Russian Military Buildup Outside Ukraine

And yet these are the same people who constantly ask “Why do Americans need so many guns?”

There’s a lot more wrong with the EU. Especially we, the leader, Germany have so much going wrong here. But that question is exactly on the money.

Basically the German population gets news every single day how great the democrats and Biden, Obama are/were and got news everyday how bad trump was. Our national news networks are without exception all like CNN. Since there’s no Fox news here, and people often only read German newspapers and watch German news, they get indoctrinated.

After all that Merkel has fucked up in 16 years people seriously signed up for a little more left leaning party who was with her in power and is actually responsible for a large part of the bad decisions.

People here cry about income inequality while we have 20% of the population actually in the free market earning the money for 100% of the population. You can not work here and get money (hartzen it is called) and people bitch moan and complain. Most people here think the republicans are a bunch of Nazis, when nothing could be further from the truth. We have a political system that was partly build by America. But we don’t have the engrained freedoms. We have so many state workers who are getting paid by the tax payer and most of what they do is make life miserable for the people. Most people even hate the state workers but won’t vote for parties who want to cut taxes, spending and people payed by the tax payer. We have shitty health care for everyone and we have shitty retirement payments but we are paying like we are getting golden syringes at the clinic and a throne made out of diamonds when we retire.

Please US, preserve your freedoms and try to keep the state as minimal as possible. Be the safe haven of freedom in the world. Don’t vote democrat. They fuck you up and you’ll end up like Europe.

Putin is committing war crimes on europe’s border and we still don’t turn on the nuclear plants. Get that shit going, now!
There’s been reports that we could get independent from Russian gas at the end of summer. Gazprom, the Russian gas gigant, where our former “democratic” Kanzler (similar to president in the US) is a board member now, pulled out of Germany now.

I have some rental properties that I usually rent out either long term or through Airbnb during the summer and I’ve accommodated three Ukrainian families so far - women with children, the men having stayed behind to fight.

Two families are from Kharkiv and we’ve already found jobs for the adults (immediately after arrival they started insisting on finding work) and the third one, recently arrived, is from Mariupol.

The woman from Mariupol is in her early thirties and semi catatonic. We are communicating only with her seven year old kid who has to walk his mom through each chore, such as eating and drinking, brushing teeth, going to the bathroom, dressing up. Otherwise she just sits and stares with empty eyes.

And what the kid is telling me is not harrowing, it’s much, much, much worse than that and I won’t even attempt to allude to the unspeakable horrors I’ve heard from him. And one has to take into the account that they’ve left Mariupol relatively early on into the siege, so it’s definitely much worse.

Russian world - russkiy mir - at it’s finest.

All my respect to you for you are doing. For the child, you are the best thing for him now. Thank you.

Which country are you in?

That is very kind of you. I am sure their stories are awful and traumatic and I wouldn’t know if I’d have the strength to deal with such devastation. Keep up the good work. Making the world a better place starts with a good heart.

Not until the covid shutdowns and mandatory vaccinations did I feel it necessary to be armed to the teeth. Mossberg has received a good portion of money I couldn’t afford to spare just to ensure me and my family’s freedoms.

I need to leave California ASAP… Tis the next order of business.

I can’t prove it, but I certainly feel like all these so called elites are in it together. To reshape the west in their image, based on lies that we are supposed to swallow wholesale based on the fear of being cut out of society if we do not comply. I will not comply.
I know about the European news circuit. It’s only partially their fault. They have relied on certain media from the US to get news about the US for decades. They don’t have time to research what’s going on in their neck of the woods and search for accurate information about the US too. They have always relied on the NYT, BBC, CNN, WaPo, CBS, NBC, etc. And for a long time, that was okay. It’s a fairly recent phenomenon that the activist elements took over these institutions and I am sure they didn’t recognize nor had the time to verify what these outlets were saying. But they should have recognized something wrong when the facts started not lining up to what they were reporting.
The difference between political animus and hit pieces should start to be pretty evident when things stop making sense.
And though it’s hard to cover the world, it is a news organizations job to get the facts right, after all. And they can no longer rely on the sources they used to to get information about the US. They actually have to put some skin in the game, send their own reporters and investigators and find out what’s really happening. Again, that’s their job and you cannot just phone it in anymore. Or you are just a propagandist for the activist arm of the DNC.

Well. now that the official position of the Russian Federation towards Ukraine is genocide, here’s an appropriate comment from an Ukrainian writer.

For the record, I’m not even talking about the massacre in Bucha, but official statements from RIA Novosti and Dmitry Medvedev, which are embedded in the article below. In short, that official position of the Russian Federation is - Ukrainians have been anti Russians for three decades now and are too far gone with the “freedom” and “Westernization” concepts, therefore they cannot be redeemed. Subsequently, the Russian Federation is forced to commit genocide against the entirety of the country (they’re all complicit per Medvedev) to prevent growth of anti-Russia.

I saw the RIA translation and Kamil galeev new thread. Horrifying how far this will go.

Amazing of you to take people in.

I’m so tired of vain old men and their bloody empires, I’m having trouble finding the words. Between the Russians murdering Ukrainians and the Chinese stuffing Uyghurs in concentration camps, I still prefer the US/EU/Aus/Canada etc as by far the lesser evil, but they aren’t giving me much cause for optimism about the future either if I’m honest. Fuck empires man, it’s been thousands of years already, don’t they ever get tired of this shit? Yeah pointless rant, I know.

Indeed. They’ve been fighting monsters without concern for becoming monsters, and staring into the abyss for far too long and often.

One of the problems is the Russian inability to bridge the colossal gap between their self-belief and their actual capabilities, whether they’re scientific, economic or military. And now they’re upset because they’re not being given an “imperial exception” like the one West gave China with the Uyghurs. You know, let us exterminate these khokhols on our Western borderlands and afterwards we’ll host cigar and cognac parties on the Italian Riviera again.

Russians are taught from an early age that they could drive their tanks and APCs across Europe to Lisbon whenever they feel like it and that the backwardness, corruption and inefficiency stems from having to preserve said capabilities. And the supposed elites perpetuated this myth - maybe actually believed in it - so that they could keep robbing the country blind. Yet in reality, said mighty victorious army cannot take a city 20 miles from the Russian border. And when faced with said reality, anger steps in. Anger at the uppity subhuman peasants who call themselves Ukrainians.

The American Empire, whose end we’re now witnessing, was arguably the most benevolent one in human history, relatively speaking. All the alternatives are much, much worse as recent events have shown.

In hindsight, I have to admit that maybe Biden wasn’t just making his usual gaffes in that speech about needing to get Putin out of office. As President, Biden was probably watching these atrocities in real time, in high def.

Sounds just like living in NY state.

good job, bro. I have volunteered at the local red cross, mainly packing and was able to gather a small amount of donations. However I do not have the stomach for a direct contact with war refugees. We have already lots of Ukrainian cars in my neighbourhood.

Keep up the good job.
