Romney vs. Santorum; It's ON!

Who gives a shit if a comedian is liberal or conservative? If its funny its funny.[/quote]

But, there is an inherent problem with such people. And I could probably name 5 or 10 very big comedians that might be funny but in most cases direct a decent portion of their humor against republican candidates. And when they’re called out on it they simply run behind the mantle of “comedian.” That is a cowards way of getting a political message across while not taking any flak for their obvious political stance.

And that’s one reason that I don’t watch these guys anymore. From Jon (the lefty) Stewart to people like Bill (the scum bag) Maher. They have an agenda and while it may be mixed with humor unrelated to politics it is still an agenda that I disagree with.

They’ll never get a dime of my money or a minute of my time!

We’ll just have to agree to disagree on this one buddy. Good example --Bill Hicks, comedic genius, hard to argue that with most that appreciate comedy. Very hard on the Bush era Republicans, still hilarious on completely on point with so many other issues.

Maher–meh, not missing anything there, he is more of a smug ass to mewith little of his stuff being funny and NEVER critiques the other side
Stewart does at least call out the Dems on enough occasions, doesnt always hit it comedically but yeah you’re missing out on some gems by seeing none of it.

I’m not familiar with him but if he is picking on republicans more than the dems I’m not interested in subsidizing his career.

And we don’t have to agree to disagree- YOU MUST AGREE WITH ME!

Tell me why it’s okay for liberal comedians to hide behind the aura of “comic” and get to say whatever they want and not be called to task for it.

It’s fine if you think that, but don’t lump Louis C.K. in with the very political comedians. Louie makes his jokes talking about how he’s fat and sucks. The schtick he has about kids is totally awesome, mostly because society has painted the whole act of raising kids as something saintly and sacred at all times. He says they suck because sometimes they do and to be fucking hilarious. Yes, he’s over the top, it’s funnier that way.

He doesn’t just take cracks at Bush the whole time.

Seriously, nobody better say anything bad about Louis C.K. or I’m telling on them!

That’s enough fanboyism, but for srs, if you have Netflix, check him out!

Really Zeb? Man you’re missing out on some great wit/humor in Bill Hicks. Maybe just google his “war on drugs” bit. He goes off on smokers having the right to smoke anywhere and general praise for cigarettes, which I totally disagree with but it doesn’t make me miss out on the best of what he does offer.

Oh and did you see the Colbert Report the other night with the “countdown to liking Mitt Romney” bit? If not hulu it, but yeah you were right.

Many in show business look at republicans as vile people. Therefore I look at them as being lying bastards. And as you say, I’m right. It’s easy to tune in and forget about what their real agenda is (and it IS don’t kid yourself Maher gave 1 million to the dems). But it’s harder to take a stand and not view it or buy it. And if enough people did that we would have less lefty comedians trying to make republicans look bad and not being held accountable because…“they’re only comedians.”

Where are all those jokes about Obama?

Oh yeah…that’s not cool.

Limbaugh is a political commentator who was called to task for his comment and has lost money due to advertisers leaving his program. Santorum is a republican candidate who will either lose or gain votes based upon what he says.

The liberal rat pack of comedians are outside all of that according to the MSLM. They can say whatever they want when they want hiding behind the banner of “comedian” and they rarely suffer any repercussions. Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a whore and no one batted an eye lid. Is this not disgusting because YOU and the other lefty’s don’t like her? Is fair play thrown aside ONLY when something is said against a republican?

And if you want to talk vile-- how about a President that promised “Hope & Change” for the masses and has given them 36 straight months of unemployment over 8%. The highest number of people on food stamps ever! And an almost 16 trillion dollar debt that our children and grandchildren are stuck with!

The democratic party’s mantra is take from those who have earned it and give it to those who have not earned it and don’t deserve it – They’re vile and disgraceful!

Now how many states ruled by democratic (liberal) governors over a long period of time (see NY and CA) have been financially successful? Oh yeah-- NONE!

Yeah…I know you don’t like Ronald Reagan (Yawn).

The Wealthy are paying record low taxes how does that back up your claim

No one wants to live in the syayes run by Republicans . Check out AZ.

The Republicans call them selves conservative if they are mean to the poor but if like Ron Paul they are true conservatives then they are called crazy.

Jesus Christ said that not Satan (satin is a fabric). Or, do you know this and you have such low regard for Christianity that you’re trying in your own pathetic way to be funny?

When the “student” launched herself onto the national stage she became a public figure. Now go look up the rights that public figures have when someone calls them a name, like you just did to Rush Limbaugh. There is soooo much that you just flat out do not know…ASTOUNDING!

Here’s one calling her a “dumb twat” close enough.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGE3G5kfzps

How come Obama didn’t want his daughters to hear such language? Is everyone on the left a hypocrite?

The top 1% pay about 38% of all taxes. It becomes doubly unfair when people like y o u…reach up and take a swat at everyone who actually makes the economy work by claiming that the rich while paying most of the taxes (top 10% pay over 70% of al taxes) are still not paying enough. Jealousy is a horrible thing Pit.

Can’t come up with a state run almost exclusively by democrats over a long period of time that are financially well off can you? HA! Didn’t think so. New York and California are two great examples of what happens when the democrats take over—POVERTY – HIGH TAXES FOR EVERYONE — and of course HIGH DEBT!

Unless you’re in a union, a homosexual or someone on the public dole you have no reason to vote democrat!

Which are you Pit?

Bill Maher is a comedian, and his show (“Politically Incorrect”) is on Comedy Central.

If Rush Limbaugh changes the name of his show to “The Rush Limbaugh Comedy Break” then you might have a point.

Otherwise, no.

A Republican vote for Romney is a vote for keeping Obamacare.

Way to take your party platform (repeal Obamacare) and throw it away.

Otherwise, yeah, both are private commentators who opine on politics and make a business of it - Maher uses humor, Limbaugh tends to have more serious editorializing (though he uses humor, too). But they’re the same in terms of the standards they would be held by - which is that of private citizen exercising free speech rights who should or should not be penalized by others in the private sphere who disagree with their speech (via boycotts, etc.) - and if you hold one to a different standard in terms of how he refers to women, then, correct, you are a raging hypocrite.

And it is irrelevant whether Maher has a show on Comedy Central or not - the medium isn’t determinative, the message is. Left-wingers can’t hide behind the familiar trope of “hey, it’s just comedy!”. That get-out-of-jail-free card has been abused far too many times to try and protect the vulgar idiocy of left-wing “comics” who engage in the same kind of atrocious speech Limbaugh engaged in.

Let’s see, K2000 - you don’t anything about media ethics, and you don’t know anything about how insurance works (see other thread) - tell, me do you know anything about anything?
