So I have to be at work at 6am this week and next… meaning I have to be at the gym at 3am… it’s freakin early, even for me…
SLDL 1x10x45, 1x8x95, 3x8x105
Seated leg Press 1x5x90, 1x5x180, 1x5x270, 3x5x360
I used I different leg press this time and it just felt weird, like it was too big for me. When I would push off to turn off the brake it was like I had to push it the extra little bit with my toes and when I was at the “bottom” of the lift I was stopped by the machines limits. Needless to say I am going back to the other one.
BB Curls 1x8x40, 2x8x50, 2x6x60
NG DB Curls 1x8x30
Preacher Curls 4x5x45
I just wanted to see what these were like. It was all boobs and biceps in the mirror, no camera, sorry.
Single Leg Split Squats 3x8x40
I think I used 45lbs last week… oops…
I think my numbers will suffer this week and next due to the extra early hour though I may adapt and do fine. I am not worried about regressing in the least though, I think as long as am working to my max or close to it or at the very least coming close to failing toward the end of my sets then I won’t lose anything.
One Arm DB Rows 1x5x40, 1x5x45, 3x5x50, 1x5x55
Upright Rows 1x8x40, 2x8x50, 1x7x60
HS Lat Pull Down 1x10x90, 3x8x140
Corner Shoulder Press 1x8x25, 2x8x30
these felt so hard today…
Cable Rows 1x8x70, 2x8x80
Tricep Pull Over 1x8x40, 1x8x50
I didn’t think my workout was that hard this morning but it has really taken a toll on my blood sugar. I wish I could jsut go get a glucose IV and walk around all day. I just don’t feel like I could eat another bite if my blood sugar continues to get low…
I started out feeling kinda sick today so I kept putting off hitting the gym but finally I sucked it up and went… oh and I’m glad I did…
DL 1x5x135, 1x5x155, 1x5x185, 2x5x205, 1x5x135
I wanted to go heavier but I really was not feeling great.
CG Bench Press 1x10x45, 2x5x95, 2x5x105, 2x3x115
Goblet Squat 2x8x70, 1x8x75
Tricep Pull over 1x5x50, 3x8x40
I was hit on today at teh gym… I think. He came up to me, like 6 inches from me, when I was at teh bottom of my 75lb goblet squat to tell me I was “hard core”. I really couldn’t speak at that moment…
I smiled and said thanks and went back to my work out. He then approached me to ask me if I was a Scorpio… I said no and then he asked me, yes he actually said those words, “what’s your sign?”… The freaky thing is that he looked like Joe Piscopo… I thought I entered an 80s time warp…
He promised to get back to me next time with the info as to my astrological placement… great…
To make it even better he had his son with him, about 13 yrs old. Who inbetween sets would massage his fathers neck and shoulders and spot him on his DB Press.
I may feel sick but it was so worth it for that experience, lol
I always have my best work outs when I don’t feel like going to the gym it seems.
That is pretty funny, I think I would have choked if someone asked me “what’s your sign?” Did he have the freaky 80’s Joe Piscapo hairdo as well?

I wish I could have had a better DL work out though. I quit earlier then I normally would have.
He had a red hankerchief tied around his head, priate style…
ARGHHHHH!
Bench Press 1x6x95, 3x5x115, 1x2x135, 1x0x145, 1x2x135
I’m not sure if I failed or if my spotter thought I was going to and grabbed it just in case but I really though I might have been able to fight it up… maybe next week with a different spotter…
HS Iso Row 1x8x180, 1x8x200, 1x8x230
HS High Row 1x8x160, 1x8x180, 2x8x200
Inclined DB Press 1x12x35, 1x10x35, 1x8x40
NG DB Press 2x8x40, 1x6x45
The spotter thing ticks me off, if my husband isn’t with me I generally ask someone and I tell them do not take the bar unless it is going back down and sure enough at a sticking point they grab it right away and rack it. TICKS ME OFF!
How did 145 feel for you?

He asked me if I wanted him to initially pull it out for me and I said I didn’t. So when I first picked it up I thought it felt heavy, then again I have never picked up that much weight before. I brought it down and touched my chest and came up to what I believe was half way up. I started to grind my shoulder blades back into the benched to drive it up and then he grabbed it. SO I really don’t know it I stalled and was going to fail or if I stalled and was going to grind it out.
Ahh well, I always will have next week ![]()

I usually don’t have a spotter so when I do I take advantage and do a heavier weight and I do like it when they pull it up for me.
I do hate it when they “save me” from the weight though…

