Well, your answer was double-speak and jibberish. What else can I say?
Well, we both know it wasn’t. We also both know that you are a bloviating toad who apparently doesn’t know anything about the topics you are trying to swoop and offer opinions on. Easy enough, so let’s be honest.
And, as dim and absurd as your posts are, you’re practically a recruiting tool for the Republican Party.

LOL, okay, have it your way: “both are private commentators who opine on politics”
???
I wonder how many people would say that Rush Limbaugh is a “comedian” if they were polled. My guess: Zero.

If Rush Limbaugh changes the name of his show to “The Rush Limbaugh Comedy Break” then you might have a point.
Otherwise, no.
Then you fall in the camp that liberal comedians can say whatever they want about republicans without fear of any backlash as they are “only comedians.”
You fail to recognize many things too numerous to mention on this one post. Suffice it to say that many, if not most young adults get their news from idiots like Jon Stewart.
Enough said – They need to be held accountable like anyone else.
Post back when you can give me some serious insight.
Let’s see, K2000 - you don’t anything about media ethics, and you don’t know anything about how insurance works (see other thread) - tell, me do you know anything about anything?
Otherwise, yeah, both are private commentators who opine on politics and make a business of it - Maher uses humor, Limbaugh tends to have more serious editorializing (though he uses humor, too). But they’re the same in terms of the standards they would be held by - which is that of private citizen exercising free speech rights who should or should not be penalized by others in the private sphere who disagree with their speech (via boycotts, etc.) - and if you hold one to a different standard in terms of how he refers to women, then, correct, you are a raging hypocrite.
And it is irrelevant whether Maher has a show on Comedy Central or not - the medium isn’t determinative, the message is. Left-wingers can’t hide behind the familiar trope of “hey, it’s just comedy!”. That get-out-of-jail-free card has been abused far too many times to try and protect the vulgar idiocy of left-wing “comics” who engage in the same kind of atrocious speech Limbaugh engaged in.

Who cares if Limbaugh is a comedian? It’s irrelevant to your own explanation that there was some difference between Maher and Limbaugh (which you said there was, because Limbaugh wasn’t “a comedian!”). For purposes of political speech and the principle of consistency in treating like things alike, there isn’t, dumbass.
Well, true, but you’re confused frmo whom it is emanating.

More idiocy.
Fact: Romney has stated that one of his first acts would be to get rid of Obamacare.
Fact: Romney is only going to get elected with conservative help.
Fact: Burning the conservatives by NOT getting rid of Obamacare would assure his defeat in 2016.
Fact: Romney is nothing if not intelligent.
Now run along…You just written two posts that failed miserably.
2016? You have to pass the 2012 hurdle first. And you’re going to have to win it NOT using Obamacare as an issue, because it will backfire on Romney. You watch and see!

I think the proof is in the pudding… 141 advertisers have pulled support from Limbaugh and other controversial radio shows like Hannity.
How many advertisers have pulled support from Maher?

Comments from people like Ted Nugent (suck on my machine gun, Hillary) and Rush Limbaugh are in two completely different categories.
They are not all just “private commentators who opine on politics”.
Rush Limbaugh is not a comedian or a musician.
Heh, it doesn’t make any difference. They are all private - i.e., they are not speaking on behalf of the government - and they are all the same for purposes of political speech. And if one calls a woman a derogatory name, it doesn’t matter if it is in a song, a speech, and stand-up routine, or a limerick - if one deserves a “boycott”, so do the others.
Hilarious. I am trying to think of a better way to convince people not to vote Democrat in a national election other than let people read K2000’s barely literate posts. Nope, can’t think of one.

