Child Gun Safety and Gun Access Prevention Act of 2009 - Amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to: (1) raise the age of handgun eligibility to 21 (currently, 18); and (2) prohibit persons under age 21 from possessing semiautomatic assault weapons or large capacity ammunition feeding devices, with exceptions.
Increases penalties for: (1) a second or subsequent violation by a juvenile of Brady Act provisions or for a first violation committed after an adjudication of delinquency or after a state or federal conviction for an act that, if committed by an adult, would be a serious violent felony; and (2) transferring a handgun, ammunition, semiautomatic assault weapon, or large capacity ammunition feeding device to a person who is under age 21, knowing or having reasonable cause to know that such person intended to use it in the commission of a crime of violence.

Prohibits any licensed importer, manufacturer, or dealer from transferring a firearm to any person (other than a licensed importer, manufacturer, or dealer) unless the transferee is provided with a secure gun storage or safety device. Authorizes the Attorney General to suspend or revoke any firearms license, or to subject the licensee to a civil penalty of up to $10,000, if the licensee has knowingly violated this prohibition.

Prohibits keeping a loaded firearm or an unloaded firearm and ammunition within any premises knowing or recklessly disregarding the risk that a child: (1) is capable of gaining access to it; and (2) will use the firearm to cause death or serious bodily injury.

Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 - Amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit a person from possessing a firearm unless that person has been issued a firearm license under this Act or a state system certified under this Act and such license has not been invalidated or revoked. Prescribes license application, issuance, and renewal requirements.

Prohibits transferring or receiving a qualifying firearm unless the recipient presents a valid firearms license, the license is verified, and the dealer records a tracking authorization number. Prescribes firearms transfer reporting and record keeping requirements. Directs the Attorney General to establish and maintain a federal record of sale system.

Prohibits: (1) transferring a firearm to any person other than a licensee, unless the transfer is processed through a licensed dealer in accordance with national instant criminal background check system requirements, with exceptions; (2) a licensed manufacturer or dealer from failing to comply with reporting and record keeping requirements of this Act; (3) failing to report the loss or theft of the firearm to the Attorney General within 72 hours; (4) failing to report to the Attorney General an address change within 60 days; or (5) keeping a loaded firearm, or an unloaded firearm and ammunition for the firearm, knowingly or recklessly disregarding the risk that a child is capable of gaining access, if a child uses the firearm and causes death or serious bodily injury.

Prescribes criminal penalties for violations of firearms provisions covered by this Act.
Directs the Attorney General to: (1) establish and maintain a firearm injury information clearinghouse; (2) conduct continuing studies and investigations of firearm-related deaths and injuries; and (3) collect and maintain current production and sales figures of each licensed manufacturer.

Authorizes the Attorney General to certify state firearm licensing or record of sale systems.

A bill to ensure the continued free flow of commerce within the United States and with its global trading partners through secure cyber communications, to provide for the continued development and exploitation of the Internet and intranet communications for such purposes, to provide for the development of a cadre of information technology specialists to improve and maintain effective cybersecurity defenses against disruption, and for other purposes.

Sounds like they are trying to control freedom of speech on the internet and make it harder for people to exercise their 2nd amendment to bear arms. What do you guys think?

I think this might be aimed more at foreign nations attempting to gain secure information from the US.

That was the part that cracked me up. They must surely have some sort of conclusive research or statistics that show 18-20 year old legal gun owners are a danger to society?

Same shit with lowering the legal limit for DUI. I never once saw stats on accidents or deaths caused by those between .08 and .1

It is much worse that people are letting it happen, the fact that people can sit by idly and just let the government make decisions which will drastically affect everyone is very disturbing. People need to wake up and see the world for what it really is and while it is much harder then living the brain washed life of Obama is going to change everything and everything is going to be awesome! It is much better to know the real truth and to empower yourself and other people.

It really does make you wonder when lawmakers craft laws that will undermine everyones rights without the least bit of concern about the electorate making them pay for it. People are just oblivious to the creeping authoritariansim that is taking place.

A big part of the problem is people don’t know what they are looking at. People are looking for the next Hitler without realizing that the next Hitler probably won’t look or act exactly like that.

What is even worse is the impression of Hitler that the majority of us have is in many regards a caraciture that bears little resemblance to what the man really was like.

I agree with you so much man! People think of Hitler as this cruel man who was iron fisted, when in reality before his days of seeking to control the world he was an extremely well spoken charismatic man who promised change for everyone who followed him, in ways much like Obama. The problem is that people are just totally ignorant to facts (go look in 9/11 thread) and it seems no matter what you tell them, they have been brainwashed by the T.V to think that critiquing the government is only for nut jobs and anti patriots, when in reality these are the people that care most about America. I try to talk to my friends and open their eyes, but I’ll give you an example, we have this course on global warming which of course is complete and utter non sense and I was talking to these two girls trying to explain to them how Global Warming is a complete scam and about world government and they said to me “isn’t it kind of sad to look at the world this way?” and it struck me that the majority of the people don’t refuse to believe because they don’t accept the facts, it’s just that out of sight and out of mind for them is better then to face the reality. We are told everything is going to be Okay all the time, but in reality if we don’t wake up, everything won’t be okay and we will be slaves to the people we helped empower.

A couple of years ago the Germans made a movie that happened to show Hitler as freindly, personable, charming etc… There was an uproar over it because people didn’t want Hitler to ever be seen this way, they only want him to be shown as this ominous demon from hell who elicits fear and intimidation from everyone.

The reality is Hitler was a sociopath like Ted Bundy. They both would turn on the charm in order to get what they want. Then when they got what they wanted they would switch gears. I can understand the desire to demonise Hitler but by only ever showing him as this wound up screaming lunatic we are not doing ourselves any favors because that is not how he gained power and influence.

Yes, it’s a surprise to many.

On the Hitler business:
Let’s not get carried away with conspiracies. Obama isn’t genocidal. Global warming isn’t a scam. People have been comparing the president to Hitler almost since Hitler.

But notice: what were the first major actions that Hitler took after becoming chancellor? He suspended habeas corpus, vested legislative powers in his cabinet, and illegalized competing parties (the German Communist Party.) Those are the warning signs: changes in the form of government. We’ve already suspended habeas corpus, so we need to be very watchful for other warning signs.
