Well crap! The wind shredded the plastic on my gym, along with a few shingles off my roof. Had the a/c on the last few days, now it’s 36…lol

I was wanting to do my first meet Mar 24. But it’s been one set back after another. Guess the universe is trying to tell me I’m not ready yet.

No way will I be where I want to be in 4 weeks. I told myself that the first one would just be practice anyway. It’s looking doubtful. Ugh!

Have to wait till this storm front is over before making repairs.

In an attempt to carry on, I went to all 3 “gyms” in town yesterday thinking I could get a temporary pass till I get things fixed. Well, no, they don’t really do that. The month to month fee is $60 plus an upfront membership fee. The crossfit one is $90 Oookay!
Decided I would be willing to pay for a month. The first one, has lots of machines, no squat rack, or deadlifting.
The second has a squat rack, no deadlifting. The crossfit place has no bench because they train functional fitness, and you have to either pay for a trainer or join the class. Which is only held a couple days week at certain times of day. Hmmmm…

Think I’ll just have to wait. Weather is supposed to warm this weekend. Let’s just hope the wind isn’t blowing hurricane force.

Your in an expensive zone. If you’re really desperate here you can go to Planet Fitness for $10 and I can think of at least four other at $35 a month. Our 2 community centers have weight rooms, too. Crossfit is the flavor of the weak and expensive everywhere I’ve seen. Does the gym you’re joining say, “no deadlifting”?

Yes! The lady at the desk said no. The other has a sign.
I’ll just have to put my big girl panties on deal with fixing mine, it’s got me this far. I was just thinking it would be an easy solution to the current situation. I have no desire to sign a one year contract to use less equipment than I have at home.

Don’t wait to do a meet. Just go do it. If you wait until you think you’re ready, you may never do it.

Congrats getting 85x2. Gyms can be so inflexible with their contract and exercises allowed rules. Do you live in a cold area? Up here in NH it would be very uncomfortable training outside right now.

I was thinking along those lines. I am not big on crowds so there’s a good possibility this will be the only one. I might as well go see. Won’t know until I try!

Thanks! I live in Texas. This is the first “winter” we have had in years. Last week it was 80, and this week a couple of days it hasn’t gotten out of the 30s…lol It wasn’t bad this morning at 45, but the rain kinda makes it yucky. I just need to suck it buttercup!
