You concerned at all about putting this all over the internet though? hah[/quote]
…no, not on an US based site, i’m not. I do avoid dutch sites, i don’t post grow reports there altough, as long as you’re careful, you can’t be traced by the police…
Week 4 update: …turns out that a batch of substrate, a custom mix of soil and bat guano, isn’t mixed properly. Or at least something has gone wrong and people who bought bags of soil from that batch are noticing deficits and burnt leaf tips, especially ‘rust’…
…and ofcourse i’m one of those people. Thankfully i didn’t wait too long before asking advice at the growshop, so with plenty TLC the yield shouldn’t suffer too much, altough the ladies won’t be pretty, proud and green, but slightly worn out…
Week 5 update: inspite of the soil issue, these little buggers continue to get fat. The angles of the pics gives the impression that they are taller than they are, but i’m not going to hold that against them. They are short, fat, they stink, they stick and shed dandruff like crazy, but you know what? I’m damned proud of my girls…
Ephrem, ever tried something called Hydroponics? It’s basicly growing without soil, but with nutrients in water (wiki hydroponics) much like an aquarium. I’ve read about some people getting anywhere from 2-5x the yield they would with soil…
I was thinking about doing this (gonna start growing soon, I want to have soaked up enough info before I start) but I’m guessing it’s harder to do it like this.

…sorry Rick for replying so late, but to answer your question: no, the space i have available is not sufficient to accomodate a hydroponic system. Also, the time, effort and attention one has to pay to properly cultivate plants like this is far greater than i’m prepared to invest. For a first time grower though, except when you have very green fingers i guess, hydroponics could be out of your reach. There are so many variables to take into account, even on soil, that without a mentor, the learning curve for succesfull yields is steep…
…just remember; depending on what you are planning, even a one lamp situation asks for an investment between 600 and a 1000 euro’s…
Week 6 update: leaf degradation increases rapidly nearing the end, and brown hairs are already appearing, yet we still have 3 weeks to go. Buds are hard, sticky and smell heavenly. They are forming warts, which is a good thing, so we’re heading for the end stretch. I’m giving them extra plantfood, budbooster and a little pk13/14 just of offset the deficiencies in the soil so i won’t have to harvest prematurely. Enough talk, budporn we want:
