I can’t see either team mounting a serious try in the WC. Wales were poor, and though strong in defence, that job was made easier by Englands complete lack of creativity.
I still dont think you can base it off these games. IMO, instead of testing new players, he should have picked the players he knows are gonna be there at the WC. Get a running start so to speak.
I don’t know if anyone posted this but nbc is showing 3 fucking games… are you shitting me? Meanwhile universal sports is covering like 6-8 others… all of which feature USA or Canada… plus a “bonus” semi-final game. Wow.
“Wales star Gavin Henson will be sidelined for the start of the Rugby World Cup and is likely to miss the entire tournament after undergoing surgery on a dislocated bone in his right wrist.”

Well after today’s performance I feel a slight bit better about SA’s chances.
Brussow was dominating the breakdown.
Is that the 6/7 who played in the lions tour? Quite a short player but built like a brick shit house? Im so glad he’s back from his injury if it is him. He was a star in the making during that tour.

The one and only, 6 (since in SA we switch the numbers for blind and open). If you can watch the game do it. Habana was also back to his better days. The whole SA team tackled the living shit out of anything that moved
I missed the game as i was out, was it a full strength NZ team? Im glad SA fielded a full strength team (by the sounds of it)
With the friendlies nearly over, im pretty sure none of us are gonna mount a serious challenge. France looked sharp from what i remember (i watched it at a bar and was pretty pissed). I dont know whats happening with Ireland, but no doubt they will pick up their game when they play us, like usual…

Nowhere near a full strength team.
They played their slade gambit at pivot…with pretty mixed results. I’m not too sure the young guy can step up to international level.
NZ actually looked the better team on attack all night.
Very good defence from SA…but all they had for an attack was steyne’s kicking.
When the real heat comes on them I think they will tire before the full 80 and then the holes will begin to open up.
What are people’s views on their own country’s world cup squads? I genuinly cannot believe Richard Wigglesworth is being taken as 3rd choice scrum half in place of Riki Flutey. Especially considering we have 2 quality full backs, one of which started his career as a 9 (Foden).
Talk of Toby Flood or JW taking over at 12 in emergency’s just frustrates me. I dont think I’ve ever seen Toby Flood take a ball at pace and get over the gain line. Is there any reason Tindall can’t play at 12 with Tuilangi outside of him? Tindalls been rock solid in defence and having a player of his experience within the team is always going to give you a big advantage. Its just his lack of pace that lets him down now. This was especially apparent in the second Wales game.

If anyone is in Christchurch (NZ) and wants to hit the pub end of September to support France with me. Let me know :D.
French supporters in N.Z. would be about as popular as mullet flavoured icecream after the last World Cup, no?
