Lots of lat work. I was reading the article about pullups and how to properly activate the lats when doing them. I put some light weight on the pulldowns and proceeded to try out the recommendations (pull shoulders down, squeeze lats till I felt them in the pits). Low and behold, no pain in my bicep tendons. Felt all of it in the lats. For now, that blows my pullups out of the water. Wasn’t doing them right anyway.
Dumbass did hammer curls even though tendons were hurting…I’m an idiot. Came home and chopped up wood…I said ‘chopped’.
Backyard full of chitlins tonite. They are having a bonfire.
Some extra kids showed up at my daughters party last nite. She promptly told them, without any que from me, that if they weren’t invited, they had to leave. Lo and behold…they did. She even cleaned up the back yard before she came in. They have some pretty respectful friends. I was impressed.

Really? That would impress me as well.
I had a similar moment at my daughters birthday party. When the pinata burst, the kids scrambled, as you expect them too. Most of the kids were 9-11 years old. So, my littlest (4 y.o.) didn’t stand a chance getting much candy. My wife told him that she would get him some later. One of the 9 year olds overheard her and offered him half of hers.
For some reason I think “deload” should be sung to the tune carried by the witches minions in “The Wizard of Oz”.
One more deload day to go.
Standing Mils
Sets of 5 to 135
DE Bench
8x3@185
Lots o lat work…pulldowns and cable rows…a bunch of each. Doing them properly really knocks down the weight my ego wants to use. However, I was feeling them exactly where I’m supposed to so we will see.
A side note…Is it me or is it hard to add in extra days of work like cardio and such. I keep wanting to but won’t do it.

RL, I really concentrated on pulling “properly” as well. It really did target the lats much better. And on my seated rows, I pulled just a tad higher than normal, and it seemed to center on the same area. Good stuff.
Ok. I was supposed to deload deads today. Seeing how I’m helping my bro move Sat, I decided to skip the dead deload and move right into the next cycle. Go figure.
Bench x fins
warmups to 135
185x5
215x5
245x10 This was my goal for today. 2 snaps up in a circle!!! I also may have found the correct hand placement for me, finally. The bars at the gym are slightly different than the ones that I have. They seem to be a C-H thicker.
Dips
25x5
35x5
45x5
70x5
77.5x5
87.5x4 Failed on the 5th rep. I may have screwed up. I should deduct from last cycle and start over since I just started doing these!!!
Krocs
3x10@80
Lots of additional lat work…pulldowns and cable rows. Couple o sets of curls. Nothing big
I hate moving. And I hate helping people move. I do it, because that’s what friends and family do. But I still hate it. And you have hit on one of the big reasons why. Not to mention, so many people over look the moving “etiquette”…providing pizza and beer.
Good job getting the workout done. What do you use for a box?
training is looking good rug. Are you doing weighted dips 5/3/1 right after benching? Kind of like doing cleans before squats?
I have been doing them instead of militaries (still do the millies 5x10 as accessories). I had to reset my training max after the first cycle on dips too.
LS - They have a bench that’s used for seated mils which puts me right at parallel. My bro knows etiquette. He had beer, pop and food and willing friends. Only because of the aforementioned items.
MJ - Yup. I do the dips right after benching. I shouldn’t 5/3/1 two things in a row, but f-it, it’s working.

Great Millies, RL.
Do the seated feel that much different than standing? If so, in what way?[/quote]
Since I don’t have to stablize it on the Hammerstrength, it’s like an iso movement. The focus is directly on the delts. That being said, I can do more #'s seated than standing right now, probably for that same reason. I actually have a setup routine just like benching. Pull lats down, drive feet firm to floor, etc. I’m just looking for carryover to my overhead. The thing with my over-head is I actually drop the bar right to my collar bone on each rep which may be contributing to my elbow soreness. I may start doing some to the chin and see what happens.
