Nobody is making you read anyone’s log. As a V-Dieter and V-Diet logger, I enjoy reading other people’s V-Diet logs because I empathize with them and it’s a good place for encouragement through a tough diet. It’s no different than the dozens of “Race to a 300 lb Bench” type logs in the Strength Sports forum. I enjoy reading those as well.
I also agree with the Thinktank sentiment by analog_kid. The roundtables were fucking amazing too, what happened to them?

I dont read them, but there was an entire thread dedicated to the vdiet and it was HUGE. No one had any trouble just posting in that one thread until recently when everyone decided they needed their own special place to post “had 6 shakes today, 2 bannana, 2 strawberry, 1 vanilla, 1 chocolate” for 28 days straight. A normally useful forum that is generally completely packed with good information and discussion (ie, Supplements and Nutrition) is suddenly almost worthless because the first two pages are ALL v-diet logs. Dont come at me with “Well, if you dont like it, dont read it.” I dont give a damn about it and Im not going to read it, but after 80,000 people have logged their v-diet on this site, I dont want you to fucking post it. Its a waste of space. People post those logs because they want attention for going on their little crash diets and if it were really about support and information, the vdiet support group thread would have been more than enough. I dont see how you can compare the velocity diet logs with the other logs posted on this site.
Are you saying that a log where someone posts that they ate the exact same thing every day for a month is worth as much as far as information goes as something like Hanley’s Sheiko Thread? The Crossfit guys all seem to be content posting in the same thread. What about Brotherhood of Iron…those guys dont even train the same way, but they keep it in one thread…and here you have 80,000 individual velocity diet threads with people acting like what they are doing hasnt been dong 79,999 times before in the past 3 years.

I am wondering if the people running this site are noticing all of the people coming back to this forum with the same sentiment who have been gone for a long time.
I don’t remember who it was, (Prof X, maybe?) but I remember a while back someone was talking about code-naming a thread “Getting HYOOOOOGE” and one as “General Bodybuilding.” I didn’t think that idea was half-bad, although I’m not sure if my vote really counts for anything at this point.
My first thought was I didn’t like the idea. It smacks of being an elitist club. Then I had an idea. I think it would be really cool if it was a weekly feature. Something like Ask The Dog Pound, where people submit questions to the most experienced members. TC selects one each week and the pound hashes it over. Might be good if the pound could interact with the asker.
I think a good Dog Pound would be about 6 bodybuilders, three or four Power Lifters, two or three Olympic Lifters and two or three athletic performance gurus. That should be big enough without getting too carried away.

Does anyone think that is a coincidence?
Other people are saying the same?[/quote]
I’d say check out the Bodybuilider Bunker for the lurkers coming out of the shadows.
This is not a new phenomenon of people leaving forums due to nonsense and getting bored and coming back. I was a forum member when the forum first started left in 02 for awhile, came back now and then and now post a little more often.
It happens and it’s nothing new. Remember, this is the net, it’s not reality. some people move on for various reasons such as family, they think stuff like this is a huge waste of time, their computer crashes, or they actually kiss a girl and lift weights for real.

Not so much here. When they leave, they are usually gone. I could be mistaken, but I have not seen Goldberg or any of that crew wafting through the halls of T-Nation.
I’ve been here a long assed time - not as long as you claim, but definitely before '03 - and I guess I’m just not seeing what you say is so common.
Seriously. The new forums are awesome. A log forum, V-Diet forum… that honestly would have been enough for me, but thrown in extra is the T-Cell Alpha and combat sports. Now I will never have to wade through anymore V-Diet threads, AND I may actually start a log now that there is a forum for it and people won’t have to look at it if they don’t want to!
