lol, yeah, I know, that pic would belong on a totally different thread of this site :stuck_out_tongue:

teehee!

Today was much beter then last week, at least here in the gym that is. I didn’t feel nearly as weak as before though I am also not as strong as I could be at this time in the morning. I think what really woke me up was the fact that I got pulled over on the way to the gym because I didn’t turn my lights on… yep, I’m a dumb ass…

Bench Press 1x10x45, 1x8x65, 1x8x85, 3x5x95, 5x4x115, 1x1x125

T Bar ROw 3x8x55, 3x8x45

HS Iso Row 3x8x180

HS High Row 1x8x150, 2x8x170

Incline DB Press 1x10x35, 2x8x35

NG DB Press 1x8x35, 2x6x40

I had all my lights on today like I am supposed to so I made it to the gym on time

SLDL 1x12x45, 1x10x95, 1x8x145, 1x10x145 (w/ straps), 1x8x145 (w/ straps)
My hands are so weak when I go to work now that I think I may have to use the straps to give them a break, which really doesn’t make sence at all…

Seated Leg Press 1x10x180, 1x8x270, 2x6x360, 2x5x450
So even though I know I can push 450, higher even, I don’t think I am going to any more, my knees really don’t like it. It is more important to me to have a functional body then to be able to that. I think I will have up the resp at a lower weight, perhaps through that I will find I can reach 450 with pain that lasts through out the day.

Barbell curls 3x8x50, 3x6x60

DB CUrls 2x7x25

SIngle leg Split squats 2x8x40

I think I may have mentioned here that I had trouble with the back extention… thing, that it was too big for me. I mentioned this to the gym staff and today I found out that they have ordered one that adjusts to shorter heights and leans at a 45 degreee angle instead of you having to hang off it. Yay!

yay!
Hope you have a good rest of the week without getting pulled over, lol…

Today went ok, at least I am not feeling all weak like I was last week…

HS Lat pull down 1x8x90, 3x8x110

Cable Row 3x12x70

Upright Row 1x8x40, 3x8x50

One Arm DB Row 3x4x50

Corner BB Press 3x8x25

So… It seems alot of the serious female lifters are slowly leaving this forum. I can understand that this site is geared toward men, thus the Testosterone :), becuase they contribute the most money to Biotest, and I don’t have a problem with that because as far as marketing goes it makes sence. I started this thread as a way to just keep track of what I do and some place to ask questions and to just talk to others, men or women, about goals and lifting weights.
I’m not going anywhere for now, I want to wait and see where the site goes. I really do like it here for the most part, but I am disappointed that so many serious female weight lifters do not feel they belong here anymore, and with good reason unfortunately…

I am really pleased with my workout tonight and I even got a video of me pulling 245 on DL, yay!
I am exhausted now though being that I have been awake since 3am…

DL 1x10x135, 1x5x155, 1x5x175, 2x5x185, 1x2x205, 1x1x225, 1x1x245
It’s not a PR anymore as I did it last week but I just really wanted a video so I did it again
Next week I will go back to endurance…

CG Bench press 1x10x45, 1x10x65, 1x8x85, 4x5x95

Goblet Squat 3x8x70
Considering last time I did these after I pulled 245 I thought I was going to puke, this time I felt pretty good. I am always amazed how these get my heart going.

HS Tricep Dip 1x8x90, 3x8x140

video to follow…

I thought this lift was funny because I rememebr making a face when the lift came up and then when I put it back down I was all smiles, lol

Yay! That was great. Not only did you make it look easy, your hair looked wonderful. (I’m always at odds with mine). I hope to follow you there next time I can test max. To 245 that is. My hair will still look like crap.

Great job on your deadlift Rhonda. You can definitely lift more. Are you allowed to use chalk in your gym?

Well you know in the end all that really matters in that my hair looks good. It sure didn’t feel easy. I was just trying to focus on not bringing my hips up first and I think I almost accomplished it…
245 means alot more from you because you weigh less and I totally look forward to seeing that

Thank you so much!
My goal right now is 300 but right at this moment that 245 felt hard, lol, I’m not sure how it didn’t look hard though.
I have never asked if they allow chalk though I have never seen it around. I think the one thing that keeps me from entering a competition is that my grip strength is horrible. At 185 and up all I can concentrate on is just trying to hold on and it makes my form go to hell. I only used the straps on DL and only for 185 or more. For a while I stopped using the straps but I wasn’t able to increase my lifts…

My max is a slow grind. Your speed looked great

Don’t ask about chalk just do it. If you ask, they will most likely say no. If you bring your own and don’t leave a mess, they might not say anything. You will notice a big difference on your grip. I use it for 185lb or higher. Damages my hands less too.

I was stunned the first time I used chalk. Suddenly I was thinking less (not at all) about my grip and entirely about my form and the lift. I’d never used straps and my grip really held me back.

I agree with Claire. Don’t ask. Just keep it tidy. I keep mine in a small tupperware container in my bag that comes in the gym with me. I chalk over the bag.

I emailed you about this but you can use an eco ball like rock climbers use. The chalk is colorless and it doesn’t leave traces like standard chalk does.

Then you can just leave the ball in your gym bag and stick your hands in the bag when you need it.

So if they never see it theres nothing to be upset about.

Thanks Joe!

I know absolutely nothing about chalk so I had no idea these kind of things exsisted.

I’ll have to go shopping around to find out where I can pick up an eco ball…

Bench Press 1x10x45, 1x8x65, 1x8x85, 1x6x95, 4x3x115, 2x1x125
I think I may be able to hit 135 at this point I just need to find someone to spot me, if I can’t get someone I can still hit it, it will just take a little more time.

T Bar Rows 1x10x45, 4x8x55

HS Iso Row 2x8x260, 1x8x280
I got to do that thing were the guy who was using the machine before was unloading after his max rep and I asked if he could just leave the weight on there cause I still had to warm up… nothing like crushing the poor guy’s ego :stuck_out_tongue:

HS High Row 3x8x160

Inclined DB Bench Press 3x10x35

NG DB Bench Press 1x6x40, 2x5x40
I was going for est of 8 with this one but I actually tried and failed to get the weight up after 5 or 6, I have never experienced failure like that, lol. Ahh well, at least I went up in weight, the rep number will go up eventaully too…

I keep forgetting, what grip are you using on those HS Iso Rows?

[quote]JoeGood wrote:

Overhand 'cause you told me too :stuck_out_tongue:

What is up at the gym? Usually at 4am it’s me and 2 or 3 others and a few cardio buunies. The last few days the weight room area has had about 10 people in it, it’s kinda weird. Though I do have to say a few of those guys do make it a bit more interesting

SLDL 1x12x45, 1x12x95, 4x8x145
This is one of those exercises where the chalk would be helpful. I can do the movement fine. I’m sure I can do more, I just have trouble holding on for a set of 8, which should actually be a set of 12.

Seated Leg Press 1x16x180, 1x10x270, 1x8x360, 4x6x450
I know I said the 450 was too hard on my knees and I wasn’t going to do it any more but… omg! so easy today! I am wondering if I should have just gone up but I think I should move up a bit more slow and just see how my knees feel. I’m sort of curious of what my max is on this machine…

Barbell Curl 1x10x40, 1x8x50, 3x5x60, 1x8x50

DB Curl 1x6x30
…yeah, idk why I can’t manage to do what I am supposed to with this exercise, I’m just bored with it…

Single Leg Split squat 3x8x70

A final thought…
Why does guy grunting his way through a hard set make me smile?

…yeah, I need to go on a date or something…
