Romney vs. Santorum; It's ON!

I was wondering this. I remember being around these parts a few years ago and thought you were in the McCain camp. I could be wrong.

Wow he is like the only reasonable person in this part of the forums then. Everyone else is either a Communist Atheist or wants America to take over the world in the name of Christianity.

The people on this Forum can be some of the most damn frustrating people in the WORLD with what they post.

But guess what? I wouldn’t change a thing.

One of my favorite quotes is by Frank A. Clark:

“We find comfort among those who agree with us; growth among those who don’t.”

I haven’t found this more true than on “PWI”.

One last point; I don’t tell anyone…even those close to me…whom I vote for. And I don’t discuss my Religious beliefs on Forums and with everyone I meet. That doesn’t make me “better” than someone who chooses to reveal and discuss both. It’s just a choice, and no more.

If there was a vote for least antagonistic poster on PWI, it would go to the Lion King.

The “McCain” thing, Christine:

After the GOP convention of 2007 (which came AFTER the DEM convention); it was my feeling that Palin really HAD become a “Game Changer”; and that her and McCain had the momentum going into the election.

BOY was I wrong! And as I stated above; I keep who I eventually voted for to myself.

(It’s all good, Push! You’re one of my favs too. Your views on the Constitution have left me re-evaluating my views more than once!)

I think a person has to like to “rumble” and “mix-it-up” with people. I may get a little pissed when someone tries to tell me what I believe (or whom I vote for!)…but I just don’t LIKE contention and argument. I’ll state my views; maybe defend it a time or two…and will ask you what YOU mean a few times…but then I’m done.

(Oh…and I’m not GOOD at debate, contention and argument!)

You sure are hung up on this “winning” deal.

Are you really that competitive where this is all that consumes you?
It was simply an observation on the Lion King. Nothing more or less. Not meant to judge you or I or anyone else on these forums.

Please don’t read anything more into it.

This in a nutshell is why PWI is awesome…and the reason why the majority of T-Nation will not have any fun in here.

Well, no one absolutely KNOWS who anyone votes for right? We have a secret ballot system in the US. So based on that no I do not absolutely know who you voted for. But, it’s my guess that you sure didn’t vote for John McCain. And i’d place some big money on that!

Mufasa
Ya know Mufasa, I’m gonna give you sincere credit for this statement and say that I had admittedly come to view you as a sorta milquetoast, non committal, won’t take a stand, disingenuous weakling. (reluctantly, because I’ve known you a long time and I always liked you) I do hereby revise that view. There’s nothing wrong in itself with not liking what you’re willing to admit you’re not very good at. We all have those. I don’t know how much you care, but this bumps you up some on my respectometer. I’m glad.

Mufasa
That was a real live compliment. And not a sarcastic one either. An environment like this can be rough on somebody with your type of personality. By which I do not mean to imply inferior now that I understand it better. I’ll give ya credit for showin up.

Santorum wins tomorrow’s voters, I’m thinking. But, by enough to erase Romney’s absentee lead? ‘Operation Chaos’ might, MIGHT, help with that. We shall see. Plus, as close as it is, turnout will have a lot to do with it. Are Romney’s folks going to be enthusiastic enough? Romney is going to take Arizona. That wasn’t really in doubt. But, yes, Michigan…Romney is bleeding money trying to secure a win there. A state, like Colorado, that he was supposed to win, too. If he loses Michigan watch money for his official campaign become a problem.

And Romney better count his blessings Newt hasn’t dropped.

The Battleground poll indicates that the debates, caucuses and primaries appear to be taking a toll on Romney, with 51% of independent voters holding a unfavorable opinion of him, compared to just 33% who see him in a positive light. Among independents, Romney trails the president by 22 points in the hypothetical general election matchup. Forty percent of independents have a favorable view of Santorum, with 32% saying they see him in a negative way.

There isn’t much more to say on this race until after today.

Santorum’s calls to democrats, is very clever and smart gamesmanship, and it may work. The primary reason is because democrats who are pro Obama do not want to see Romney nominated as he has the best chance to beat their chosen one. So the dems may come out in force to vote for the one man who will surely get destroyed in the general election, as he will be painted as a right wing nut case, Rick Santorum. And if Romney loses Michigan look toward many more weeks of republican mud slinging and a very happy Obama.

If Romney takes both Arizona and Michigan that momentum will take him to a victory on Super Tuesday and it is over.

I will admit that I wrote Santorum off early and didn’t look into him at all until recently. (As I’m not voting in the Republican primaries, why bother with someone who I thought didn’t have a chance, I guess I was wrong.)

The more I know, the less I like.

I do not think he can win the Republican nomination let alone Presidency. I do not understand why Romney just does not point out the Religious Zealotry that he is portraying ?
