I considered taking some Force related action because of his avatar, but I decided against it. Even though it’s a shameful picture, I can’t bring myself to harm something remoted related to me. I’m vain that way.

Alright, I looked at them again on my work monitor, and while I still prefer the second one, the first one won’t be too bad.

Changed things up a big again today.
Jefferson Squats: 135 x 6(reps per side),6,6,6, 145 x 6,6 - These are going to take some getting used to but they sure hit the glutes pretty hard.

RDL: 185 x 10,10, 205 x 10, 225 x 10 - Finally, my back feels fine on these!

It’s funny you say that. I wish I would have watched that Kai Greene video again before I went to the gym today. I think my stance was actually too wide from side to side, but at the same time I should have moved my rear foot behind the bar even more.
I agree with his statement that you should really focus on forcing your knees out at the bottom. I didn’t do a good enough job with that, but when I did, I really felt a strong stretch in my legs and my glutes working harder. I actually think these Jeffersons are going to help with my flexibility if I continue to focus on that.
I also think I need to reverse the mixed grip I was using as well. I had them reversed from how Kai did it and after watching him again, his way makes a little more sense and looks more comfortable. Either that or I’ll use a double overhand grip. It also looks like my grip was a lot more offset from his as a result. I need to have my hands a little more ‘even’ on the bar.
Other than that, I just tried to keep the focus on my glutes. They were really burning at the end. I haven’t felt my glutes working like this in a long, long time. I’ve clearly had some glute disfunction going on for a while now, so it’s nice to have them awaken a bit and working again. It’s going to be interesting to see how this carries over to my front squats when I start doing them again.
I’m clearly going to stick with these for a little while and see what I get out of them over the next few months.

What are these Jefferson squats? I’ve been trying to find a link or explanation to these somewhere… ???
SSC - check out the MD link AV posted. After Kai finishes singing about McDonald’s, and you see the “up the ass” camera angle of him on the stair machine, he does some Jefferson squats.
I’ve never tried them, but they do look interesting. I’d like to get more glute activation as well. I’d worry that my arms are too short.

If I get strange looks in the gym just from deadlifts and deep squats, I can only imagine the kind of stares I would get if I tried those! Hahahaha…
