Rush Limbaugh

Rush is a fucking hypocrite for crying about his first ammendment rights to express an unpopular opinion.

It was just a few months ago that he was ripping into the Dixie Chicks (or as Rush calls them, “Saddam’s Angels”) for expressing THEIR opinions.

I guess Rush thinks the first ammendment is reserved for right wing bigots?

For expressing THEIR opinion the Dixie Chicks were blackballed from the radio, which suited Rush just fine.

But when it the tables are turned, Rush cries like a baby. And so do his supporters!!!

Regarding my desire to see Rush get sent to prison, it’s just a little wishful thinking on my part. (How come he hasn’t denied that he’s a drug addict?)

By the way, even though I hope they send Rush to prison for a long time, I’d be just as happy to see him develop an inoperable face cancer.

In other words, I’m not picky…

I’m glad he quit- I’m sick of the Rush Limbaughs, George Lopez’s and Wanda Sykes of the world being involved in sports talk. After years of having to listen to opinions of sports reporters who never even played the game they report on we now have to suffer through listening to actors/actresses and idiots like Limbaugh. It’s ridiculous. As far as the post is concerned, I agree that he should be able to express his opinion but you roll the dice anytime you bring race into it. Plus his comment was so off-base it showed he had no business being there.

Yeah, yeah, he just made an honest statement of a defensible position BUT he is such a goddam dick…

Bottom line is he doesnt know anything about football, and a lot of his comments are stupid. How the hell did he get that job anyways.

"There is no defensible reason in the year 2003 to use the phrase “black quarterback.” That’s too race-aware on its face. He’s not the first one. He sure as hell won’t be the last one. He’s not even the only one to do well (or at least appear to – Hello, Michael Vick.) There’s absolutely no novelty left. What the motivation for mentioning race?

If Rush had said that McNabb was overrated and that some in the media simply wanted to see him do well and hadn’t used that phrase, there would have been no problem. That’s simply an opinion. "

Then why do blacks feel the need to continue the differentiation between them and non-blacks? At both universities i have attended there is a division of the National Society of Black Engineers. Created by blacks, run by blacks. If there should no longer be differentiation between blacks and whites by white ppl, should the same not be true for black ppl? That is a double standard.

There is also a ton of talk in the media about the “first balck man to [fill in the blank]” Why make note it was a black man if there is no novelty left?

What is the motivation in both cases to mention race? Should it not just be the National Society of Engineers and “Man to do [fill in the blank]”? What motivation is there to bring race in in either case?

It is the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons that keep racism alive, by turning totally incidents that really have nothing to do with racism into media circuses.

  1. Lumpy is undoubtedly the stupidest person I’ve had the displeasure of encountering all week long. Since, for some reason sane people like me get politically ‘lumped’ with idiots like you, I feel the need to correct some of your nonsense:
  • To call Rush a ‘stupid drug-addict’ before there is a conclusive trial verdict…or even an arrest for that matter, is to label yourself as a ‘stupid nonsense-addict,’ and does nothing but perpetuate the perception of all liberals as people who glean their information from the National Enquirer. Wait a minute…

  • Your ‘can’t a guy get a blowjob’ thing is almost as stupid. Not quite, but almost. Its rather disgusting that the dems blame Bush for not nabbing Bin Laden during the few months before 9/11. But then again, I guess we can’t blame Clinton for not going after him even after Bin Laden was indicted for the embassy bombings (which he had several years to do); I guess he had other things going through his head at the time.

At least I can take comfort in the fact that yours is the kind that can’t figure out how to punch out a chad… "

i agree completely.

a lot of arguments here are based on: “when black people do it, it’s ok; but when ____ does it, it’s not.”

i agree that other minorities and their leaders fuck up a lot of times: when vatos say ‘white boy’ it can be considered offensive; when jesse jackson calls new york hymietown, that’s also discrimination.

that should NOT condone rush and trent lotts’ behavior one bit.

the reason rush gets more attention than say jesse jackson is that historically, whites have discriminated against blacks. because of the spirit of our nation’s laws since the civil war and the civil rights movement, we expect to have moved on, and when we hear racial comments against blacks we can’t help but think that we are ‘going backward.’

in contrast, hispanics in america also suffer discrimination nowadays but because there hasn’t been historic and systematic discrimination such as with blacks, an incident against mexicans per se doesn’t get nearly as much attention as an incident against blacks. (the hispanic designation came about only recently in our countries history; racially hispanics can be negroid, caucasoid, mongoloid, or any of combination of these. many hispanics are assimilated and some are hard to identify as ‘mexican’ or ‘puerto rican’ but are rather labeled ‘white’ ‘black’ or ‘brown’ based on their skin color).

for example, many people don’t know that in newport beach, CA, a non-hispanic white city councilman made totally irresponsible and direct racist comments at ‘brown’ hispanics because there were ‘too many of them’ near certain beach properties. (City of Newport Beach | Home). such a statement is viewed as isolated and it is not a sign of our nation ‘going backward.’ so it doesn’t get as much attention as when rush implies something stupid about blacks.

direct AND indirect racist comments by anyone should be looked down upon (period)

rush should have said:

“i dont’ think mcnabb is that good; it’s his team that is good (period)”

as a counterpoint, hispanics in america also suffer discrimination nowadays but because there hasn’t been historic and systematic discrimination such as with blacks, an incident against mexicans per se doesn’t get nearly as much attention as an incident against blacks. (the hispanic designation came about only recently in our countries history; racially hispanics can be negroid, caucasoid, mongoloid, or any of combination of these).