You know Zeb I used to think you more intelligent than the Choir of numb nutted circle jerkers . But you like them do not care about right or wrong you just care about winning an unimportant debate
Are you sure Jesus said that ? I thought the Devil wants people to be just like him , he wants them to heal the sick and he wants to feed the poor :)
Pit, you’re so wrong on so many things this is pointless.
The rich pay too much in taxes. My facts were obtained from the National Taxpayers union google it and read up. If you think it’s fair that the top 10% should shoulder about 70% of the tax burden you should be carrying a sign and occupying wall street like your brothers. But you better hurry I understand that they’re running out of the very thing they wanted handed to them for free M O N E Y! LOL–What a bunch of sorry looking bastards. Most of them look like a good days work would kill them-- But I digress.
When the women went public she in fact became a public figure (as I’ve told you repeatedly). Yes, Palin is a much larger public figure, but there are no degrees in law which draw a line as to stature. Hence, Rush, while being very harsh had the right under free speech to call her what he liked (and no I don’t agree with what he said).
Bill Maher called Palin and many, many other republicans far worse names and has to date NEVER been called out by the media for it.
Obama DID IN FACT accept one million dollars from Bill Maher in one of his pacts. This makes Obama a hypocrite. You don’t like that but what else can you call it when he chastizes Rush for saying essentially the same thing Maher said about Palin. Just think about it Pit.
Yes, Jesus did say that. Spend more time reading the Bible (and some high quality books) and less time running all over the board trying to espouse liberalism which quite honestly you don’t even understand, and if you did, you wouldn’t believe in it.
I think the proof is in the pudding… 141 advertisers have pulled support from Limbaugh and other controversial radio shows like Hannity.

crickets
Er, let’s unpack your point. Fair to say the majority of Rush’s advertisers lean conservative. Fair to say the majority Maher’s advertisers (or supporters is more like it, not sure if he has straight advertising) lean liberal.
Rush’s advtertisers punish Rush for saying atrocious things about women. Maher’s supporters do no such punishing of Maher for his comments, and are happy to let him do it without consequence.

So what George Will says on ABC is weighted the same as a comedy sketch on Saturday Night Live? That is just plain stupid. Nobody with any sense believes that.

Not at all. Corporate advertisers want to make money. The reason they are deserting Rush is because they DON’T support his anti-woman message (she’s a whore, so send me pornography). Nobody wants to be associated with his toxic viewpoint on contraception. Except maybe you guys.

Sure it is the same. Some of the most important political commentary in history has come from satire. It’s no less important just because it comes out of the mouth of the comic. And, as far as treatment goes for decency, the issue is (1) we have a line in terms of what we consider acceptable public discourse, and (2) anyone speaking publicly who crosses that line should face repercussions, and (3) no, just because one person crosses that line in comedy doesn’t mean he gets a free pass.
But keep talking - this is highly entertaining. I’m thinking of starting a drinking game that somehow incorporates your posting of some of the dumbest statements on PWI in a long time.

Bullshit. It’s not all the same. This is demonstrably false in the example of the Dutch “Mohammed” cartoons which outraged Muslims (but conservatives said was no big deal, hey it’s just a cartoon). Cultural differences on the part of Muslims aside, you can’t play both sides of the issue.
You can claim that you believe Saturday Night Live and George Will are on the same intellectual level, but even children would be able to see the contrast.

Different issue - in that case, the cartoonists were being threatened with harm (death) and government censure. That was an issue of bona fide free speech.
I didn’t say they were on the same intellectual level, genius, I said they were the same for purposes of measuring public discourse and the line of acceptability when someone goes too far in terms of using off-limits language. If George Will calls Hillary Clinton a “bitch” on Sunday morning talk shows and some SNL-comic does the same, the effect should be the same among advertisers, supporters, etc. - disapproval, and a willingness to act on that disapproval.
As in, if you disapprove of Rush’s language re: Fluke, you must disapprove of Maher’s language re: Palin, etc. If you don’t, you’re a hypocrite.
Which also explains Maher’s response to all of this.
No, I opted against it - given the volume of barely literate, idiotic posts in your output, had I played that drinking game, I’d have been in the ER within the hour.
