$319 for a belt, holy shit. I spent $60 on mine haha
Yeah. I have the cheap ass one from Dick’s Sporting Goods. It’s leather (I think?) and has a two prong buckle and I am nowhere near pushing it beyond its limits. It’s the Harbinger 6" padded belt. Works fine for me and it’s $29.99.
I looked at lever belts because they look cool and it’d be nice to release the pressure between sets but I really can’t justify buying another belt.
I mean look at it… its sexy af. I might not get it though, i want other stuff too like elbow sleeves and knee sleeves etc and if i buy the belt then it will be a couple of months before i can buy more stuff
How long have you had it for? The reason im willing to drop $$$ on a belt is i want the best out there for training and for when i compete.
Looks up Brahma belts by Titan. Lever belts are around $150-160. Still pricey, but alot cheaper and just as good if not better
In fairness, those are Aussie dollars. US it’s like $225. Which is still twice the cost of an Inzer lever belt, and at that point, I’d rather just take the 2 minutes it takes to unscrew the lever and screw it back on.
Ahhh, forgot not everyone in the world uses freedom currency.
I think I’ve had it around four or five years now. I don’t use it all the time though. I’ve only used it once since I finished SGSS the first time around and that was in mid June. I’m sure it’d wear out faster if I wore it every day, but it’s leather. What is there to wear out?? The holes?
I’m guessing most belts wear out at whichever holes you use all the time because it puts a slight crease in it when it goes through the buckle. Mine shows very little signs of wear and tear.
Spending less now could buy you a few years and leave room to buy the other toys you want.
Go for an inzer Lever forever belt. Very high quality and lower cost. I have never used a sbd belt so I can’t speak first hand but I just can’t imagine what that belt can do better than an inzer to justify such a price difference.
Alright. I’ll look around for one of those
I think the Inzer lever belt is what @BOTSLAYER bought awhile back. It’s more affordable than that $319.
Do you know how to measure for it? Some sources say you have to brace your core like in a squat etc and then measure, others say just measure how your belly is normally?
I don’t know. The good news is that there are quite a few holes in belts so you don’t have to be perfect.
That is good. Monday i think I’ll go to Bunnings which is right next to the gym and pick up a measuring tape for my belt.
good job
Thanks man! I had a couple more reps in the tank too. So far Log would have to be one of my favourite strongman events.
then don’t buy it. If you have ANY kind of budget for equipment, it’s not a good value. seriously, if it interrupts cash flow for multiple months, it’s a stupid purchase. I make a solid 6 figure salary a year. I can afford to buy the best stuff. And even I wouldn’t have bought this belt at full price. The ONLY reason I have it is because my last belt got stolen, and a friend sold me the SBD at half price because it didn’t fit him anymore. It’s only marginally nicer than the belts that are less than half its price.
Belts like Pioneer and Inzer and a few other brands will seriously last a lifetime. Save your money for other things.
Thanks man. I’ll definitely just get the inzer

Good job Duke! Try to get your hips involved in the clean. Right now you are practically doing a bicep curl with a big hyperextension in your lumbar. The axle can make it awkward but try to get your legs and hips more in it.
