Whats the garlic for??? I have grown next to banana patches before(roots fighting for space) and had a weird flavor added, is that similiar???
It’s been a while…But I always used fluorescent lights for vegetative growth…One 650 I wouldn’t worry about the electric bill but I don’t know about room temp…I guess it depends on how close it is to the cuttings…If you draw you’re water the day before you water with it and let it sit uncovered you don’t have worry about PH much…I would stick with 18-6 veg, 12-12 budding…I messed around with 6 hours light, 12 hours dark during budding trying to lessen the budding period and most of my clones went androgynous…I’m no grower anymore, but I like a bit of a smoke on occasion.

…no, someone said garlic in the soil is good to prevent disease. What kind of disease he didn’t say, but that doesn’t matter, i love garlic and think it’s fun to grow some too…
…let’s see if this vid uploads. That gives a better idea of the closet’s size…
I think you will get a much better yield if you give the plants more space during budding…I forget the diameter of the pots I used…but unless you get the plants a good bit more space between them you won’t yield nearly as much as you could have…Can’t tell if it’s the lighting or not, but the clones look a little yellow…If memory serves, that’s likely an N deficiency…I’m not sure how to correct that if you are going 100% organic…but I always used chem fertilizers on the foliage to fertilize until budding and never had any chem taste…At this point you will yield OK, but if it’s a mostly indica strain and you get them more space it should be really good…Good Luck.

…it’ll be allright. They had a rough time adjusting, and the yellow leaves just die off. I have sprayed them with fertilizer and they’ve responded well. It’s still too early for them to develop some kind of nutrient deficiency, but i’m not too worried about that either, just you wait and see (-:
…as for the yield; i intend to trim them pretty hard. This means that each plant should develop one large cola, instead of many smaller ones on sidebranches. This way you can have more plants in a smaller space, and still have a good yield. Obviously i’m a beginner and am still looking for the perfect set-up; 1 gram per watt…

Week 2 update: they are growing nicely and look healthy. The first buds are appearing as you can see, and i’m curious as to how the buffertabs will hold against traditional nutritients…

Beautiful

Week 3 update: they’ve nearly stopped growing. The tallest ones are about 50 cms, not even 2 feet, so i really have to give them a larger period to veg next time. I knew this ofcourse, but nevermind. They look very healthy; i’ve only given them tapwater and the buffertabs that releases nutrients slowly over a period of time do seem to do their job. Quite pleased with that. Buds are forming nicely, no sign of pests and other illness, so here goes the budporn!

Two thoughts from reading the thread:
First is the use of tapwater. You don’t specify if you are using straight tap water, or if you are letting it set 24 hours or so to let any trapped chemicals diffuse out of the water. When I’m in a place that uses lots of chlorine in the municipal water, I bottle it and let it sit overnight before I drink it. The bubbles on the side usually float to the surface after a tap on the side.
Second is the use of garlic. My mother was going on about something called ‘companion planting’ and this sounds very similar. The theory is that some plants create waste products in the soil which are necessary nutrients for the companion plant and the companion plant reciprocates. We plant beans alongside corn without pesticides or fertilizer and it seems to work well, as an example.
It should be noted that the seeds from C. Sativa are nutrient dense and do not contain THC. Grind them up and mix them with your protein shake!

…the quality of tapwater in Holland is very high. It has very little additives and a neutral Ph of around 7. So straight from the tap, not cold water though, into the earth it goes. The fact i’m growing in one big tub has a big advantage that the soil can selfregulate, and watering from beneath [through a drainage pipe] instead of from above allows the plant to draw water from the soil as they need it…
…the garlic didn’t make it. Don’t know why, perhaps the cloves were too old, but i put them in, like you said, to get some synergy going between them. There’s always next time (-;

EDIT: You may be aware, but cannabis was recently upgraded to class B drug, here in the UK. Probably to deter the home cultivation of the drug, which has become very popular in recent years.
However, this won’t deter the chines/vietnamese/etc from renting houses and turning them into cannabis factories, I’m sure.[/quote]
…damn, didn’t know that. Your home office gives this absolute bullshit excuse:
Why Class B?
Classing cannabis in Class B reflects the fact that skunk, a much stronger version of the drug, now dominates in the UK. Skunk has swept many less potent forms of cannabis off the market, and now accounts for more than 80% of cannabis available on our streets, compared to just 30% in 2002.

[fuck 'm, and their laws]
lol that’s awesome.
You concerned at all about putting this all over the internet though? hah
