Rugby World Cup 2011

Ouch, no Carter = big sigh of relief from the rest of the tournament. AB’s are still VERY good and dangerous, but losing Carter is probably the worst thing that could’ve happened to them. Weepu and Slade are several classes below.

As for the teams, the ABs have always had the best team. But still…

Piri Weepu is underrated.

Great win by the Irish!
Not one to gloat, but I predicted this on the first page of this thread!

Can I get an apology from all of those who doubted???[/quote]

I didn’t doubt (not openly anyway :-)) but well predicted and well done the Irish.

Was by far the best game I have seen so far in the tournament.

LOL at not one to gloat, but here is a great big gloat anyway.

Speaking of gloating…

If Ireland beats Italy, Australia will drop into second place in pool C and will play SA in the semi-finals.

Damn Wales v Ireland is going to be a good game. But the game of the quarters will be SA v Aus - as I said before what a match up for any rugby fan, particularly an AB fan. If France can change something up then we’ll have an awesome weekend next week. The ABs basically have a clear path to the Finals but you can bet there will be plenty of nervous kiwi fans in any ABs match from now on.

typo - meant quarter finals.

Now it begins. Predictions anyone?

I predict a large amount of suck from the Australian team.

And a large amount of win from SA.

Are we going to see a NZ vs SA final? I hope so.

Unless Argentina can upset NZ and the winner of AUS/SA, it’s guaranteed to be a Six Nations vs. Tri Nations Final! Odd how that all played out.

Ireland are nailed on underdogs!!sure we’re just there for the craic…

^
I thought Ireland were favourites for the QF…? (The very reason I’m worried)

i know…im trying to sway it the other way to our more natural and comfortable role of plucky underdogs!!

Damn… going to miss some of the games…

They don’t play Rugby on American channels. I’ve checked Espn and nada…

Going for the All Blacks but I’ll always be down with Toa Samoa first and foremost.

Good to see more Americans getting into rugby.

WHY am I only finding this thread now?

Wales to beat Ireland…hopefully.

Australia still look like winning, despite the setback against Ireland. They, like England, are masters of peaking as the tournament progresses. NZ’s major weakness - all intensity for four years…and failing to peak where it counts.

So far been very impressed with the standard from the minnows, especially Georgia and Japan. Both must look to be serious competitors in the next 15-20 years.

It’s probably been said…but what do you call 15 men watching the RWC final on television?

The All Blacks…
