Rise Of The Slaya 2019- Next Strongman Comp prep and fixing my hip

Great news:
I’ve moved to a new place in the last week, found a room to rent with my own bathroom and toilet! My bathroom has a bath as well. Was sleeping on a couch in a loundroom prior and not sleeping much so this is great!

Hot Epsom salt bath 30 mins. Wow feel awesome after. Having one of these once per week

I started having these again a couple of weeks ago and they are indeed awesome.

Yeah they are magic!

How much salts do you use in each bath, stuff I’ve bought says 500g!

I think I used about 300g from memory. The box is 1kg and I used a third.

Christ… the amount of fatigue I was carrying was insane. Haven’t trained since last Wednesday (4 days ago) and I’m finally starting to feel normal.

Just wanted to note something interesting I talked about ages ago. CNS tap monitor app. You tap the screen as fast as you can with one finger in 5 seconds. The less fatigue you are carrying the higher your score. The apps usually have a save system so you can see your average score. Last week (wednesday) I was getting 28-9. Today I’m getting 32-3 taps.

Wow, watched the 2nd qualifier @WA strongman comp today. Saw a new Axle press wr u80kg. 141.6kg. Pretty cool

Also messed around with the sandbags, 100kg was light as hell and hit a new pb of 120kg sandbag carry with no warmup lol. The 1 and a half week off has given me the gains!

Todays training
I’m backk

Cluster deads beltless
90-120kg 5×5
Nice. Didnt say to do them beltless but I liked it. Felt like I could focus on bracing better. Will do alot more beltless to help bracing I think

Snatch superset snatch grip high pull
30kg snatch then 60kg high pull. PB on high pulls, pretty cool how at start of the last 12 week cycle I could barely do 50 for reps now could do 60kg for reps.

6×5

Some weighted hangs with 15kgto decompress
Dont roast me guys but I actually liked the high pulls today

Good session back after 1.5 weeks off

Welcome back young Duke

Thanks @simo74 taking it easy this week. Just doing technique work, conditioning and getting accustomed to training whilst not pushing it much this week before the start of my new 12 week program. Have done alot of talking with my coach and we analysed the whole 12 weeks to see what worked and what didnt, and what I need to work on. It’s going to take him all week to finish the program. very excited for next week!

First time my shins have bled from deadlifts! Keeping that bar close

@FlatsFarmer when you closed the #3 were you lifting as well? how can i train grippers and focus on strongman. i want to close the #3 but i dont want to impact my lifting to do so

So glad you’re back. How have you been?

I’m well. Life sometime takes over and chaos reigns but everything is going pretty damn good all in all.

I’ve been keeping up with you on IG a little.

That’s good to hear! Did you have that shoulder surgery?

I’ve noticed. Thankyou

Yeah, had it scoped out and cleaned up. Wasn’t anything they could do with the rotator cuff as the original injury was so long ago that the tissue was degenerated too much for them to repair without severely limiting my ROM. So shoulder feels great now but worry about doing too much pressing (will have to modify workouts accordingly). They basically debrided the joint and gave me some clearance in there to mitigate the impingement.

That’s great man. Shame about the limited pressing though. Theres lots of different exercises or specialty bars etc that you could do. Or is it just any pressing??
