Oh and btw I’m hating hook grip more than ever lol. I threw straps on my last two top sets today and they felt so much faster… not sure if the crushing feelin on my thumbs is making me feel like it’s slow or I’m just crazy :thinking:

Set the hook properly. Give it time. Don’t overdo it. We trying to condition your tissues and pain receptors not annihilate them. Even if it’s just the first/last rep of a couple of sets is good.

Edit: Bryce Crawfish of Calgary Barbell fame said using straps then hooking ur last rep of sets was a good way

hook grip is feeling alot better. still uncomfortable but much more bearable. its not messing with my ability to apply force to the bar now. these singles at 375 felt weightless.

Big pulls brother. We still racing to 250kg? I dunno if it’s a fair competition anymore:

I’m using a StrongArm Sport DL bar and bumpers right now so feels much removed from calibrated plate pulling almost different enough to be an accessory lift.

Can lift more weight with the meme/cheat set up though a solid 10-20% we’ll see where the top end is in a month or two. I think I can pull like 270kg on this set up with a decent training block or two behind me.

I’m 100% sure I’m pulling 250KG come May 16. I’ve built quite a bit of fatigue working on other heavy physical labor jobs around the house being quarantined. With 475 moving the way it was even being tired and on calibrated plates… no doubt in my mind…

I’d love to strap up and pull with bumpers to see what I could pull throwing in the cheat codes lol

I pulled 240kg x 4 on the calibrated plates last time I went big on deads albeit with straps. I woulda coulda shoulda hit 250kg on the day but wasn’t planning to go heavier than 240.

I feel like my bench took the biggest hit from corona virus off period. May just be a trough in the performance cycle as I build again but feels pretty trash rn. My current rack is pretty shitty have to do a half press to get it out. 140kg may not be there as soon as I’d have hoped.

I feel like this lock down period will be relatively productive for me so we’ll see where we end up. Are u gon do a mock meet or anything?

Yea, I have a meet planned for May 16. That is likely going to be postponed and if it is I will do a mock meet to set new training maxes.

Easy day today. feeling drained the past few days with all the extra work around the house… On a positive note, picked up a John Deere riding mower. going to love taking it easy cuttin the grass now. Summers in the southeast US are brutal. Our backyard has quite a bit of grade change as well. Good riddance to the push mower lol

Time is money as well lol. My push mower took me over an hour to cut my yard. Did it in just under 30 minutes yesterday and it was my first go at the riding mower. Weve got 9 months of cutting grass down here… thats going to save me about 20-30 hours each year…

more time for gains in the gym. better wellness for training too. that push mower beat me up
