The only thing they’re going to end up with is a bunch of widows and the title “Cam Whore Capital Of The World!”.
Pretty good. ![]()
You’re probably right, mate. Victory for the “our guy”, the Zelenksy regime, is just around the corner with this one, cool weapon system. I mean, it’s called “Storm Shadow” ffs!!! That’s gotta be cool, right??! Pretty sure I had a GI Joe toy just like that. Awesome, amiright??!
Yeah. I mean, you asked how the copes were going so… ![]()
You seem kinda butthurt. I don’t think you were using that toy correctly.
They shot down some Rusky jets too if that makes you feel any better.
Ukrainian propaganda, obviously.
My whole beef is that a lot you folks think that Ukraine is winning when it is obviously not. And that Russia is a big dumb stupid country who does not know how to fight and are a bunch of clowns.
This is dangerous thinking. And it’s best we back away from this conflict and let Europe deal with. Lest we engage and find out how wrong we were about Russia’s military preparedness.
You think we can just walk-in and kick Russia’s ass? I don’t want to find out how wrong this notion is. Especially given our stellar performance against the Taliban, who still holds power and won the war against the US. Which is pathetic.
I don’t want war, but I do not see any off-ramps. For anybody who has studied 20th Century history in particular and wars in general, will recognize the signs.
The forecast, based on the information we currently have, is leading us down a path to massive conflict. I do not see anyone, particularly in the US, taking measures to cool down tensions in any region. There are no obvious off ramps. This war needs to end before it escalates, but nobody is making that move or even trying. Cheer for which ever side you like, I don’t care. I don’t want the conflict period.
I’m sure the Ruski’s would drink to that. Pretty sure the Afghans were rocking surplus style bolt action rifles at the time too.
It would be hard for them to win, since they were invaded and the war is being fought on their soil, destroying their infrastructure.
But they’re doing a hell of a job, all things considered. Russia has incurred massive losses. Absolutely stunning by any standard.
So yeah, its hard to call what the Ukraine is doing a win.
But it would be a shit ton harder to call what russia has done a win either.
The Kudos I will give is to you Pat. That was probably the most cogent, rational post you’ve made in years.
What ever you’re doing, keep doing it. ![]()
Here we see Russia demonstrate the Leroy Jenkins strategy, where in they rush forward all willy-nilly and everybody gets killed.
Its called the Leroy Jenkins in honor of the character who first popularized the strategy, and Not the Willy- Nilly because as prolific as he was in inventing new strategic errors, Willy refused to take credit for them, citing discrepancies and grievance regarding his pay grade.
I actually “know” the guy who was playing that character.
He was in my guild in Everquest as Famian - a Human warrior lol.
He is an archeologist funny enough.
That guy deserves some kind of meddle. Anybody who can bring that much funny to the world in less than 30 seconds should be recognised for their talent.
You can practically here “Goddamn it, Leeroy”
Russia has been offered every conceivable “off ramp” since the 2008 invasion of Georgia, with multiple relationship “resets” initiated by literally every US administration since then. Even days before the invasion Sleepy Joe signaled to the Russians that if they limit their military activities to Donetsk and Luhansk regions the US will look the other way with the infamous “minor incursion” comment.
Offering “offramps” only encourages Russian brinkmanship. As Lenin himself said, “You probe with bayonets. If you find mush, you proceed. If you find steel, you withdraw”
I mean, you could have said that about Britain in 1941. Currently around 17% of Ukraine is occupied (including Crimea and pre-2022 parts of Donbas) but the country itself and more importantly its economy is functioning* a far cry from initial Russian plans of “Kyiv in three days”. The opening of the grain corridor for export of Ukrainian agricultural products (through sinking Russian ships just like Novocherkassk) is a massive win and the Russian army is losing massive amounts of Soviet era equipment and men in “meat assaults”.
On the downside, even the Ukrainian C-in-C according to his own admission underestimated Russian capacity for tolerating casualties and people are realizing that they’ll have to endure more hardship and even more casualties in sparring with their psychotic neighbor hell bent on their destruction.
And there’s a grim realization how much the Russians are brutal. The stories coming from occupied territories are harrowing, with Russian soldiers in many villages complaining that they’ve resorted to raping octogenarian grannies as all other women and girls were already raped and killed. Every one of those Russian speakers from the east of the country I’ve met (those supposedly wanting to be part of Greater Russia according to BS language maps) have had parents/relatives tortured or killed by the “brothers” and guess what - they hate Russians now with such hatred that it’s almost impossible to fathom.
And for all those “American proxy war” shills, this is a massive conventional war not seen since Korea in the 1950ies. While 1990s era American weapon systems very sparingly delivered (not pallets of money, America haters supposedly worried about homelessness and the southern border - 155mm shells built in 1989 that spent 34 years in a warehouse won’t solve those problems) are very useful (and deadly), it’s a massive effort requiring thousands upon thousands of tons of equipment, the majority of it home produced. Every vocational school has a drone assembly line led by a metalshop teacher with drone production plans for 2024 surpassing a million units, with five million estimates thrown around. Not to mention repair/construction efforts.
Ironically, as Max Brooks predicted in his book World War Z, in a zombie apocalypse (or a Russian invasion) everything disproportionately depends on marginalized blue collar people, deemed losers by modern post-industrial societies, who know how to build/repair stuff and to a lesser extent enterprising kids.
*I almost got killed a month ago by falling debris from a Shaheed drone in front of that Kyiv McDonalds that Nazi incels and bitter self-loathing MAGAs were foaming at the mouth about “look how clean it is, send Ukraine more money please”
Good to hear from you again. Stay safe. Or as safe as possible. ![]()
No worries, I’m not in Ukraine ATM. The only injury I’ve received there was a pulled groin - the nightly air raids were making me jumpy so I self-medicated with 600 KB swings in a single session, which was extremely dumb in hindsight.
You know how to tell thats bullshit?
Russians don’t use soap. ![]()
Now even this snow leopard thinks you’re tarded.
They did not stop at Luhansk or the Crimea. Looks like they won’t stop at anything. One is reminded of the Russian proverb about giving a finger and getting the arm bitten off at the elbow.
If anyone thought the video above about sex offenders being pro-Russian propagandists (or is it the other way around?) is an exaggeration here’s a (twice) convicted American sex offender speaking at a ISIS larping event in Chechnya.
