Reverse Pyramid Training

Good luck with that buddy. Life could be difficult sometimes. When ever you have time, please send me some links of your preference, I will be happy to learn something new.

Dude, nobody believes that more than me. Heck my neurotyping system is all about finding the best system that works for you.

I personally have trained using pretty much any system you can think of. I competed in olympic lifting, bodybuilding, strongman, also did powerlifting and crossfit. And within these sports/activities I have experimented with every possible way of training.

And I’m well aware that different people have different muscle fiber dominance and therefore some people will be better suited for certain types of training. No doubt there. But in my experience this has even more to do with brain chemistry and CNS than muscle fiber dominance (although both seem to be connected).

Great conversation buddy, I really enjoy to have a different perspective. Good luck with your wife and keep moving forward (y).

CT, do any of your programs employ the reverse pyramid approach using just one exercise per muscle group? I don’t remember any, though most layer based programs use similar loading parameters just with varying exercises.

It sounds similar to the Russian layers, or maybe there was a Bulgarian system where you contrasted a heavy triple , with a set of 6-12 at 20% less weight.

Would it ever make sense for a 2A to run 5-4-3-2-1 backwards, getting up to a TM single and then doing 2-3-4 and 5 rep sets with decreased weight?

I hope everything is ok?

Yep, thank you. She had a nasty cramp that made it impossible to stand up. She already lost a baby years ago so everytime something like that happens she freaks out. But turned out to be a contraction… the body sometimes do that after 20 weeks, to ā€œpracticeā€. As long as there is no blood (there wasn’t) it should not be a problem. And she felt the baby move several times after that so everything looks to be ok.

Excellent. I’m very glad to hear it. We went through the same thing: lost a child and then had a difficult pregnancy after. The good news is that one went great and we had another healthy one a couple years later. I hope the same for you. At 20 weeks, you’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Good luck and congratulations again

Thank you! Yeah things are looking up. My wife definitely is shooting for more than one… so I guess I am too  But really all I want is for the first one to be healthy, we’ll see after that

Ha! It’s weird how it takes two to make, but one to decide…

We are a democracy… it’s just that she gets two votes, I get one

Perfect. In my household, my wife owns all the small decisions and I make all the bigs ones. In ten years a big decision has yet to come up
