Thanks for that link. I’ll give it a listen.
89 at 6am is crazy. Really crazy. Good job for hitting it anyway.

Did you guys get a chance to listen to Dave? Gotta love his perspective on lifting and life in general. Problem with listening to the EFS crew is I always feel like a pussy afterward, in a good way.
Yesterday other than morning cardio didn’t get shit done. The extreme heat caused one of my network sites AC unit to freeze up which started thermal nuclear metal down of the network. By the time I got there it was 109* inside the unit and shit was failing. Finally got everything fixed at about 9:30p then had scheduled maintenance to do from midnight until 1am. Nice 16 hour day, the plus is I’m not going to work today.
This morning got in a nice 3 mile walk, saving up for squats tonight and some prowler pushing. Luckly today is supposed to be cooler than the last few, might even get some of that stuff they’re calling rain, seem to recall it but it’s been a bit.
Got about half way through yesterday and a little more today and Yes I agree it pumps you up then makes you feel inadequate. Probably like sleeping with a porn star. ![]()

Excellent analogy.
Squats and shit.
Foam rolled
Shoulder mobility
Squats
135-2x5
185-2x3
225-2x3
245-3x3
275-3x3
Facepulls
4x10
Cut back on the first few sets to get another set of 275, all 3 sets were easy. Think I’ve got the depth thing dialed in, time to move up the weight, probably go to 300 next week. Really wanted to hit the prowler tonight, wife had meetings tonight and I got the boy. Tomorrow.
am training of any kind is good work.
nice job.

Maybe time for a video to get some advice from Pete or some of the other guys Dday?

Been pretty crappy with the video since my flip died. Next week I’ll see what I can do, have used my phone a couple of times but it’s a PIA.
Just a thought Dday, you know we are all here to help.
^absolutly, would never think otherwise.
Nice work on those squats dday! Are you following a program or do you have your own?

Thank you. Had been doing 5/3/1. Recently injured my shoulder so I backed off all pressing, at the same time I’ve been working on squat depth and lowered the weight considerably. Right now I’m kind of winging it but kind of following one of CT’s programs that Atypical1 runs, lots of sets of 3. Currently the only lifts I’m doing are squats, deads and whatever eccessory lifts don’t aggravate my shoulder.
Once I heal up I’ll go back to 5/3/1 for big lifts but eccesory lifts will be more of a conditioning focus.
Solid work. I’ll be interested in hearing how you like the triples. So far I really like them but some folks thrive on higher volume.

I really like it. The volume is a great break from 5/3/1 where sometimes I felt beat down and deloads where a welcome break. With the higher volume there are days where I want to just keep going. At the end of the day my body feels the same (sore) but my CNS is way better. Anxious to get back to pressing and apply the program to those movements before going back to 5/3/1. If the triples are as successful with pressing as they have been with squats and deads then 5/3/1 and triples will likely be the only programs I’ll ever do again. Thanks for turning me on to it.
Any progress on the shoulder or is it still crook?
Have you had it checked out yet by the experts yet?
Shoulder is doing much better of late. Been using a ball to roll out my supraspinatus and trap, along with daily doses of ibuprofen and biofreeze, then every night before bed I sit with an ice pack on it. If all goes right another week and I’ll start light pressing, so I hope anyway.
Haven’t been to see a pro yet. As I understand it in order for me to see the ortho I want, my Dr has to sign off on it but right now I don’t have a regular Dr. Called a couple of offices locally but haven’t settled on one. One office told me they were not taking any new patients?
^ok turns out that BS, shouldn’t listen to coworkers, my insurance does cover orthos without being referred. Should have contacted the insurance company sooner but I’m lazy and just asked around. I have an appointment Aug 3rd with a Dr. who is the primary for several local colleges and the US Olympic volley ball team (no reason to mention that other than it sounds cool). The Dr who works with the Royals and Chiefs couldn’t get me in until late August. Hopefully it’ll be fine by then and I can cancel but it’s in the books.
Also found out I can go to the chiropractor 30 times a year, guess I should have paid more attention when the benefits were explained.
^ ahahahaahahahaha keep the appointment no matter what Dday, not like you are going to stop lifting anytime soon.

Good point, worst case he can give me some more pointers on how to avoid future injury.
Seems the older I get the scatter brained I am. Just saying.
Anyway prowler work
Prowler+45’s@ 80 yards x7
Sets 8-9-10 were one set, total of 240yrds no break.
The first 7 sets were as fast and hard as I could go for 40yrds, then what was left in the tank back 40yrds.
Rest was until I caught my breath.
The last “set” I rested for about 2 minutes, then went all out for as long as I could and pushed through the rest of the set. For the first time the prowler flu set in, like 5 minutes later I stood up and almost passed out. Took another 20 minutes to stop sweating.
