Just out of curiosity, how do you judge recovery? Is it energy, soreness, or do you wait till you see signs of over training (mostly fatigue & weakness because true over training takes a while)?

It would be very difficult to quantify, but best way to explain would be “ability to exert consistent degree of effort”. My energy is shot most days, especially training wise, and I’m always sore, and this last training cycle I even saw regression on a few lifts, but through it all I was able to continue putting in the same degree of exertion. When I’m under recovered, I’ll reach into the well and just come up dry.

my recovery is great and i’m getting stronger and bigger and my fat is definitely not going up, so i’m in a good place right now i guess. do you think push the volume anyway or keep it how it is? i’m training with very little volume right now.

Oh and you know it’s a great day when your favourite band drops there new album. Finally!!! i’ve been waiting ages. listened to it twice already

Push it when you are trying to gain muscle and your current approach is not allowing that to happen. You drive progress with volume, but if your current approach is working, ride it out.

I second Pwn here.
If something works keep doing it. When things stall out add a bit more volume and always push hard.
Eat clean good food, get your protein and don’t eat to much junk. You’re a teen, teens must have junk once in a while but don’t get overboard.

Thanks mort. I’m feeling pretty good from the food I’m having right now! I couldn’t handle junk frequently because i feel so much worse when i do so i dont know how other people do it. Junk food can be addictive i guess so i try avoid it alot. Now and then i’ll have donuts or icecream or whatever but i prefer better food choices.

Donuts and icecream isn’t that bad. It’s the pizza, burger, fries, falafels and such thing really high in fat.

You’ve got me there :joy: I love pizza. I have one or two after Strongman class usually, post workout.

Pizza’s are really calorie dense - but as stated you’re a teen, teens thrive of that stuff.

Yeah they are. 1100 calories per pizza and thats the small $5 ones i usually buy

Wow. Every time i do any stupid ass chest shit something bad happens.my elbows feel retarded as hell and i felt something off with the swiss bar yesterday but i kept going. Silly me

Strongman class 1hr
40 min walk to gym

Before class i warmed up with some lat pulldowns, facepulls, foam rolling and over and backs. Then we warmed up with axle squats

Axle Wagon wheel deadlift
This didnt go well my lower back and hamstrings were really fatigued from thirsdays romanian deadlifts, and i was supposed to be doing triples, and i could barely hit 1 rep on the weight i was going to do my work sets with. Thats okay i just backed off and did lighter triples.

Log clean and press
Clean each rep.

50×3 sets of 3 Solid pr, second time doing log
40×6 PR

End of class.

Then did
Fat grip lat pulldowns 4×10
Fat gripz hammer curls 2×10
Facepulls 2×12

Holy shit one of the first times i could get a MMC with my lats. (Because of fat gripz on pulldowns) Magic i tell ya. All in all a good session. Happy with log!!

Thanks man! lots more to come. I feel i could lift a lot more weight in alot of things, just my technique is holding me back. As technique improves, stuff will be shooting up!

@flipcollar i was reading back through my old log to see what information and stuff i could pick up on or things i could learn from. I remember how i wanted to buy a belt and there was a discussion about belts and you said the absolute best belt was The SBD Lever belt. I’m thinking about buying it just i don’t know what size to get?
