Yeah il have to look around! Either that or just redo the 8 weeks that worked so well with my coach, Except il be deadlifting once every 2 weeks in my program. Since its three days a week it alternates like
Week 1
Overhead,Quads, overhead
Week 2
Deadlift, overhead, quads
Then week 3 two overhead days and one quad. Hopefully only deadlifting once every two weeks will work well, since deadlifts are very taxing to me. So I dont know what will work since its every 2 weeks. My reasoning for quads 1 day a week is because theyre really small. When I front squatted 150kg it was only because of how strong my core and back were. My legs were weak, that is why my back squat was only 10kg stronger because front squats are harder on the core and upper back. So if I build the leg size and strength I will be alot stronger and achieve my goal of 180kg front squat.
i did 6 months of dead lifting every training session every second day. i started with 5 singles at about 80% of my 1 RM. i think my strength curve is a bit funky tho, i can do 15-20 reps “cluster-set”-style at 80% but as i increase load i crumple really fast, i think this is due to that i might be neurotype 3 and slow twitch muscle fiber dominant. from your log i think you are just the opposite. the takehome for me from these 6 months was that my deadlift technique (read bracing) improved like a lot and i could eventually do 12 singles at 90% and feel safe, my max didn’t improve that much tho.
i think your dead lift can benefit too from high frequency training, but being some other neurotype and fast twitch muscle dominant you might want to use, say 5 lifts per training at 70% of a safe 1RM. for me it was great fun to train the same thing over and over again for 6 months but i’m neurotype 3, it might not be that fun for you to go on for 6 months, but say 6 weeks instead. just a proposal.
todays training
Wow finally good session where I didnt feel so weak.
Axle clean and press
40,60,70kg ×2. Beltless as well. My clean is really weak but press felt strong. Pr is 75kg×5 clean and press. So not far off which is good.
well I have a comp in like 2 weeks and the overhead medley is
80,90,100kg. So weights are ramping up. Heavier weights next week and deload before comp. The 70kg was real easy tho
Alrighty then, keep the motivation and energy for the next two weeks, but after that… please back it up a bit, I would hate to see you quit. You’ve got potential I think
Thanks man. Yeah I have enough to keep me going until comp, after that il be dropping to 3 days a week with higher volume/lighter stuff for the next 8 weeks or so.
yeah make the most of the comp but without destroying yourself, at least not before the comp
even if you don’t beat the others at the comp you will learn a ton about yourself, and you will show yourself that you are not a quitter, when a man has decided to do something it should also happen
todays training
Heavy week then deload next week.Holy fucking shit this training session was insane…
Axle push press banded
3×5 40kg
Axle Cleans
40,50,60 ×3
Farmers… now this is what was insane
Comp weight is 100kg×15 then 130kg per hand back
Farmers
100kg per hand ×15 meters
135kg per hand ×5 Metres MASSIVE PR. I could’ve kept going but it was very heavy and my left pec felt like it was about to tear, Coaches instruction was to just move the weight a few metres to get a feel for the super heavy weight. Plus I’m not going to risk injury. But comp is 10kg less and I plan on finishing the 15 metres. Anyways the world record farmers carry for u90kg is 165kg per hand ×15 meters. That record is mine! It’s going to come sooner than I planned
My farmers/ strongman events
is just very very good relative to my static lifts. I have an u90kg mate who deadlifts 260kg and his farmers carry 1rm is 135kg per hand as well, my best deadlift is a deficit 180kg like 3 months ago. So his deadlift is 80kg higher
Thanks man! Also turns out the record is actually a national record, I cant find any international u90kg farmers carry information. But yeah the aus carry is 160kg per hand ×15 meters.