I’ve kind of yelled at people not to touch the bar. Having said that, next time someone offers to unrack for you, take them up on it. I’ve gotten used to it from our club and I find it much nicer. I find I’m in a better position if I don’t have to set myself up to unrack it. Maybe I’m just getting spoilt.
So what is your sign? That’s a great story. It’ll be even greater when we find out you’ve started dating. I’m a Scorpio by the way. My birthday is November 18. Do you think Joe would do a chart for me? You could get him to email it to me. Also if he could tell me what my compatible signs are, that would be even better ![]()

Yeah, I probably should have taken him up on the offer, I bet it may have made a difference, though of course I don’t know, damnit! ![]()

My though in not having him unrack it for me was that the next week when I did it, if I could do it all on my own this week, I would know it was all me and I wouldn’t have to ask for a spot until I was ready to go up in weight again. But yeah, I should have said yes.
If your a Scorpio I bet he would totally be into that, lol. He told me the next time he saw me he would tell me all about what my birth date meant… I’ll just relate in to your general direction next time I see him…
SLDL 1x12x45, 1x10x95, 1x8x115, 1x8x145, 1x8x95
Plated Loaded Hack Squat Machine 2x8x90, 2x5x140, 2x5x160
I just thought I would try something new, I can’t tell yet if I liked it though.

Preacher Curls 1x8x45plate
DB Curls 2x8x30dbs
Single Leg Split Squat 3x8x45dbs.
I also tried this today on the HS Plate loaded Squat. I really believe that machine is to big for me. If I stand where I am supposed to my leg can’t reach the bar behind me and if I move back I have bend wierd when I squat down… ![]()
This last week has been crazy at work…
One Arm DB Rows 1x5x45, 3x5x50, 1x5x55
Upright Row 1x8x50, 3x7x60
HS Lat Pull Down 1x8x90, 3x8x140
Corner Barbell Press 3x8x25
Cable Rows 2x8x70, 1x8x80
Tricep Pull over 2x8x40, 1x5x50
So I skipped out on DLing this week. I know it’s not an excuse but I am just to tired. Next week shoul dbe a more normal week and I willbe able to get back in my normal groove.
I was running late this morning but I did get everything but one exercise in.
Bench Press 1x10x45, 2x6x95, 4x5x115, 1x4x125, 1x1x135, 1x2x135
T-Bar Rows 1x8x55, 3x8x65
HS Iso Row 2x8x180, 2x8x200
HS High Row 1x8x140, 3x8x180
Inclined DB Press 1x12x35s, 1x10x35s, 1x8x40s
NG DB Press - this is where I ran out of time…
No biggie. I really want to give 145 a go on my bench press but this morning was not that time.
On a somewhat related note… anyone else having trouble with sleeves, short or long, fitting their biceps? I don’t mean this in any kind of bragging way because as far as buying clothes goes this is really limiting my options now. Summer is good, tank tops. Winter on the other hand… Maybe I can hurry up and lose alot of body fat and my arms will shrink a bit? Maybe I could just get bigger sizes and get a tailor? It’s kinda frustrating because I am finally able to wear smaller sizes, well mediums, and I am getting smaller but my arms are making me buy large and x-large clothes for comfort.
So I guess no one else has that kind of issue with their clothes…
I feel beat but I had a pretty good workout this morning.
SLDL 1x10x45, 1x10x95, 1x8x115, 1x8x145
Seated Leg Press 1x12x180, 1x6x270, 2x5x360, 3x5x450
Barbell Curls 1x8x50, 3x6x60
I somehow can’t get past 6 reps though…
BD Curls 1x5x30
Plate Loaded Preacher Curls 1x8x45
Single Leg Split Squat 3x8x45
I was happy with my lower body workout as when I was leaving I was having trouble lifting my legs to walk correctly, so I guess I worked hard. My upper body portion was kinda here, there and everywhere outside of the barbell curls…

Hey Ronda,
So I certainly don’t have the issue with long sleeves, but with some models of short sleeves I do. Anything that’s made to be “tight” around the upper arm basically cuts off blood circulation for me and I do not have nice big biceps at all!
With me, I lost a bunch of weight, bought new clothes, started lifting, lost more ‘size’, but gained in places like my arms. I now have a few shirts that I can’t wear because they are too tight in the arms or that limit my range of motion in them.
Not sure what to do if most shirts you try on have this issue. I love buying my small/medium shirts now and I’m not sure if I could get back to buying large just to fit my arms
Is it a certain brand/store that you find this issue, a certain style of shirt (ie. button up dress shirt)?
For this winter I’ve gone for more ‘sweater-shirts’ for work that have give in the sleeves instead of the traditional button-ups.

It’s not an issue with all my shirts but it is enough of one that it keeps me from wear clothes I like. I really don’t think my arms are the big at all but my clothes seem to. Your right though, it is more certain styles.
