Unrelated, but I can’t be the only one who thinks Assad looks like a paedophile
Also, the fact that they’re still using SU class aircrafts is sad

SU stands for the manufacturer Sukhoi, still making newer planes like the SU-57. Russia has about a dozen of these but very limited operations with them.
But yes, much of the equipment being used by the Russians in Ukraine is the same sort of Soviet-era stuff the Iraqi army was using in 1991.
He looks like the guy who tries to sell you Amway but even tells you its not Amway anymore, but even if it was… blah blah blah…
So poland is going to give jets to ukraine, and we’re going to give jets to poland. Got it.
Stupid Russians will never know the difference. It’s genius! It’s like beating a dog with a stick, then blaming it when it bites you. Because you weren’t hitting it.
If this doesn’t trigger a Russian military response against NATO, I don’t see this as anything but a good thing? We get to sell more planes, and we get to support Ukraine militarily. And is this any different than supplying Ukraine with ATGMs or other weapons?
Win-win?
Ive been to other parts of the internet. They have plenty of girls who do that over there.
How could it not? The Russian people are much more likely to support a war against “NATO aggression.”
Haven’t NATO countries been overtly and publicly sending arms to Ukraine all along?
And speaking of the Russian public, apparently Anonymous hacked the state TV channels and showed western coverage and on-the-ground coverage of Ukraine which directly contradicted the Kremlin’s coverage.
What responce to NATO. Russia is literally losing this war against Ukraine, do you think they have power to fight against NATO? This is literally an energy grab. I am quite sure this ends pretty soon with Russia asking for the power plant and no transit taxes for the pipe lines.
However I am not sure if Ukraine is going agree to these terms and wont go kick some Russian ass out of their territory.
Perhaps, for now maybe. I was talking big picture. We shall see. I am more than happy to be wrong.
Except there is this:
That totally makes sense. The dem ground game is strong and well organized.
What could possibly go wrong?
I sense NATO/ US is itching to get involved. Escalation seems like a foregone conclusion at this point. Supplying material support can be seen by Russia and it’s most important strategic partner, China, as an act of war. But we did it in WW2 and it wasn’t necessarily seen as direct involvement.
It doesn’t much matter though. Russia never has to leave the borders of Ukraine to draw in NATO, they just have to do something so appalling, it cannot be ignored. That would not be a new thing for Putin, so he might.
Plus he has all of Syria’s chemical weapons, so he has options on the table if he feel backed in to a corner and wants to light the world on fire.
Back in 2014, we so trusted the Russians, that during obama’s Syrian Red Line debacle, he brokered a deal with our dear friends the Russians to rid Syria of it’s chemical weapons. What Russian did with them? Who knows.
Just remember that Putin was seen as a strategic partner and potential ally prior to 2015. How did he become a pariah? The Russian collusion hoax.
Yup. Spot on. If we had competent leaders who weren’t trying to exploit the situation for their own selfish gain, making them impotent in the face of the real danger here, they would try to make a deal. If the goal was peace and we had adults instead of geriatric children in mental regression, we’d be trying to broker a face-saving way to end the conflict without embarrassing Putin. If he’s a real war hawk, no deal would be sweet enough and then you can really see where his heart lies.
But nobody is even trying
It seems to me, the reason the west has been so unbending and so cold to Russia is that they wanted this conflict. It’s the only explanation that makes sense. Make Russia an enemy and distract people with a needless war so they can continue to implement their globalist, socialist agenda, while we are to distracted waiting for the other shoe to drop in terms of escalation. They continue to move us down the path of ESG’s and a monitored and controlled economy. Save I think they miscalculated one major thing, China supporting Russia. It looks like this nimrods really thought China was their friend and would pick our money over their manifest destiny. Except China just declared Russia, their “most important strategic partner”… ooops!
Actually, they miscalculated the entire thing.
I love how people want to stop importing russian oil, while still not ramping up domestic production. Hope you got your oil stocks early, they are going through the roof.
I agree that it will affect oil prices, but it shouldn’t have a huge effect.
Are you being sarcastic?
no. It will affect oil prices, but it quite seriously shouldn’t have a huge effect. It will, because capitalism, but logically it shouldn’t when we have one of the world’s largest oil wells sitting right under Midland TX.
EDIT:
I live in SoCal and watched gas go up from ~4.60/gal to 5.05/gal in the last month
If we could be sure it wouldn’t go nuclear, it would be a great opportunity to slap Russia around. They clearly aren’t the military we thought they were.
I’ve said it before in the thread, but it bears repeating.
Putin wants us to slap him around to justify his war and make him look like a great protector. He doesn’t care if we wipe his forces in Ukraine. He still wins.
Ugh, my condolences…
That’s a pretty dangerous way to look at it. Just because Russia got more resistance than they expected, doesn’t mean they cannot ramp up and crush the Ukrainian resistance. My bet is they will. And most assuredly, a war with the US, they will make no such mistake as to underestimating resistance. It will be total war. And if they get China on board, which seems more and more likely we’re in for a hell of a time. And if all of that happens the US mainland will not be spared. And nuclear is an option, we have no assurances it won’t go there.
