Rise and Rise Again!

Oops forgot to post a picture of Coletta!

I want a PUPPY!!!

I love making fun of you Floridians when it gets cold down there…which seems to happen every couple years…We were stationed in Pensacola and then Jacksonville and from Jax up to Maine…talk about a weather shock!!

I went out walking in our snow this morning…no tortilla chips for me!!(thats one of my vices too)

Ugh, as for suit, I don’t even know what color I want! I like so many colors, but that’s not the point. The point is what color actually looks good on me, so I’ll figure that out later. Do you even have a color picked out yet?

As for posing, I practice randomly, but I still need to do a lot of work.

Oh gee, I can kill a bag of tortilla chips. Nom.

Ha, the dog just gave birth, now she has to get back into running

Coletta sounds very cool

although the poor girl looks pooped on the picture.

Just popping in to say HI!! Awesome log  and CUTE puppies…I am such a sucker for a wet nose!!

Holy hell - I’m so sore - I love it.

Yesterday, I did lower body weights and not only do I have the “toliet bowl legs” (where it hurts to sit on the freaking toliet bowl) but my back/shoulders still hurt from a few days ago.

I need to get a recovery drink pronto - because I’m finally seeing some good results in my lifting and I do NOT want to back down anytime soon, but I would like to move a little more freely the next day

Any suggestions?

Needless to say, today is my day off [REST]. Tomorrow, I’m back at it with Triceps and Chest! Attempting some higher numbers with the bench press and looking forward to killing the triceps! WOO!

LOL @ toilet bowl legs

You ladies and your Split Squats…those things kill me bad, so I avoid them (I’m such a baby)

Tri’s and chest tomorrow, chest first though, right?

I like what I see in here. Do you have any photos from previous figure comps?

Lol! I was about to recommend a Gin & Tonic for a recovery drink, but I see you mean some sort of healthful supplement…

Nikki! HAHA! “the dog just gave birth, now she has to get back into running” - you know, working off the post-baby weight.

Excellent training! DOMs is always a good sign.

I love your post I hope it all works out for you. I too had to rise again. Several years ago I experienced a high risk twin pregnancy where I was put on modified bed rest. I lost that pregnancy at 22 weeks. Shortly after I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I don’t know how I survived I hurt so bad both emotionally and physcially. I was in so much physical pain I couldn’t roll over in bed. Then I did IVF again and got pregnant 5 months after the 1st pregnancy with twins again. Another high risk pregnancy and again modified bedrest for the duration. This time I made it to 38 weeks. I thought my lifting days were over as at that time the recommendation was that people with RA not do any resistance training. It took me years to get over the fear of possibly hurting myself and ignoring the doctors to train again. When I was diagnosed three years ago with prediabetes I decided I was going to go for it because I did not want another chronic health condition. Now I compete. I was so weak after all the high risk pregnancies that I couldn’t even hold both babies at the same time.

Inkaddict â?? Thanks for the recommendation about the recovery drink! Omg, split squats absolutely kill my booty, but itâ??s a great sore! & yes â?? chest is first

Bobbi Miller â?? No :frowning: No pictures because I havenâ??t done a fitness competition before. This will be my first attempt at it. Iâ??m pumped up for the experience that I will gain from the training and the actual competition itself. I am going to get some photos up of my progress & would love some critiques!

Maschy â?? Oh I love some vodka/tonics  But itâ??s been a while since I sipped on that! LOL… Coletta is back! She was over the puppies to be honest and wanted her â??workâ?? schedule back! Iâ??m not running with her long distance just yet. I will need to work her way up!

Zadruga â?? Thanks for stopping by  I love visitors!!! I wish you the best in your recovery as well! Keep your head up!

WEEKEND RECAP:

It’s been a crazy busy weekend. My older brother graduated from UF & we had his graduation & graduation dinner which took up most of my day on Friday afternoon & night. Then on Saturday, I had classes to teach and then went up north 2 hours to pick up Coletta - and we ended up staying until 11pm at night. I played with all the puppies and ran around their 5-acre land. And today, I slept in and taught a Boot Camp. Now I’m bundled up, playing around on the computer, being lazy.

I’m putting together my itinerary for the week and going to the grocery store here in a minute to purchase this week’s eats. I was planning on the gym later on, but I’m thinking I’m going to continue to rest, stretch out my legs and hit it hard all week long.

I’m going out of town for 1 day to see the boyfriend’s parents, so I look forward to sweeping through the holidays with no real slack day

Coletta’s lovely. Are you planning on keeping any of the pups.

