Russian Military Buildup Outside Ukraine

I’m still trying to figure out how Americans are going to be affected if these two countries go at it or why we should be involved.

America is an increasingly violent, degenerative circus. Like millions of Americans, I’m a middle-class, middle-aged adult with kids, a wife, home, aging parents, wondering what the future holds for my children in this unserious place. Yet for some reason I’m exhorted by the media and fellow Americans to be concerned with every squabble, disaster, oppression, and mistreatment going on in the world and to condone our resources and manpower being use to fix all of them.

Has anyone seen what a criminal freak show NYC and other cities have become? Anyone think maybe our focus should be on then before we go play Santa Claus for all of mankind?

Let’s say these two go at it. I picture if they do, American life will be unaffected. Or with all said here am I seriously missing something? (Tonight is one of the rare nights I’ve allowed myself to become tipsy. So maybe I actually am missing something.)

Surely that would be Gorbachev, no?

They’ve been moving west for a long time. I don’t see why suddenly it has become of such grave importance to justify a full scale invasion. Maybe Putin is sick and trying to go out with guns blazing?

The only leader of the Soviet Union to have actually believed in communism doesn’t count in the heads of Russian nationalists.

Covid, endless culture wars in the US, farcical scenes of American incompetence in Kabul, Biden whose mental faculties seems questionable, Merkel’s retirement, Macron facing (tough) reelection…

Honestly, I’d go with bored. He’s completely absent for most of the day-to-day activities of running the country and at 70 would like to cement his place in Russian history.

Entirely predictable. I think war is a forgone conclusion here. The biden admin recently gave warning about a russian false flag operation, where the russians are supposedly going to ‘stage’ a phony attack on themselves, by the US in order to start a conflict. And they announced this with no evidence and when pressed, they said “just trust us”.

So when I put it through the filter, it sounds like to me biden is planning a military first strike on russian troops and then going to call the reporting of it ‘russian disinformation’. At this point, I just automatically believe anything tagged as ‘russian disinformation’ is 1000% true until proven otherwise. Hell, they even said the truck protest was russian disinformation. Apparently they have never read the story of “The boy who cried Wolf”.

It sounds like to me, biden is testing the water for a US first strike, in order to start a war to distract from all his unmitigated failures. China is the real threat and the government responds by cancelling people who criticize china.
Can the country be saved or will it take a literal revolution?
I don’t know. I believe biden intends on starting this war and then blaming russain disinformation. I hope I am wrong. God please let me be wrong.

We don’t want this war, we really don’t. 2 major powers haven’t fought since WW2. Can it be that we start WW3 and this time it actually be accurate to say the US started it? Let’s hope not. But I think the idiots who brought us the Afghan withdrawal debacle have already made up their minds.

Yeah, I am sure Russia trembles at the possibility.

No it’s not. All he has to do is sit at the border and watch biden freak out everytime he adds another troop. Putin doesn’t have to do a thing but goad the west into starting a conflict and he is so far succeeding. Strangely Europe seems utterly unconcerned. At least not concerned enough to send any of their military.

The fact that you pointed the “Jewish” part pretty much proves unequivocally, you are an anti-Semite. There is literally no reason to bring that up, unless you hate Jews.

Neo-Nazi = people who are not a part of, or totally in love with the democrat party.

Since you have a rich history of lying about everything, you’ll forgive me if I don’t take your word for it. Or maybe you wish for my death, either way, I don’t take your word for it, anti-Semite.

If I recall correctly @loppar has posted his dislike of anti-Semitism.

I’ve also lost several family members in Dachau, but lets not spoil the ranting of a sad, lonely old man with facts.

Can you name one politician grounded in reality?

Can someone become a politician if he’s grounded in reality?

Regarding actual invasion

The US is a perfect example of having the capability of destroying a country, but not the will. Often you can get more by threatening the violence, than by actually bringing it to bear. No one is overly scared anymore.

Putin could sit on border, finance enough internal proxy upheaval by ideologues or Russian patriots to scare Ukraine (relatively without allies, maybe token Turkish support) and keep NATO on hold.

Yes, that is an option, but I think Putin already made up his mind to invade.

Interestingly, some experts argue that his fear of Covid (which he’s taking great pains to hide from his Western admirers) is affecting his decision making.

He’s been doing that for the last 8 years. One of the reasons he switched to more conventional means is that his strategy of internal upheaval using proxies failed. What remained of pro-Russian oligarchs in Ukraine left for Moscow a couple of days ago.

Not only token, Turkish Baryaktars delivered to Ukraine affected the balance of power on the battlefield.

So did Whoopie Goldburg. I default to not believing anything ling ling says, unless proven otherwise. He lies too much for me to trust him.

I simply don’t care.

Neither do I.

Looks like biden want’s war. Perhaps to cover up all his corruption with Ukraine:

Zelenskyy want’s evidence that there is an impending invasion and the U.S. has not provided it. They are begging the US to stop stoking tensions. Biden is going to take us to war because he is a dick.
I am no fan of Russia, but if we get this ‘False flag’ report, where the US is predicting that the Russians are going to ‘claim’ a US first strike. This tells me that the US is providing cover to do a first strike on russia. Until the Russian step over the border, they have not yet invaded.
If the russians claim the US dropped a bomb or missile on them, I am liable to believe it. Because every single thing the US has claimed has ‘russian disinformation’ has been false and proven false.
If we go to war with russia it’s going to be bad, really, really bad. This ain’t no Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, etc. This will be a very competent enemy who can shoot down our planes and strake us where we live.

That is true considering we lost to Afghanistan.

Other countries arent faring better. I prefer to simply not think about it as when I do so my future prospects appear incresingly bleak.

As pessimistic as is it… chances are my generation coupled with future generations will be considered “the lost generations”… something alongside those lines.

So did the Russians.

This is obviously not true. Pat cares so much he will eventually block loppar to protect his feelings.

Well, you have to embrace the suck of clown world and fight for liberty where you see authoritarianism darken your door. You can’t hide from it, none of us can.
