I was scared all week of this session. I really hate heavy front squats because I feel like I’m going to die

Front squats
115kg×5 PR
×3 (supposed to be 5) I don’t know what happened but I started blacking out during rep 3 and my upper back/traps cramped like hell and now they feel strained. Had to rack bar. Started packing up front squats yet I had 1 set left :thinking:

I started saying fuck that I’m not a quitter il lift it for all the reps or I’m a weak failure pussy and il never achieve anything, no craps given if It makes me black out or not, Turned my earphones to max volume,I got angry as hell, All fear gone and then I repped it.

120kg×5 massive pr like a ten second grind on final rep.

Thanks man! Doesn’t feel good during but after its amazing lol. Front squats are the devil. It was one of those sets where you just Get angry and lift or die

3×6 back squats 115kg horrible form :frowning: I just can’t seem to get my squat looking sexy yet front squats are looking good.

50kg PR for 10×10

Farmers
90kg per hand 7 seconds Time pr
100kg per hand in 9 seconds time prand Lightweight baby. Very happy considering I had squats and 10×10 push press prior.

I’m going to farmers atleast 130kg per hand by the end of the year.

Dead ball carry 75kg ball
25,50,25,50,25 metres. This wrecked me… pr on the 50 metres. I’m definitely hitting the pools tomorrow for the sauna, Swimming and spa lol!

In sport today I rolled my ankle in volleyball. It didnt feel to bad so I kept playing but felt a bit off during the gym. Immediately after I finished my session it hurt like hell and now im limping. Looked it up and think it’s a sprain which I made worse by training… including putting 200kg of pressure from farmers on it :neutral_face:

Really scared now. Il see how it looks tomorrow morning but I’ve never had a sprain before

Don’t sweat it too much. It sucks but it happens. Put ice on it

Ankle sprains suck, but they’re very manageable. My advice is to let it rest for a day or two, depending on severity, then start using it to your fullest capability right away. Seems to speed up the healing process quite a bit over full rest.

I participated in a keg toss like 5 hours after spraining my ankle last year, it was very dumb.

Also, you’re looking pretty solidly built man. All grown up before our very eyes.

Thanks man. Mondays deadlift session is tempo work (Light) so should be Okay, Otherwise il have to do Seated goodmornings or something. Worst case scenario is next week just have to substitute exercises. Hopefully it isn’t to bad tomorrow morning.

Thanks man!! Just been putting in the work and reaping the results. My life’s new chapter is about to unfold soon when year 12 is finished. It’s crazy to think I was 14 when I joined this site, I love looking back and seeing how much I’ve changed physically and mentally, and at the same time disgusted with my earlier behaviour on here lol. This site and the people on here have impacted my life in an incredible way over time.

Oh I know there’s always a possibility for injuries. It is inevitable in strongman.

Sorry to hear about the ankle, but you’ll be fine. Limp around for a day or two, and then just be careful not to do any sudden sideway movements.

Thanks mort. I woke up today with no bruising and it doesn’t hurt as much so I think I got lucky. I’m going to keep icing it and elevating it but I dont think its sprained,if it is Its pretty minor. Weird how it was agony last night and I could hardly walk.
