They really are. I never plugged into a class A type headphones amp, but the clarity and dynamic range on them was just incredible just straight from the headphones output.

Were they the full receiver jack size or the mobile 3.5 mm? Iāve never felt like a separate headphone amp was needed coming from a receiver. But either way, the output on those guys are fantastic even with a mobile device powering them.
I did notice a boost with mobile headphones (not Sennheisers) using a Dragonfly amp to help boost signal off my smartphone. Would recommend.
