I would pay good money to get to shop at a big grocery store in Texas. It literally takes me HOURS to get to a place that can’t hold a candle to a Metroplex or Austin store. Albertsons was the bomb when I lived there.
Man. Those were good times. Eating samples, looking at exotic wonders…
This HEB is ALWAYS busy. It a good sized store but the one on Marble Falls is Huge. Walmart is never busy but they don’t have “the good stuff” like HEB.
This one even has a litte chef’s kitchen where they cook stuff up and let you try it ![]()
Randall’s used to be good for grazing. That’s what we used to call it. Like a bunch of cows just grazing around a field. ![]()

HEB and Central Market has surpassed anything out there today. They are the big guns of grocery stores here now.
HEB has been my local place at some point, too.
Albertsons had TONS of samples every weekend. Like, “Get in the car, kids, we’re going to go have lunch at Albertsons!” (And buy two carts full of food.)

I can remember the one Kingsland back in the 80s when the first thing you saw when you walked in the door was the black and white labels of generic food. Beans. Macaroni. Beer.
Ahhh… the good ole days. At least it didn’t take me 10 mins to find plain tomato sauce. Now there are 50 different kinds. Did people get too lazy to add garlic, basil, etc… ? Drives me nuts!

Have lots of thoughts running through my head this morning. I need figure in some easy/off days if I want to increase the weight. I am closer to 60 than 50 so I can’t do both anymore. Think I will take my lil chainsaw and go cut me a walking stick so I can go for a walk around the turn around tree.
Anyway, I am going to go find my paint and brushes and have myself a play day baking cookies and painting something cute…I hope. It’s been a long time since I painted anything. ![]()
