I heard about this herb as a fat burner? Does it work? If not for fat burning then what are the benifits of this herbal supplement if any?
There have been some rat studies that showed an increase in HSL and some weight loss studies in older overweight women but my personal experience with Rhodiola Rosea has not shown any definitive fat loss effects. I have been taking 300mgs. of New Chapter brand for about a year and the main benefits I have noticed is a fantastic increase in mood and resilience to stress and higher energy levels. It is quite likely that these benefits would have a higher impact on fat management than any minor increases in metabolism or lipolysis that the herb may bestow. I will say I am in the best shape of my life since I have started taking it.
So may it work for fat loss? Possibly, though for me there are simply too many other variables to definitively say.
Good luck.
It controls cortisol levels. Raises it if its too low (which you DO want a certain amount) and lowers it if its too high. This affects your mood. Cortisol also has to do with easy weight gain. Directly, it will not impact fat loss, like a fat burner, however, it will improve your hormonal profile which is good for physique refinement.
thanks
NP. I might be trying some soon myself.
As bdog and getswole pointed out, this is more of an adaptogen than rather than a direct fat burner or nutrient partitioning agent. It is very useful for promoting recovery in overstressed systems, but if stress reduction is not included in the protocol, then your long term results with it will not be significant. Think of it as a leverage tool for recovery, not a product that allows you to ignore recovery.
