Good work, J_Willy, and yes she can.

Sunday morning workout:
Bench press: bar x 20, 135x20, 205x12, 4x245x6
DB Incline Press: 3x60x10
DB flat fly: 35x12, 2x45x10
Rev grip incline cgp in the smith: 185x10, 205x8, 205x6
Rev fly: 3x50x8
It was a quiet Sunday morning in the gym. Just me the Ipod and all the TV’s. I’m not sure what was plying actually, I just know they were on. I still am working out with 80% of my max on my bench. Flys were light feeling so I bumped the weight some. CGP’s felt light, until I bumped to 205. THAT was a chore!! It sure felt fun!
4:30 came early today. I was worn out from visiting the parents and taking the daughter to her pottery lesson. I guess I’m OCD about training, I rolled out of bed and rolled on to the gym. Have a full day today. I guess I’ll move gyms when I return from China. I need a new direction and surroundings. While in China I hope I can develop a new plan. With my luck, probably not!
JW’s morning question: If a stripper gets breast implants can she write it off on her taxes as a business expense?[/quote]
Nice work j-willy. The benching is looking strong. You’ll find a new plan. If it is like most things, though, you’ll run across it when you’re not looking for it.
Thanks Jjack and LS. I dont know how good the work is… but I’m damn sure giving it a go!
Monday morning workout
Rubber band dislocates: 15 reps
YTWL: 8 lbs
Tumminello Complex: 4 sets
Treadmill interval: 20 minutes
Trying to get the new complex down pat for my trip. I’m hoping it will work better in the hotel gyms. I know one thing, 4 sets damn near kills me. I guess I was really getting used to the other ones. A change is always good. Since I leave for China Saturday, I don’t see much need of joining the new gym. I can use this 10 days as a deload period and then come back recharged to focus anew on my strength goals. I’m excited about the new surroundings. Hopefully I can put together a good program and really build some strength into this old dude.
JW’s morning question: I wonder if Jewish vampires avoid crosses or Stars of David? (My daughter is obsessed with Twilight. Seems 35 years ago, I was watching Dark Shadows and Barnabas Collins)
Tuesday morning workout
Squats in the smith: 135x20, 205x12, 225x8, 245x5, 2x265x5
Goblet squats: 3x65x10
Floor wipers: 3x10
Decline leg raises: sets of 20, 20, 15
Typical Tuesday morning workout. Nothing remarkable to report. I still hate the Smith Machine. By October that will change. I can barbell squat at the new place!! WOO HOO!! I’m just about excited for the prospects.
Getting ready for my trip. I don’t think I’ll be squeezing the 2-a days this week
JW’s morning wonder for the travel weary: Why do we put suits in a garment bag and put garments in a suitcase?
Dark Shadows was an awesome show!!!
I need to try that Tumminello complex, nice work.

It kills me Kmac… I never realized just how hard a 45 lb plate would work you.
Wednesday morning workout
Rubber band dislocates: 15 reps
YTWL: 8 lbs
Tumminello Complex: 4 sets
Treadmill interval: 20 minutes
These complexes are DAMN TOUGH! It’s all I can do to get 4 sets out without blowing cookies. I have to use a 45lb plate for most of the complex, and a 25 lb plate for the chops. I left my damn Ipod in my brief case. That made the treadmill crap even more torturous. I hate cardio, Cardio with only the gym stereo going is the Spanish Inquisition.
Two training days left until I depart to China. The trip will serve as a deload period. Then I can come back to a new facility and a new training regime. Who knows, maybe I’ll be strong again.
JW’s morning thought: Instructions should be read first, or not at all. Anything else is admitting defeat…
if the hotels where you are going have dumbells, you can do the Waterbury complexes from the same article. when i used to travel alot, out of 150-200 hotels, only 2 had dumbells, and none had barbells.
Oh, i just had an idea. go to the V-Diet page, fill it out and print the workout. There are some killer bodyweight complexes you could do, also by Chad Waterbury. I can’t do them cuz my bodyweight snuffs out my strength.
JW, I need to add the YTWL into my warmups. How long does it take you to complete??

Thanks Mj. I have stayed at these hotels before and they have plates and dbs. I didnt think about the V-diet protocol. Thats a good idea.

YTWL is like 2 minutes. I use a pair of 8 lb dbs to complete it

Sounds like a no-brainer. I should be doing these. Thanks
Bon voyage, mon ami. Hope your trip is profitable.
Thanks Hel, Thats mighty kind of you.
Overslept again this morning. Dammit. Oh well, I only missed the workout that I hate the most. Squatting in a smith machine. I took the daughter to ballet last night and ran around to the new gym. Its going to be a blast. Lots of iron, Hammer Strength and they don’t mind you dropping DBs. Some big strong dudes and dudettes in there. I think its going to work out good in October.
JW’s morning thought: They laughed at Einstein. They laughed at the Wright Brothers.
But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown
Must be the weather. I’ve been having a hard time getting up as well.
Glad you’ve found a new gym. Just being in a better equipped place, with serious lifters around, will help pick up your game.
Unfortunately, the only members at my gym are 3 and 5 years old, really short, and never do more than 2 sets.
Have a safe, successful trip!
Friday morning workout
Rubber band dislocates: 15 reps
YTWL: 8 lbs
Tumminello Complex: 4 sets
Treadmill interval: 20 minutes
Last workout before getting on the big plane. These complexes kill me. I don’t think I’ll ever get past 4 sets. I am completely used up and a whupped puppy after these. I’m doing more reps on YTWL rather than increasing weight. I’m dreading this sales trip, but looking forward to returning and starting at the new gym. Hopefully I can find a direction in my training.

Thanks for the travel wishes LS. I think your gym members are the best kind!!

Safe travels j_willy! Looking forward to seeing what you get into in the new gym when you get home.
So, in China, is takeout food steak and potatoes?
