Things in Michigan are looking worse and worse, and it is more and more likely that my wife and I will be relocationg to the Charlotte NC area. Right now we are looking at homes in the Denver/Mooresville/Huntersville/Cornelius/Lake Norman area. My office is in the North Charlotte region which is why we are looking in the Lake Norman area (I work for a bank on the Wholesale lending side).
My wife is a Dental Hygienist and there seems to be a lot of full time jobs with benefits in the Charlotte area (unlike here). My question is if there is anyone on here that lives in this area and if so how are things going there? how is the job market? Where are the better places to live? How is the cost of living?
Basically any info will be helpful because this is a huge decision for us. I have read alot of info online but I want first hand feedback from someone in this area to help with our decision…
I went to school in CLT and have family/friends there now. My wife works for a bank in Winston that is HQ in CLT so she has to travel there frequently. Its a great town. Visit Lake Norman area frequently - really nice place. Traffic is horrible but quality of life is high. If I was going to move anywhere in NC - Charlotte would be the place. Hope that helps - good luck.

That defiitely helps, thank you! It is good to get an outside opinion. We were just there a few weeks ago and any place can seem great when it is still new even when we look at it objectively, so I am glad to hear from someone who has lived there at one time.
