Thanks Claire!
I did try 235lbs but I failed once again, though of course that was the second time I went for a PR so it was bound not to happen. I am very pleased ![]()

Hi everyone!
I’m here in AL and yesterday I got to go to the gym at UAB with my trainer.
I completely forgot the video camera but I got to 225lbs with my deadlift, yay!
It really felt was heavy, lol!
I think may have been able to get to 235lbs but my blood sugar had other plans so I am going to try again in a few days and I will try to get a video then ![]()
225lbs DL, YAY!

rondastarr,
TWO PLATES! WHOO HOOO! Well done, girl. Can’t wait to see you kick ass in '08.
I just got home today from my vacation and have finally uploaded my 225lbs DL video, here it is…
You made that look easy. Great lifting.
Diana
And there was me hoping to see you struggle for once! ![]()
Great lift Ronda.
Rhonda!!! Way to go girl!!! High five!! YOU MADE THAT LOOK VERY EASY.
Thank you everyone that commented.
I didn’t think that looked easy, lol. It did not feel easy either. I have a video of me failing to lift 235lbs if you want to see a struggle, lol.
I probably will not try another RM1 for a while as I am not training for anything specifically right now but we have hopes of going for 240lbs by then ![]()
Looked great. I agree it looked easy. Next time skip over 225lb and try for 235lb. You are doing awesome.
Claire

It didn’t feel that easy, lol.
Yeah that might be a good idea, though I think I am going to wait a little until I do that again.
That was still to easy for you. ![]()
How about a nice, even 250 next time?
Make sure you aren’t sitting at the bottom too long before you pull. It really sucks the energy outta you if you spend too much time setting up.
Also, I noticed that you use straps even on lighter lifts like 135lb or so. Why? Were you taught to do that or is your grip that weak? I do like straps for some things, but sometimes they become more of a crutch and don’t allow you to develop the grip strength you otherwise would.

My trainer mentioned that to me when I tried for 235lbs, that I was spending to much time at the bottom. I followed his advice and though I was not able to continue the lift I did notice a difference.
At the time when I did those videos my grip strength was that weak. I realized last week that it was increasing though and that I was able to do a few sets with out the straps. I am going to try to go as long as I can now with out using the straps and try to increase my grip strength the best I can.

I went to the gym twice while I was on vacation but today is my first day back to my regular workout… which I kinda changed.
I decided that I don’t want to do the Seated leg press anymore and replaced then with Single Leg Split Squats though I don’t know if that is the best replacement, I’ll have to ask my trainer for suggestions unless any of you have any ideas ![]()
I am still working on doing squats in the squating rack, thus the 45 and 65 lb squats. Apparently it is a totally different feeling holding the weight by yourself then having it positioned over ones body like with a machine
It is obviously something I am going to have to work to improve.
I recieved really good wrist wraps for Christmas so I am easing back into curl exercises not to mention pink gloves ![]()
Todays work out left my CNS a shaking quivering mess and I had to sit for a while before I could walk to my car. I will perhaps have to plan better next time.
So yeah apparently 3 different kinds of squats in one work out hurt the next day. No matter though, I kinda like it ![]()
Today went like this…
No wrist pain, no shoulder pain, yay!
Happy New Years!
