Coburn: Senate Republicans Will Watch for Sweetheart Deals in Health Care - YouTube senators
Good idea. They should have been doing this for the last 20 years or so.

Amen to that, regardless of party affiliation, this should be mandatory for all involved.
They should do that for everyone regardless…
But why is Coburn directing other Senator’s staff to do anything? Everyone should be accountable for every vote they make, but something about that delivery is really creepy…

Isn’t creepy at all. About time.

I’m not buying that the GOP (or DEMS, for that matter) are suddenly the Congressional “Moral Police” that are going to clean up the way things work in Washington and will begin to hold people accountable in Congress for their actions.
I’ve simply heard that song and dance one too many times.

(Nice photo/video op, though…)

Oh it’s complete and total hypocrisy. If we could push a button and have every back room deal/coercion tactic every politician ever did made public… even fairly recently, there would be very little difference between Republicans and Democrats. As far as whether they’ve been done or not is concerned. Of course they have. The substance of what they’ve been done over is what matters more to me.
Twisting arms and greasing palms to stop this abomination of an alleged health care bill would be very different to me than doing the same to pass it for instance. In other words I confess to being unhypocritically hypocritical. I like it when they’re doing what I want and don’t when they’re not. Most politically self aware people with any convictions would agree if put under hypnosis and forced to tell the truth, but wouldn’t be so quick to admit it openly.
So you may find me decrying liberals for tactics amounting to the ends justifying the means and in the next breath praising somebody for doing the same thing to advance a principle I believe in. Why? Because I’m right and they’re wrong and I believe in the things I believe in strongly enough to see them prevail by means I would deny to my ideological enemies because I view this as war AND SO DO THEY,regardless of what they try to say.
So, as I’ve been saying since I’ve been around here, nobody will have to accuse me of anything because I will tell you outright that I am guilty of an unfortunately necessary double standard.