You have to put Rush’s comments into the right context…

For example…Young black people call each other “nigger” sometimes, I personally don’t find it healthy, but that is their perogative. However if Rush were to use the word “nigger” it would be indefensible.

Does everyone follow the logic there?

Regarding Rush’s actual comments on ESPN, put them in context and consider the source: Rush has a long history of making racist comments on his radio show. For example, Rush “talking Jive” which is insulting, or telling a black caller “call me back after you take the bone out of your nose”.

His radio show is mostly listened to by his fawning toadies, who do not challenge him. However, Rush is “not ready for prime time” on a national TV show. Like a cockroach, many of his views cannot stand exposure to the light.

Rush Limbaugh is the Jerry Springer of politics, and it’s sad that anybody takes him seriously.

Lumpy, that’s actually not logical at all.

Explain?

that made no sense at all.
and i have never once heard rush make a racist comment on his show.

minority, what is a minority in this country, and what the hell does that really mean, I don’t care if you are purple or green if you suck you suck, Al Sharpton is a huge racist all by himself, and by the way Donovan Mcnabb is an above average quarterback, not a great one, at least this far into his career, and I do think Limbaugh was partly right, but ignorant for voicing his opinion as a statement instead of a question

Wow, Lumpy. You are completely blinded by your absolute hate. True bigotry is a hate of others, often without rational reason. Stating the things you have, like actually hoping a person gets cancer. You don’t seem to realize you are no different then people like Hitler.

I am not joking about this. Actually wishing for a person to get a terrible disease, and only because you disagree with this persons political views? This is just wrong. You need to realize that this is no different then hating somebody just because they are black, or Hispanic, or Jewish, or Gay.

You are a hypocrite.

Most people do not understand prejudice, racism, bigotry, and hate. These terms all mean something different. Prejudice does not always mean hate, but the hate of Republicans and Democrats for each other is a form of prejudice. Not all Republicans and Democrats hate each other.

Lumpy, you stated that it is ok for one type of person to use a word, but not for another. This might seem to make sense, but this actually only means that certain people would have more rights then others. This is not treating people equally. I repeatedly have heard Chris Rock use the term cracker. Should people demand that he not use this word because he is not white? One of the hardest lessons to learn is that words are just words. They only have the meaning we give them.

Bigotry is just a small section of hate. If you hate any group of people then there is no difference between that hate and the hate of bigotry. In school people often form cliques. Then these cliques begin hating the other cliques. The jocks hate the preppies, who hate the weirdo’s, who hate the drama students, who hate the nerds, who hate the druggies, who don’t seem to be aware of anything.

Prejudice is to “pre-judge”. To judge before all the information is available. This is a normal function of the human brain. We generalize everything. We just need to be aware of when we do it, and where it should be applied. Too often people get upset at others who ask questions, and are just trying to learn. Years ago I had a friend complain that a woman asked why black men were wearing those plastic things on their heads. Naturally I couldn’t keep my mouth shut, and asked if he ever wore one, and he said yes. So I asked what they were for. And yes I did it just to annoy him.

Racism. I consider applying different rights based on race to be racism. You don’t have to hate a person, but often you believe you are superior. Or one group of people is superior in some way shape or form to another. I would actually take it beyond race to include a lot more differentiations of people.

Then there is just plane hate. Needs no definition, but my computer gives the synonyms as follows: abhorrence, detestation, odium, revulsion, disgust, Lumpy, and extreme dislike.

So far we have Lumpy stating that he wishes a person would get cancer. (Hate.) And stating that Rush is guilty before any facts are in. (Prejudice.) That one group of people is allowed to use words that others are not allowed to use. (Racism.) And it is obvious that Lumpy hates any conservative, and Republican. (Bigotry.)

Now where are the sources for you Rush information? I doubt you listen to him, yet you seem to be an expert in his statements, and his life.

I don’t listen to him myself, but I have heard a few conservative talk shows, and all of them tend to give preference to the callers who disagree with the host. I am fairly certain that if he has callers it is the same thing. Anyone who listens to Rush please tell us the truth.

You are quick to call Rush a bigot, but are unwilling to look in the mirror and see the real bigot.

The Mage
If you don’t understand there is a significant difference between calling someone a “cracker” and calling someone a “nigger” than you are not too bright.

Rush is the Jerry Springer of politics, and I am surprised you are not a big fan of his, because you seem to share a lot of the same values.

You’re crying about me attacking Rush personally, then you turn around and attack me personally.

Hey, if Rush doesn’t get face cancer, I’d settle for ass cancer. Maybe Rush will get so high on those narcotics that his heart will stop. Wait a second, I don’t think that clown has a heart, he’s a conservative…

Maybe the drug abuse can explain some of his wacko extremist positions…

You know, the Mage, I just re-read your post, and I’ve seen the error of my ways…

Golly gee, maybe I really am being unfair to Rush…

That disgusting piece of shit…

One more thing, as far as me being “consumed by hatred” (or whatever your sappy comment was) I want you to know that the Rush scandals have provided me with the biggest laughs I’ve had in WEEKS.

Hatred-shmatred, I am having a BLAST here, and I can only hope Rush drags the scandals out as long as possible. Good times!!!

I suppose this is how Rush felt, when the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke… Lets have some fun with it!!!

He’s an idiot, should never be on espn. Hes not a sports mind.

Whatever happened to this quote:

"A then-young Pistons forward named Dennis Rodman groused that the media made a fuss (imagine that) over Bird just because he was white.

Thomas, the leader of the Bad Boys, then seconded the notion.

“If he were black, he’d be just another good guy,” Thomas said."
