Well, it’s pretty obvious that Paul never attacks Romney but always goes after the person who is challenging Romney. But, I highly, highly doubt that the deal was for the VP slot. Why would anyone pick Ron Paul over say Marco Rubio? But I bet there was some sort of deal made for a cabinet position. And if so…great move by Romney.
Randy boy says ‘it would be an honor’ if Romney asked him to be his VP.
Looks like Constitution Randy is eager to be the establishment’s prison bitch.
Candy Crowley: There’s been a lot of talk that you and Mitt Romney seem to have a sort of…ah…mutual truce going on. Can we take that as you believing that Mitt Romney would be, if it’s not yourself, a good presidential nominee for the Republican Party?
Ron Paul: The only thing that I mention when people sort of press me on that is his management style. I think he certainly would have a more…ah…you know…ah…acceptable management style when you consider what I have seen and experienced from the other two candidates - I don’t think they’re qualified.

But there are a lot of people who do think that.

…if he(Obama) has to run against Santorum… well then I can see Santorum attacking Obama for not being Christian enough. Again, this is a turn-off to the same independents.
Quite the opposite. Santorum doesn’t want to talk about religion. He’s said that repeatedly. The media keep bringing it up and sorting through recordings from 20 years ago and so forth.
Basically the argument being put forth by so called ‘conservatives,’ is that Santorum cannot be elected precisely because he’s a practicing Catholic/Christian.
ZEB wrote:
Santorum, “I Was Basically Pro-Choice All My Life, Until I Ran For Congress”
Would anyone call this a flip-flop, or did he just change his mind?
Huffington Post now?
“He’s questioned President Obama’s theology”
He was talking about climate change of course. That’s a liberal beatup job.
The offending statement from 22 years ago includes this:
“government must be on the side of human life…I would…support the President in his opposition to abortion funding or to aiding agencies(such as the U.N. Population Fund) whose family-planning efforts have encouraged abortion…I firmly reject my opponent’s indiscriminate…” - that’s where it cuts off. The full statement is not provided. It’s not a flip-flip. 22 years ago he was not as strongly pro-life as he now is. He explained why and that was also used against him.

And that is the point that I’ve been trying to make to you guys for months now!
As I’ve been saying there is nothing that liberals hate more than a social conservative. And they will say and do anything to get Obama reelected. So you can imagine the sort of shape that Santorum will be in by November should he be the nominee.

Well at least you’re being up front about your hate for Mormons. I knew it had to be more than the fact that Romney is not conservative enough for you.
Glad that’s out.

Glad to see you’re upfront about your hate for Catholics. Trolling Catholic schools for footage of Catholic politicians (former, at that point) giving Catholic speeches from 3-4 years ago. But, if your Romney-bot programming could give it a rest for a damn second, the post wasn’t an attack on Romney. The posts (there were two) were evidence of the media’s ‘interest’ in things mormon. Obama may not attack Mormonism, but the media will ease it’s moral positions and ‘eccentricities’ into the spotlight for him. You know, the other discussion going on…
Hence the post of a NYT columnist mentioning ‘magic underwear’ directly above it.

Hey buddy I’m not the one who constantly post Mormon put down threads. And I’m not the one who mocks the Mormon religion with phrases such as “magic underwear.”
Just admit it Sloth. You slam Romney as much for being a Mormon than for not being conservative enough.
I believe at this point that you dislike the Mormon religion so intensely that it causes you to dismiss Romney out of hand.
Now don’t get me wrong if we were voting for a new religion for America I would not be voting for Mormonism. But what we are voting for is a leader who can pull us out of this mess. And that someone should have executive experience and also business experience. The only person running that fits the bill is Mitt Romney.
Why don’t we choose a leader regardless of his religious beliefs?
The press is now all over Santorum and by super Tuesday will have just about killed his candidacy. But if you think about it they’ve been all over every candidate. And the only one who has been able to consistently stand up to the press and pull solid numbers along the way has been Romney. And this in the face of not only hte press attacking him but his fellow candidates attacking him as well.
There’s a reason for that.

Romney reminds me of a lawyer/used car salesman. Do not want. Hope Ron Paul starts making some gains. Since Sarah isn’t running, he’s the best one left.

Yep, you’ve sold your reason in order to back Romney. The comment about magic underwear is FROM A NYT COLUMNIST. It is offered in light of the comments here, that Obama won’t mention Mormonism. And, that he wouldn’t because only on Republicans think about such things. Wrong. Liberals, independents, and the mainstream media do Obama’s work for him.
This stuff doesn’t fly.
I dismissed Romney because he’s the worst type of empty-suited political opportunist out of the entire species of politician.
TARP, Cap and Trade, Romneycare, Federal dollars for Romneycare seed money, 2nd amendment, hates earmarking politicians except for when he seeking federal dollars, and on, and on, and on.
The guy has vastly outspent his competition, is a run again, and still can’t clinch it
Oh, NOW you take this position? “Oh gosh Catholic Santorum is saying Catholic stuff at a Catholic school nearly four years ago. Oh, no!.” Take your accusations, put 'em in a pipe, and smoke 'em.
The left, “If you don’t support Obama, it’s because you’re a bigot.”
Zeb, “If you don’t support Romney, it’s because you’re a bigot.”
Save that trash for the 15 years old, Zeb. I’m too old to be backed down by this kind of crap.
I happen to know ALOT about Mormonism and it will be a field day even from conservatives. Mormonism is a science fiction/fantasy cartoon set to religion. No I do not mean in the way that they already view the true gospel. I mean so that Bill Mahr said in his movie that even by whacked out religious standards, Mormonism is in a class by itself with a history that is a leftists dream. I KNOW what I am talkin about. Here’s a quick bit that took me three seconds to dig up http://vintage.aomin.org/Mintract.html

Yeah, it’s definitly a problem for Romney. As to you mentioning the magic underwear deal, I’ve read it on other posts you’ve written. Whether you were quoting someone else all those times I do not know. What I do know is that you love to type it.
I believe at this point that you dislike the Mormon religion so intensely that it causes you to dismiss Romney out of hand.

Really now…I think he’s a pretty intelligent person and a decent leader. You don’t pull the Olympics up out of the hole by being a “empty suited.” Nor do you make a couple of hundred million bucks by being “empty suited.” As for being Governor I’m least impressed with that. But again he has more executive experience in one of his incarnations than both Santorum and Gingrich combined.

Yeah, he’s a politician but so is Go along to get along Santorum. How many times did he sell his soul when in Washington? Hey…I don’t dislike him for that, it’s how the game is played. The guy you’re looking for doesn’t exist.
Bush out spent McCain by about 10-1 and couldn’t clinch it for a while. What does that mean anyway? He went on to win two terms. Calm down man this is what happens in primaries. In the end we’ll all support the republican nominee. Bet you do!

Ha ha…I think Santorum wishes he had those words back. For the 3rd time, it’s not his beliefs that scare me. It’s his timing stating those beliefs. And it’s the press that will destroy him for his words (as they are now). In the end he doesn’t know how to play the game.
“I made lots of mistakes…I would do it differently…Hey you have to be a team player in Washington…”
As I said months ago, Santorum is not ready for prime time. Four more years of sitting around, or in a cabinet position in a Romney administration may help him grow.

Then stop posting things like “magic underwear” and then I will believe you. Otherwise, who knows man, you sound like someone who hates Mormons. And if you were one of the “kids” on this site I would have knocked you down and stepped on you months ago. But I don’t put you on their level save it, I never have.
