Rise Of The Slaya 2019- Next Strongman Comp prep and fixing my hip

Yeah man!

True. Looking up a little is fine but i look up to much throughout the lift and theres no need for it on rdls either. It causes me to hyperextend at lockout a bit so I’d rather not do that. Plus its safer.

RDLs should not be taken to failure! Keep the weights moderate and reps high. Cluster sets, sets of 7-10, and back off sets after deads are good.

Yeah i don’t take them to failure. I like doing them in the 5-10 rep range. Really hammers the posterior chain. And Whats a cluster set?

You do 2 reps, rest 30 seconds, and do another 2 reps, instead of doing 10 reps in a set. So 5 x 2 and 1 x 10 equal the same volume of weight lifted, but the 5 x 2 sets are going to allow you to use, say, your 5RM max without fear of injury rather than your 12RM. Work heavier and work safer.

You do Agile 8 by chance? It helped my mobility a whole lot.

that’s pretty cool

Never done it. I just looked it up and i think I’ll give it a try. My mobility is almost back to normal and most of it has returned thank god, because well apparently when you dont lift for 8 Months it sucks.

Do you do agile 8 as a warmup or whenever you feel like it? Once per day i like to do some stretches and foam rolling etc to work on posture or whatever muscles are tight or sore.

I do it every day, even when I don’t lift. That and cold showers help keep soreness to a minimum.

I’ve been watching your axle lifts pop up on my IG. You’re looking good my man, you are getting the whole push press thing down pretty well for an axle.

Full cleans like a weightlifter does it is black magic fuckery that isn’t worth learning if you are just using it to get explosive. There’s cool benefits to full cleans and snatches (coordination and absorbing force) but they’re incredibly frustrating and take a toll on the body when you could just be getting outrageously powerful with something that is ‘harder’ to mess up (there’s a right way to power clean too that’s less painful and easier on the joints that lets you use more weight).

Personally I’d power snatch from the hang or blocks if you have access to a bar and bumpers. Better for power, takes less of a toll on the body, and easier to learn how to do it pain free than power cleans (and messing up on them is less likely to get you a really bad injury).

Nice. I take cold baths sometimes and there easy but man… i just wimp out of cold showers.

Thanks man! Axle push press would have to be one of my favourite lifts right now.

Just do them dude…they don’t hurt after the first week. I’m going on Week 3. Gotta do them every day for them to work though.

Agile 8 is good, but I prefer the Rusin dynamic warm ups available for download (free) from his website. You might wanna give those a try as well

@Koestrizer @theonecamko @T3hPwnisher @BOTSLAYER @MarkKO in regards to a belt, is a 10 mm better or is a 13mm better?

A 10 mm will break in way faster, and is probably all that you’ll need for the next few years. Remember you’re going to grow too, so you’ll probably need another belt in two to five years.

I’m very happy with my Pioneer so far, but I also have zero complaints about my Titan Brahma or my Inzer Forever. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy Harris.

Ok cool. I’ll go with the 10

i was going to go with the inzer, but pioneer is on sale on loaded lifting so it’s cheaper by $30. Plus theres lots of colours to choose from
