Ukraine would definitely be totally fine if they’d just placated Vladimir

LMAO at Western “intellectuals” pontificating on their “insight” into the mind of someone who is, effectively, an alien form of life to them in relative terms.

This guy is lucky to be alive. I think his $15 Billion of 2003 money helped start Putin’s personal fortune.

This guy was Putin’s “friend”, Putin was his protege, not as lucky.

Yeah, it’s easy to placate ol’ Vladimir.

If this video was shown with zero context of the overall situation, one would not be able to discern (e.g. from body language) that these soldiers are on the inevitable losing side -very strange indeed:

Is there any footage of actual fighting? Like tanks being destroyed and firefights and whatnot? So far the only thing ive seen are missles in flight and the after effects or fat ukrainians in uniform walking around.

This isnt to underscore the people killed or injured, im just surprised to not see that much recorded combat. Im used to iraq and afghanistan where it seemed like every solider had a go pro.

In other words, you’re used to “wealthy” American soldiers outfitted with the best equipment. Here’s some video of “wealthy” journalists under live fire:

The Ukrainian government appealed to everyone that due to opsec reasons only aftermaths of engagements are shown - unless cleared by government - and the majority of Western osint amateurs seem to be adhering to this plea. There are twitter based sleuths compiling Russian and Ukrainian equipment losses based on photo/video evidence.

But make no mistake about it, this is a major conventional war in the true sense of the word.

Ex military on bbc explaining that the Russian propaganda will hold internally until mother’s get vocal about their sons not returning. A report that this has started from a council mtg.

As Russia is employing mobile crematoriums, I doubt they’ll have records of who has died for the parents.

I’ll be honest, you could write anything in the subtitles and I wouldn’t know if it’s a correct translation. Is this video of any worth?

Well that was an American war. I didn’t see any journalists lining up to imbed themselves with the Ukrainian military. But you make a good point. It’s very difficult to trust the reporting in the “fog of war” mentality. Add to that, the fact that the media has been overtly lying about as much as possible for the past 5 to 10 years and it becomes very difficult to trust it.
I definitely do not trust Russian media, at all. But I never have. But I don’t trust ours either for good reason.
Ghost of Kiev - lie
Miss Ukraine taking up arms to fight - lie
Ukraine shot down 5 russian planes - my ass.
Ukraine is winning! - lol (at the lie not the tragedy)

Just watched the video and the subtitles are correct. Nevzorov is the real deal - he used to be Putin’s friend back in St. Petersburg in 1980-90s and many speculate that is the reason why he’s still alive.

It’s worth noting that despite being spot-on about the Russian military and society in general, he still doesn’t “get” Ukraine nor its people. Talking about “Yarosh batallions” in 2022? That are some extremely dated preconceptions by arguably the most level headed Russian (former) politician. Makes one wonder what delusional ideas do the guys running the show in Russia have.

Speaking of lies, I cannot unsee this:

What shocked me, and probably Marco Rubio is that the answer wasn’t “No”. It begs the question, WTF? Why are there level 2 (or possibly higher) bio-research labs in Ukraine, at all? Funded by the US? Again WTF?

I have all sorts of questions about this shit. Haven’t we had enough of bio-research labs? We knew war was coming, why didn’t we secure, or preferably destroy this shit?
Why do they exist at all, haven’t bio-research labs done enough damage?

I loved the Pentagon’s explanation
‘Oh, these were old Soviet labs and we were helping the Ukrainians safely ramp them down.’ ← WTF? So it takes over 30 years to dismantle old Soviet bio-labs? We are supposed to believe that. I don’t believe that line of bullshit, one iota. And if that’s all they are, why didn’t Victoria Nuland just say that, instead of the linguistic gymnastics she did.
So we can derive 3 facts from this. There are bio-research labs in Ukraine, clearly working on shit considered dangerous enough that we are really concerned about Russia getting them. The US is stiff funding this obviously very dangerous experimentation with really nasty diseases. Third, the US did nothing to secure something that is of obvious great concern.

I am sorry, I don’t see the point of any such labs. I’d rather take my chances with nature. And that’s assuming these labs were being used for good and not evil, which I cannot confirm.

Fact check: Is the US fucking around with dangerous biological agents they have no business fucking around with? True.

Oh dear God, only the American right is still buying Russian propaganda. Is it a coping mechanism, doubling-down upon finding out that most of the spoon-fed information that shaped one’s worldview was produced in Russia?

Russia fully controlled Ukraine from 2010 to 2014, and partially before that. Then president Yanukovich (advised by Manafort, mind you) was guarded by a FSB detail and Russia literally controlled the Ukrainian defense ministry and the security services. For example, Ukrainian security services used Russian government servers for their correspondence and the heads of departments had Russian citizenship.

Now, the Americans supposedly ran “biological research facilities” from 2005 in Ukraine, which again - was fully controlled by Russia at the time - and Kremlin apparently didn’t notice that?
