Yes, Obama’s record is so terrible that ‘Chicago is a racist dog-whistle’ actually becomes an argument. Anything but the economic record.
Yeah… It has gotten out of hand.
Like the media wants you to feel guilty for not liking him, like they want you to vote out of shame you might be a racist if you vote for a white man over a black man…
Good thing obama’s election in 2008 proves America will judge people based on the content of their character and not the color of their skin, otherwise this race baiting might work.

Unless you are here and see it for yourself, don’t talk to me about theory, as I see the shit in front of me daily.
Apparently you are ok with pot stores being within walking distance to schools and daycares. Awesome, we can make sure the caretakers of those kids get loaded up right before they run their afterschool programs.
You think making one decision over another has no consequence, dude I live here and see the shit all the time.
What seems apparent, is that the grass is not greener on this side, with pot being legalized.
Your idea about taxing the drug, and using it to pay for drug treatment, sounds like a dog chasing it’s tail.
Legal weed = more weed smokers = more drug treatment. It’s a wash (at best). Drug rehab is expensive, WAY more than $1.89 lb of weed would bring in to tax coffers.

Question, has the scene in Colorado been as bad as you say it is in California? I was there just a few weeks ago and it seems to be working just fine (no I don’t live there but I do have friends and contacts living there). I don’t see a jump in crime rate or anything based around that, or tons of potheads ruining things. Could it just be Cali’s fucked up culture?

He is blowing things out of proportion. Have there been robberies yes but, it is not a daily thing. There will always be people who will try to commit crime when given the opportunity just like they do to liquor stores, mini-marts and gas stations. There was a recent article that showed that in areas where there were marijuana dispensaries crime has not jumped. Every robbery does however get a lot of coverage making it seem worse than it is.
About them being close to schools, I have seen online complaints and news coverage of dispensaries 600ft and 1000ft away. What is the issue? Liquor stores are on every corner and it is not a rare occurrence to see drunks/homeless there. Having a medical marijuana card does not allow you to light up where ever you please or show up to work high, it is not a free pass.
The problem with your bullshit is that you are not telling the whole story.
My own brother got a medical marijuana card for BACK PAIN. Not cancer, fucking back pain.
As far as liquor stores, how many kids get fake ID’s and get liquor pretty easily ? Well, you just now added pot to that mix. You and I both know that happens, and will happen even more.

Cali is a fucked up culture because you have the dumbing down of laws, letting more havoc run free.
Some of the worst schools, highest taxes, worst business climate 8 yrs in a row, most welfare and illegal aliens… this all translates into a downward spiral for culture and progress.
People say California is the 10th largest economy in the world, the problem is, it used to be the 5th.

Just curious ? IMO Marijuana is a harmless drug with more beneficial applications than aspirin and besides it is fun . What is the harm ?

Let’s use a disclaimer and remind folks that it permanently lowers IQ in teens who smoke up?

Just curious how did they choose their specimens ? Is it possible that the kid most likely to smoke pot comes from a home that would produce a lower IQ. IQ tests are a study of acquired knowledge .
I live here because I grew up here, and I am not leaving until someone brings the exit-bag. I like to think I am a part of a small group who keep Cali from going off a cliff, as we are $648 BILLION in debt, when you add up all the unfunded pension liabilities, and social entitlement programs that we love to hand out.
Within 12 months, the City and County of Los Angeles will be declaring bankruptcy, as the City boats a $258 Million deficit and a $27 Billion unfunded pension debt (keep in mind this is a CITY, not the state).
I think the glorifying of pot is just stupid and foolish. The only people I see touting the wonders of weed is a guy who looks like he just crawled out of a dumpster. I have never found anyone who has smoked it to be admirable or impressive to me. Most of them resemble Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Effin’ amazing! For this reason ALONE, I’m voting republican. At least the republicans recognize it as a problem that needs to be addressed.
However, Obama saw it as a problem as well — back in 2008. What was his campaign promise regarding cutting the debt? He’s done the opposite!
As much as I like Romney/Ryan, I am still jaded from effin’ Corslime in NJ. Everyone was soo happy to get a smart financial guy in as NJ Gov. Corslime sold out to the unions and NJ ended up in MORE debt. Obama promised to address the debt and the US ended up with MORE debt. What makes us think Romney/Ryan will REALLY address the debt if elected?
P.S. Most of the other issues are trivial compared to this one…and unecessary distractions. Tax the RICH? Are they joking? Talk about the REAL problem and a REAL solution!!!

I am guessing the people you know that smoke weed have you pegged as some one who has never smoked but knows everything about it.
In RE: to Cali I am guessing it is you attitude more than actual living conditions . IMO you would find as much fault if you were to like Alaska. If I were unhappy in AZ I would leave .Good luck with that keeping Cali from jumping off a cliff

It will be interesting to see how the next President and Congress responds to this crisis.

And back pain isn’t a big deal? Fuck you buddy.
Every once and a while my back will give out and I spend the day lying on the floor in agony. I’ve lost bowel control before because of back issues and have had to lie in my own piss and shit for hours because I was in too much pain to get to the phone.
Maybe your brother is a lying sack of shit and exaggerated his back pain to his doctor. Or maybe he actually has serious back problems. But back pain is not something to be treated lighly.

Why will it happen more?
If you believe it is hard for kids to buy weed then you are completely out of touch. The only way you can keep your teenager away from pot is if they don’t want to use it. The end.

That is the point I am trying to make with all the effort , money and human costs (GOOD PEOPLE GOING TO JAIL) you can still buy it any where easily . The only thing accomplished is a strong organized crime element

Agreed…the true cost is incarcerating a shit load of people who have been arrested for non-violent pot possession…this is a HUGE cost that we don’t need. We need those cells for rapists and murderers.
Also, I would rather have those DEA agents hunting meth labs than some dudes pot farm…at this point the recources should be going to the harder drugs…and pot is not the biggest problem.
It’s a matter of cost-per-unit effort…when you have limited resources, you should put them towards your most pressing problem…meth, cocaine, heroin, prescription drug abuse, bath salts ect.
Some pot users might be a bit of a durrrp…but they are almost totally non violent.
