How is outrage against looting and burning of businesses and death of innocent bystanders exaggerated
and neither have I. Iāll never shoot the first shot, but my family will be safe until the ammo runs dry and my heart stops beating.
You seem to just not understand the meaning of āself defenseā.
Itās crazy exaggerated outrage when posters on here are condoning cars running over protestors, or saying that police should open fire indiscriminately on entire crowds when a couple small fireworks are thrown their way.
I never defended looting, burning, rioting.
Thats not exaggerated, thats just plain stupid if individuals made comments like that
No doubt.
Sorry for the late reply, I just returned from my multi-day psychedelic journey in the Amazon rainforest.
Yes, and yes.
Zakharova, expresses the US is nanny of Germany, sort of like how Iāve expressed the US is the entire worldās babysitter and arbitrator in here.
Pretty muchā¦
Thereās actually a very large US military base in Germany; has been there for years. Itsā our main European base of operations⦠We have bases all over the place man, it doesnāt mean we are their nannies - its just where our troops are so they can be deployed around the world as needed. Much like football, this is effectively Zone Coverage
Also, this RT International site reads like straight up russian propaganda half the time so I wouldnāt rely too much on itās accuracy
US isnt the words nanny
But USA tends to set many Western trends.
When a product/activity/commodity becomes popular in the US, Itāll probably become popular in Aus, NZ, UK, EU etc.
There are exceptions, and despite a fallacious reputation for being cultural brothers in arms it appears Aus is becoming further and further removed from US cultural archetypes
@pat If there was any modern authoritarian society I HAD to live in, iād probably choose Russia⦠though Russias problem with alcoholism is getting worse and worse as time goes by, itll be interesting to see the repercussions associated with this as the years go by.
Theyāre a police state (but not necessarily a nanny state)⦠so I suppose they could TRY banning it, but I donāt think itād work as prohibition almost never works when we refer to variables that are so culturally engrained.
Decent Jewish community in Russia⦠can also live a relatively normal life over there so long as you fall in line, do your job and donāt ask questions.
Id be okay with living in a society that isnāt necessarily representative of a democracy IF it meant the government would leave me the fuck alone for the most part
But I vastly, vastly prefer democracy and always will.
Thats because it actually IS Russian propaganda⦠no joke
Its listed as a website that peddles propaganda. Its a russian website that dispenses news from a āRussian perpsectiveā. Wikipedia, and most reputable (not wikipedia) Western websites will list RT international as being a source of Russian propaganda.
Russia (and the USSR) tried to tackle the alcohol problem twice - in 1917 by instituting a an alcohol ban and in 1985 by curbing the sale of vodka.
Revolution and the collapse of the USSR followed respectively.
And there are many jobs that are informally off limits for people with Jewish surnames. Have you been to Russia as an adult?
My surname doesnt sound stereotypically jewish.
You wouldnāt know it by looking at my name. I also have numerous tattoos and a piercing (not accepted if one abides by Jewish law).
I could pass for arab/brownish, but you wouldnāt guess iām jewish unless I specifically told you.
I donāt want to live in Russia⦠but Iād prefer it over China⦠or Singaporeā¦
Are you saying alcohol is used as a means to systemically dumb down the population? When booze is taken away an uprising occurs?
Either that or people are SO hooked theyāre willing to literally fight to the death over it.
Iām very pro-gun and consider myself a libertarian, but honestly COVID has made me re-evaluate a lot of things. āJust buy guns and do the opposite of whatever the government tells you to doā is why the US has a million COVID deaths and people injecting themselves with horse dewormer, while my state (Western Australia) has been almost completely unaffected these last 2 years.
It seems there are times when the government stepping in and imposing some initial restrictions is preferable to dying pointlessly for āmuh freedumbs.ā This whole thing has shown that if we were to get hit with a more serious pandemic, most countries would be woefully unprepared.
Yes, since Ivan Grozny introduced the first kabak and mandatory vodka quotas to be drunk by peasants. Vodka has been a tool for societal control for six centuries, not to mention a source of revenue for the state.
If the peasants are drunk most of the time there wonāt be any more false Dmitrys and peasants cavorting with catholic Poles.
Shhā¦youāre going the against the narrative. Now youāre going to be told that you live under a tyrannical, dystopian regime and that those million-plus (and counting) deaths were absolutely necessary for some reason.
It tastes like shit, gives me heartburn and makes me feel terrible for 24 hours after the buzz wears off⦠a buzz of which is massively overhyped.
Youāre not a libertarian then. Especially if you think these draconian measures actually did any good contrary to the scientific evidence now out. The US has a million covid deaths for many reasons (assuming your quoting a real number). Keep in mind due to election pressure this year, they are re-evaluating the numbers to differentiate deaths with covid, from deaths from covid. So weāll see when the new tally comes out. Second, we have 340 million people. Thatās scales to .34%, if true: deaths with and from covid.
And that point is moot anyway.
All you have done is lost rights, not gained any sort of protection. Itās a fools game and a fools calculation to give up your rights willingly to a government whose bent on power. But itās your choice. Bend the knee if you want.
I inadvertently did what the government recommended and got the shit anyway. So believe them at your own peril. All your really doing is dragging it out.
Its much more realistically because the US population is fat. 78% of people who died of covid Covid were obese; our MSM is too politically correct to point this statistic out.
Is this to mean you are okay with your fellow countrymen being put in āquarantine campsā because they arenāt vaccinated? Are you okay with their freedoms being taken away for a virus with a significant survivability rate? Would you be okay if it was you who was losing your freedoms because complying with the govt violated a personal belief of yours?
If the answer to any of these questions is āyesā, then there is no need to reply - we wonāt see eye-to-eye.
