Rise Of The Slaya 2019- Next Strongman Comp prep and fixing my hip

I have a massive urge to lift something heavy. I won’t though, i was getting all hyped up and saying to myself I’d farmers walk pr 120kg per hand tomorrow but i have to remind myself testing isnt improving. Save testing for competition for the most part.

Deep water day 3 week 3

Rope pullups 4×failure

5,6,8 pr nice, 6

Barbell Bent over rows
60kg 4×10 better than last week

Farmers superset keg
3×15 metres 85kg per hand superset keg carry ×30 metres. Found out keg weighs 60kg, its super light so in the coming weeks I’m going to build up to 3×100 metres with the keg. Footwork on farmers has been trash. Was going to work with 100-110 today but did lighter runs for footwork. Probably will continue this since footwork seems to have regressed. More lighter speed/long distance and medium weight/medium distance speed runs. I’ve built the strength needed for farmers now to build speed until april.

20 bodyweight situps superset 10 reverse hypers with 10kg. 3 rounds no rest.
Both were super easy. Situps were easiest they’ve ever been, i think because the 5kg weighted ones made bodyweight feel even easier.

Deep water Diet thoughts:

My acne/pimples seems to have improved alot. I think it’s cutting out all the junk from my diet as well as carbs. I’m also feeling really healthy. Energy levels seem to have adjusted too.

I usually deload next week but I’m not going to (Its not in deep water to deload), I’m starting to feel fatigued because I’m not used to volume. The coming weeks are going to push me. I’ll take a deload after the 6 week program is done so that’s in 3 weeks.

Todays training deep water day 4 week 3
Bench
3×10 55kg

Close grip
50kg 3×10

Log incline
40kg 3×10

Push-ups 3× failure
8,7,8. 1st week was barely getting 6 under fatigue. Progress. Bodyweight at 88.9kg. Looking alot leaner. I’ve been on the creatinezzzz so Im probably around 87ish without.

Deep water conditioning/ todays training

Arnolds crew changed to fridays at my gym so when I’m in there benching they’re training. Bunch of awesome people. Today trained with my mate and hes new to strongman stuff. Strong af.

Yoke 3×15 metres 200kg. Eh better than its been last few weeks. Mate got this weight easy for speed runs, expect him to jump up heaps in the coming weeks. Mates yoke runs were awesome for the second time hes ever done it. Helped him out but he did great.

Hows the yoke looking @T3hPwnisher @theonecamko @strongmanvinny2 @strongmanbrett @anon96032531 Besides footwork what else needs the most improvement/ set up or tips. Got a good quality vid for you guys.

Atlas stones. Technique/Teaching mate stones so did some singles . 80kg×7 as planned. Mate lifted the 140kg stone with no tacky and shit technique (lapped it). Jesus. I told him not to since should be working technique but i think in the coming weeks we’ll work with 110kg stone and 80kg for technique and when his technique is improved let him use tacky. In a few weeks he’ll easily be able to get the 140kg without tacky.

Good sesh

Seconding what Pwn said.

Also might help to place some tape on the crossbeam to indicate the center of the bar. You looked a bit uneven and it will certainly help the walks if you can get a bit more centered.

That’s probably my upper back. One sides longer than the other. I’ll try to be more aware of the centre.

What everyone else has said. Although I will say your yoke is looking better now.

Since I’ve started doing it weekly it’s really improving. I just have to keep the volume low. 2-6 sets and nothing too heavy.

At a relatives who has a barbell and weights so used that. Didnt have my belt and stuff on me but couldn’t be botheres going on the train to mine then going to my gym.

Mate consider watching some old Matt Vincent vids on you tube or some of Spencer Tyler. Matt is an ex Highland games world champion, and spencer is a current champion. Both are strong mothers and have some great content on you tube. Throwing rocks is a lot harder than it looks and worth practicing at least a couple of times before you rock up!!!

I’ll check them out! I love youtube.

Some of the stuff is very technical. I don’t really care though it’s just for fun and to lift/Throw some stuff. I might play with some stuff but im familiar with shotput but i cant really train for the events aparts from shotputting stuff outside or throwing things over
A bar at the gym. love carrying/Throwing heavy shit. Thats why strongman is so awesome! Loading stones/kegs/sandbags etc, Carrying all sorts of different stuff, Grip strength events, Deadlifts, log and axle press, tire flipping, Truck pull, pulling/pushing stuff, keg toss/sandbag etc, wrestling, Fromt or side holds. More stuff i can’t think of. Strongman is so cool!
