Ridiculous Names

I could do this for days. I work in a pretty ghetto area and see some absolutely ridiculous shit. ^^^this chick came in a week or two ago and her name was so absurd I took a pic of the receipt. I’ll start taking more as they come in. You wouldn’t believe the names I’ve seen.

HAHAH, Ummmm ya may not want to take to many pics of peoples names and last 4 of a credit card number. Could add up to trouble.

Where do you work?

(On-court antics aside) Who the hell renames himself Metta World Peace? Seriously.

Used to work with a guy named Richard Hurtz.

Meyerland, so Hiram Clark and the knuckleheads on W Belfort are around the corner. It’s an interesting mix here 'cause Meyerland is an old Jewish neighborhood, Bellaire is pretty damn upscale, then hoodrat central is a hop skip and a jump away. The bank across the street got robbed a couple weeks back, and we’ll get the occasional crackhead wandering in but it’s usually pretty chill.

Yep that is a weird combo area, do you live there also? I have meetings over there occasionally.

I went to Thailand last year to staff an employee in one of our satelite offices, interviewed Supa Kul and a girl with the surname Sukanya.

We aslo have a Thai chick named Thitiporn

And how could i forget, that same trip i went to New Deli where our recruiter was a chick named Manmeet.

Fortunately, no. I live in the museum district. Next time you’re over there shoot me a pm.

I pursued a girl named Zelda once. (Got turned down hardcore)

Braiden/Aiden/Jaden is getting popular in my area and I totally dislike it.

If I had a kid I’d probably name him Adam or her Sara, it works in almost every language.

A couple of years back, my employer hired a guy named Thomas Crown. I shit you not. [/quote]

Well, you have to make up crap if you don’t want to name your kid after a saint. I’m just going to make it obvious, Augustine, Moses, Jesus, Joseph, Benedict, Maximilian Kolbe, &c.

I met a guy whose first name was Damnit (pronounced Dumb-neat).

I win

I’m a big fan of the writer P.G. Wodehouse, who’s given names were Pelham Grenville. Some of his characters: Gussie Fink-Nottle, Honoria Glossop, Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright, and Stilton Cheesewright.

The lead in the recent, and fantastic, BBC series “Sherlock” is played by the actor Benedict Cumberbatch.

Benedict Cumberbatch is also in the move “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” with Gary Oldman.

This has been mentioned alreaady. My friend at Chicago’s Children Hospital had a patient named La-a, pronounced La-dash-a.

Not sure if it was intentional, but this is actually funnier because of the way you spelled New Delhi.

OK, I have a ridiculous name story I heard a while back I’ll share FWIW.

A woman had named her daughter Urine, which she pronounced U-rin-EE. When she was asked to explain how she came up with this name, she claimed the hospital’s maternity staff had actually named the girl, since she didn’t have a good one in mind when the baby was born.

She explained that her baby was born very premature and there were doubts about whether she would survive. She said, "When they sent me home, the nurses in Newborn Intensive Care told me they would pray for my baby. When I came back to visit the next day, I noticed one of the nurses had written a prayer on a post-it and stuck it on the front of the incubator. The note read: PLEASE SAVE URINE.
