Rest Periods for Hypertrophy?

So,I have a few question regarding training (obviously).

1)How much rest between sets has been the best for you for adding mass?

2)What training method has helped you adding size? I mean,full body workout or splits? And if it’s the first one,let’s say you go to the gym 4 times/week and you do the same programm all this times,when do you increase the weights? Or you just use the same weight in the exercises for a long period of time?

3)I read some articles in here,about getting leaner and bigger simultaneously,by doing 6-8 weeks “bulking” and 2-3 weeks “cutting”.Has this method helped you? I am thinking of using it.

4)What rep range has helped you most,again for adding muscle size?

  1. i only do one work set usually, so i rest as long as i need to in order to lift as much weight as possible to failure.

  2. a split routine has been the most effective for me.

  3. I have not used it because I do not believe it would work at all, at least not for me. I ESPECIALLY would not recommend you use it, since you’re clearly a beginner.

  4. Going as heavy as I can in the 6-12 rep range for most exercises.

  1. 30-120 seconds rest has been good for size, a little longer on big leg stuff is okay.

  2. splits work the best for me, hitting each bodypart once or twice a week. I would increase the weight or reps somewhere between every week and every third week.

  3. I have never tried that short of a cutting period.

  4. 6-20+ reps seems to be the best for me for size.

  4. Triple drop sets of 10 reps per drop. That’s 30 reps.

  4. 12 reps for 3 sets
