Ah all this fighting talk makes me wanna go kick something… I’m so conflicted :disappointed_relieved:

Dont even get me started on knees…

Irish why dont you just train mma and lift as well? You did muay thai but mma’s easier on the body.

CoC gripper work

1×12 PR got ×12 reps pr with my left so matched with my right, soon I’m going to order the next level up.

2×10 then 5 assisted closes after each set

3×15 hand bands with the level 2 green band

To be honest time and money lately have both been pretty stretched. MMA is not cheap in my town.

Also I’m trying to bulk up a bit and without eating (and spending) a huge amount, I need to keep my calorie expenditure down.

I find that grappling/wrestling is the way to go for me

Me too, just feel like I’m flailing my arms at people otherwise

Exactly - with grappling you can just focus on gripping and pulling and it feels a lot safer overall

When I did MMA it was so aggravating because I was the only female and I had to beg the guys to get rough with me. I appreciated that they didn’t want to hurt me but I was asking for some hardcore maneuvering. They were really helpful with my training and I learned a lot but because they couldn’t get past worrying about breaking me and it was aggravating me I thought it best to stop. That’s when I went more toward boxing :boxing_glove:

Edit: and also sweat that wasn’t mine and man parts to the face helped that decision lol

Food
4 pieces of toast
Bowl of cereal
2 apples
2 bananas
2 steak pies
Plate of roast turkey, potatoes, peas gravy, cauiliflower cheese
Bowl of pudding
1l milk

My co-workers do mostly BJJ. I know a guy who has a gym but I can’t convince myself to spend the money. It’s like $70/month for one session a week, maybe two. That’s about the same as our family membership with childcare at the Y and I can go as much as I want.

I know it’s cheap if you view it as an hourly rate with a coach but doubling our gym membership budget for one session a week is a tough step for me.

Ah okay understandable. My MMA costs $105 for the year lol.

I really wanna try wrestling, it seems fun.

You’d be guite good at it being a big strong guy n all

I bet @Irishman92 wouldn’t mind getting rough with you :joy::joy: . Jokes

Nah in all seriousness, at MMA there’s one girl that goes and shes been training for 6 years, she could beat me up if she wished but when we were training together last week i was so worried about hurting her. It’s just male nature to protect the womanz or something lol.

It sucks you had to quit and they wouldnt be rough. :frowning_with_open_mouth:

How long did you do boxing for?

That’s a shame

Ah 1st @planetcybertron now you :joy:

I may be chatting to our resident rural chick a bit, but I’m sociable and lovely to all you people!

Also I can’t be too rough right now coz she is injured hahaha

Wrestling and grappling in general doesn’t require strength.

Once you become proficient at it, strength/size and knowing how to apply it correctly is invaluable but grappling, in fact all combat sports, are dependent on you understanding the fundamentals of your given sport and applying it correctly.

You’re lucky your class doesn’t cost you upwards of 100-200 a month. They do here. It’s the main reason why I don’t do judo anymore.

Yep. I got my ass handed to me the first time i went bjj by a skinny kid whos being doing BJJ since he was little.

The week after that my partner was a bulky kid a little bigger than me but I’m stronger. (We’re both new to MMA and BJJ) I submitted him alot more times. I think if two people are of equal skill level the bigger/ stronger guy wins. ( theres weight classes for a reason)

Yeah, one of my friends is a real good wrestler (competed and placed well in the European championships) and in the gym he’s about as strong as my girlfriend. Kinda mind-boggling

Game of Footy at school

Had a game of afl so lots of running around in the sun for over an hour n yeah with small breaks inbetweg. Wasn’t my best performance, i only got 2 possessions which were marks. I got a really good mark where i sort of dived caught the footy then did a forward roll. Got a round of applause from the crowd haha and best mark of the game, wish i had it on video. Next week they’ll be recording the footy match to analyse our performance and see what we can improve on. Shame the game wasnt recorded today.

My agility really/ has always sucked, i run quick in a straight line but when trying to tackle other fellas i get super close then they run to the side/evade or something and it takes me a while to slow down or turn :joy::open_mouth:

I thought you were cool… Haha

Agility can be trained to a certain degree. MMA should help with it. Bulking and slow gym lifts do the opposite.

Lucky you don’t wanna be a gAyFL player right Duke.. Right Duke?