Re: pullups, I find if I don’t do them first, I can’t do them! Then again, I have a big fat arse to haul up.

Cal - no, no pups for me! I have two others - so with the 3 of them. I’m absolutely content

So yesterday- I got in a workout, but not any lifting.

I ended up getting in some HIIT - sprint work mixed into a repetition workout involving: burpees, agility drills, tuck jumps, bench jumpers (hands on a strength training bench and you jump over it side to side).

It was one of those - I need to burn steam workouts; and I ended up staying at my studio in my own privacy, rather than hitting up the gym where I typically do my lifting! It was a sweat producing workout for sure, so it felt great. Afterwards, I needed pampering badly, so instead of a massage, I opted for a hair cut & highlights with a blow dry & style. My original plan was to lift some weights after the appointment, but I went in at 1:45pm and didn’t leave until 4:00pm. But it was relaxing nonetheless.

I tend to forget about myself at times - when dealing with my clients and the business. I have needed a revamp of my hair for a while now, but I kept putting it off - so finally, I sucked it up and did it. I love it, it’s a bit lighter in color (light brown) and I cut off 4-5 inches! It’s still long, so even more reason why it needed a trim!

Feelin’ good this morning - with a new 'do!

Heading to the outlet malls with my mom & sister before lifting (triceps/chest) tonight and Yoga!

Anyone else love the gym in December? I’ve been blessed to have a steady flow of kickass girls in my fitness studio, but the commerical gym I go to is BARE!! No people at all  Love it!

A hair cut and color is a lovely thing. A total pain in the ass in terms of time, but always worth it in the end. Enjoy your Dec commercial gym quiet. I assume you’ll pay for that in Jan with all the resolvers. Although, if you enjoy people watching I suppose Jan is not a bad month to be in the gym either…

Oopsies… got way side-tracked. Still managed to get in workouts but not nearly as much as I should.
Since I have a fitness studio where women are my priority and I run Boot Camps… January is by far, my busiest month (besides April/May). So I’ve been slammed. I recently had a few mentions in FITNESS magazine and a local radio show too, so the #'s are growing - which is great, but leaves less time for ME. However, that was my NEW YEAR RESOLUTION - no matter what, I must leave time for ME.

& with that- I’m back to posting.

I am enrolled in two classes come next week so I need to make sure my life is scheduled to the TEE to make certain that I get in everything that I need.

Back to the grind.

I’m about 15lb over my goal weight.

So- I am going to do the following plan beginning tomorrow:

Friday, 1/7:

5am: Cardio [30 min RUN, 10 min Jump Rope]
6am-9:30am Personal Training
10am: Tricep/Chest Lifting
5pm-8pm Personal Training

Saturday, 1/8:

7am: Cardio [30 min RUN, 10 min Jump Rope]
8am-12:30pm Personal Training
12:30pm: Bicep/Back Lifting

Sunday, 1/9:
9am: Cardio [Sprint intervals/Plyometrics]
11am-3:30pm Personal Training
5:00pm: Legs/Glutes

Monday, 1/10:
5am: Cardio [30 min RUN, 10 min Jump Rope]
6am-8am Personal Training
9:30am-12:30pm School
2pm: Tricep/Chest Lifting
5pm-9pm Personal Training

Tuesday, 1/11:
NO CARDIO
8:00-11:00am School
11:00am: FULL BODY WORKOUT [circuit style]
2:00pm-7:00pm Personal Training
7:00-8:30pm Yoga

Wednesday, 1/12:
5am Cardio [Run, Jump Rope]
6am-9am Personal Training
9:30am-12:30pm School
OFF WEIGHT
5pm-9pm Personal Training

… SO that should get me through the next week or so.

I have a bit of a way to go! But I have some HUGE GOALS…

3/12: Little Black Dress Cocktail Party
** Contest that I have going with 40 of my clients, and I HAVE to look amazing for the after-party.
** I’ve attached a dress that I want to rock, or at least something CLOSE TO IT!

4/16: Photo Shoot
** I have these every 3-months with my Studio so that girls can strut their stuff, they are fitness and bikini photos, so I will want to look my very best for this

4/21: My 26th Birthday

7/8: NPC Fitness Competition - would love to be novice-ready for my 1st ever competition

Good lord. That is a sexy little number.

Hey, good to see you back!
Nice dress…
you know we’ll require pics of YOU in the dress, right?

You sound so busy!! Ever consider hiring anyone on to assist?

awesome choice of dress

That’s a great plan for the next few days

Focusing on yourself is hard, especially when you’re busy helping others be healthy, you have to remember that you have to do the same for yourself.
