So, many people here have been rick rolled. I post this topic b/c I frankly don’t understand it.
Wow, you sent me a link… not to gay porn, mutilation or something disgusting but to a music video of a very popular (once upon a time) song by Rick Astley?
Sorry, this isn’t impressive or even funny. Why isn’t the fresh prince of bell air or some other better known song / intro to a tv show used? Even then, how is that a good prank?
How this is popular is beyond me. Another stupid trick thanks to 4chan… at least its not random child porn…
It’s just one of those things. I think Rick Astley fell out of the pop culture conscience long enough to make it ‘randomly’ funny. Kind of in the same vein as Hoff became an internet juggernaut. You know, so uncool they end up being revered for it.
Will Smith is everywhere, and the Sparta crap is current…hence, not funny. Also, all the ‘shock’ sites of lemon parties and what not were done to death.
I think it’s that the song, despite being popular at some point, is incredibly gay by most people who would be following a bunch of youtube links.
It’s also in the buildup by the person doing the Rick Rolling. If you’re led to believe you’re about to see some sick video of 2 guys beating the shit out of eachother and you get that… it’s pretty funny.

I think it’s the more politically correct bullshit prank to replace any real shock prank like tubgirl or goatse; mostly used by old people.[/quote]
Didn’t this originate on 4chan, a place where even CP randomly occurs and nothing is sacred?
