235.8 again! Wondering if my scale is broken. No cheat meals so far, haven’t even missed a meal.
Did not get to run this morning, my wifes car decided not to shift from park so I had to tear the dash and console apart and got it fixed. We’re going to the zoo today so I should get plenty of walking in. Tomorrow come hell or high water I’m running.
Nice work man, are using a false grip with the MP? I had just started using it and love it, I actually feel a lot stronger with it. The idea of the push press is a good idea after Im spent I may start using that method.
I think you should thank Tom Araya for your PR lol!
Thanks bro. Yep I switched to the false grip after watching Wendler and Meat using it. Does feel stronger but it’s harder to keep my wrists tight, hence the wraps.
\m/ Slayer! \m/ Speaking of which, every day they announce another Big 4 show in the US. For those not familiar, Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica are touring together and so you know Matty, they just announced a show at Yankee stadium September 14th. That’s a concert I’d pay what ever the cost to see, hopefully they come close to KC.
NO EFFING WAY I Gotta go!!! Anthrax is my favorite band of all TIME (Belladona days only)…hung out Scott Ian at White Zombie show once, we r both jews and Queens guys…I had no idea man, I have got to get ticks for that!
Totally jealous if you get to go. It’s not likely they’ll come near me but I’d be willing to drive a state or two to see them.
Finally got to run this morning.
Warm up
walked .8 miles
ran 1 mile just under 10min
walked another .8 miles
ran another mile
All in about 40 minutes give or take. Made a pit stop at my house after the first mile, something about running tickles my bladder.
Afterward I foam rolled. Liking the roller more and more, especially after learning how to do it right. I’ve used them before but didn’t really know what I was doing.
Dday, I love the roller as well, I do it every morning…no matter what I do with it feels good, I actually look forward to it, and when I hit a sensitive spot YAHTZEE! though I got a cheap one and its starting to look a little squished.

I’m actually starting to crave the roller myself, kind of like pushing the prowler and of all things…running.
Since my little break through the other week where I figured out how to run properly, my thoughs seem to wonder to things like, how far can I run and when. Makes me sick. I also found out that the two guys who challenged me to this race aren’t training at all which fuels my desire to smoke them both.
prowler+90lbs down and back
prowler+160lbs down and back
prowler+210lbs down and back
prowler+300ish down and back (vid)
Good news, I got to depth more or less. I started out with one of the exercises I saw in the mobility thread, grab toes, squat while holding toes, raise arms, stand up repeat a few times. The did paused at the bottom squats with 135, followed by some front squats then into the sets. Getting pretty close I think. Did feel like my hips locked at the bottom and I had to push through that to get out of the hole.
Haven’t posted about my diet in a bit, mainly because it’s SSDD.
7am- 2 scoops Grow! 1 scoop Power Drive (2 Rhodiola)
9:30a- 4 egg whites 2 whole sprinkle of cheese and 15ish almonds
12:30p- 5oz chicken vegg
3p- 5oz fish 15ish almonds (4 fish oil and 1 Rhodiola)
6p- Surge recovery (workout days only)
7:30ish dinner meat and vegg
9p- 2 tbps natural PB and 1 scoop Grow! 6oz 2% milk
10p bed
If the scale doesn’t change durning tomorrow mornings weigh in, the PB and grow has to go. Been getting some kind of cardio in 5-6 days a week and running has become pretty easy.

It “looks” like you are 3-4 inches above parallel on your vid. What depth are you shooting for?
Really? I’m just trying to get to 90*. Maybe I just want to be close so I don’t see what’s really happening.
Joe’s right, 3-4 inches looks about right to me too. Don’t worry about it, it will come. Bit of flexibility work for a couple of weeks and you’re sorted. If you’ve no plans to compete it’s not really an issue, but we’re a strict bunch on the over35 forum and if you squat high you will be called on it.
Great work on the prowler BTW and why your weight’s not going down has got me flummoxed!
How long have you been taking the Rhodiola? Liking it so far? It’s really good for my temper lol
I’d bitch for about 10 minutes upon waking but when I take rhodiola, I feel calm for the rest of the day =D
FB- I have no plans to compete with anyone besides myself but I don’t want to be one of those guys claiming a 500lb squat that is nothing more that knee twitch. Before I didn’t really care about breaking 90* but was called on squatting high and it’s become an obsession. I’ll keep working at it.
Yea the weight loss thing has me scratching my head as well. No official measurement taken but I’m surely pushing 30%, with that much fat it should be running away from me. Maybe a big time refeed/super carb up day? Last time was only about 250g’s of carbs, maybe I need 400+?
Nikki- thought I’d ran you off. At first I didn’t think much of the Rhodiola until recently, people haven’t been getting on my nerves as much and my general mood seems to be better. Haven’t had any luck losing inches but my mood is much more positive and light hearted, not that I’m normally a dick or anything. Bought 2 bottles right after you mentioned it, 3 weeks ago?? Almost done with the first once I burn through the second decide if it’s worth buying again, so far yes.

Yeah, I’m not trying to be a dick because I went through the same thing. Finally Snapper got me to figure out where depth should be and every time I up my weight I have to work back down to depth. The best thing I can tell you is to ignore where it “feels” deep enough and go until you’re sure you’ve buried it. Then watch the video and you’ll see its not as deep as you think.
I think I’m always going to struggle with depth and I think as long as you are working on it thats really all you can do. If you get a chance you’ll see me trying to dial 305 in for a meet and get it deep enough and its a chore.
Joe- I know you’re trying to help and I’d never mistake that for being a dick. As long as someone doesn’t give me crazy out of line advice I’m going to listen and you’re by no means doing that. I just don’t want to believe I’m not there yet, haha. At least I’m not alone in the depth struggle. Good luck with your meet, you work hard, you’ll kill 305.
Cav- Rhodiola, it’s sold here, it’s supposed to block cortisol which inhibits fat loss(thats the short of it). It’s also a “happy pill” eases stress.
Off topic- watching death race right now, Jason Statum is freaking (movie star) jacked in this movie. It’s not a great movie but it’s a good blow shit up flick.
My right shoulder was killing me for some reason, between the anterior and medial deltoid. I started out rubbing a ball on it then rolling and stretching nothing seemed to work. Did my sets and it felt better but by the final working set it was on fire, dropped weight and went for reps until it flared up again and stopped benching. It even bothered me on skull crushers so I kept everything light. I have a video of the 225 set but don’t care to upload it. It’s just me benching.
Nice Prowler work as usual bro, I hope the city doesent fine you for rippin up the asphalt lol.
The squats are a bit high, I have the same issues and feel the same way, Id rather squat with acceptable depth and a lighter weight then be one of those fucktards with a slight crouch.
