RIP Charlie Kirk

Didn’t he say one them was the shooter?

Just needed a plane ride?

It didn’t allow the real offender to get away. I ain’t mad at him.

In addition to stated vengeance, I think it’s also important to help remember Charlie in context. As mentioned prior on these boards, I’m not a religious guy. I can sympathize with it, grew up in church, but the far fetched stories and spiritual aspect of it all vs a philosophy or ethos taught in allegory are difficult for me to buy.

However, I believe Charlie sincerely believed and so framed thoughts and ideas in his debates from the perspective of belief in a literal Bible.

When you listen to him from this angle, his message really is one of care, but from a place of sincerely believing in souls, a literal heaven and hell et cetera and a rule book for how to earn one and avoid the other..

Anyways, so many clips are being taken out of context with snippets passed around to create an image of a racist, misogynistic, transphobic bigot but it’s simply not true in full context of his speech.

While I think it’s important to root out people who support violence over difference of opinion, I do think k the best way to remember Charlie is to continue sharing his legacy in the way he created it.

For example, in this video he clearly shares belief that trans is off/wrong/something to fix, but it’s from his perspective in an open forum debate where people freely chose to join. He also shares his view with compassion and empathy to someone who was in turn asking from a seemingly genuine place.

Regardless of where personal beliefs lie, more of this should be Charlie’s legacy.

Yeah! And the “Derry” miniseries next month.

I don’t understand why anyone from the administration has to testify to congress

is that Constitutional law???

Checks and balances are kind of important.

Congress has oversite powers, and can subpeona whoever.

Patel (or anyone) could refuse to go and risk charges of contempt. Or plead the 5th.

A quick search says Patel was already scheduled to testify. And that Dems are trying to nail him for illegally firing agents who worked on cases investigating Trump, under the Biden administration.

But i think its more political theatre, because Congress doesn’t have the power to directly fire him. And Dems don’t have the votes to Impeach him.

I expect them all to be making this as political as possible. It’s what they do. A lot will be said about the shooters “conservative upbringing” and his affection for trangendereds. That’ll be the focus, politics. Not the investigation.

Gotta say there’s a suprising overlap between the two.

If I only heard the audio, I’d have though that was recorded in Munich in 1933.

Rural gay guys who came up around guns and drifted from the church can’t be That rare.

Not surprising to me. I heard (anecdotally) that when the RNC was in Milwaukie, they crashed Grindr.

Occams razor. Maybe they were just simply what he said? When Mr. Rogers died no one had to place his quotes into context.

That’s where the problems creep in.

Look at what happens in Tampa when they show up.

Speaking generally, do you agree context is important?

Interestingly I just watched a quote today where Mr. Rogers specifically pointed out boys can only be boys and girls can only be girls. Should he have been murdered for that?

Why “problems”? The same can be said of men with gender dysphoria.

Did Charlie force any of them to listen to him?

What’s interesting to me is that literal Bible Christians at least have the blind faith thing. Trannies can pull their dicks out and see self-delusion real time.

And Charlie was hosting at-will, open forum debates while trannies attempt to legislate forced acceptance.

Why is at will participation problematic for you, but forced participation isn’t?

That’s why NYC and SF are gay capitals of the US, rural gun toting boys got shuttled through them during WW2.

This feels like the set up to a joke about the Navy.
