I used the word boring in quotes as a substitute for healthy. The current narrative in the West is that healthy is boring. Thatās how I see it.

I wonder what a smart man like @Beyond_Beyond, one of my favorite posters, has to say about the current zeitgeist I speak of here. But I donāt want to drag him in if he doesnāt want to comment.
I agree with you on this. All I want to say is that the West is no different from Asia when it comes to this. We are EXACTLY the same when you speak of āpump and dumpā, just the anti-religious/stick it to the conservative dad part isnāt often part of the equation. Itās been like this since I was a kid, and weāre the same age and the place where I grrew up us like 20-30 years behind the West in terms of development.
IAlso, remember the beta orbitor thread where the Filipino-American dude said it was the same in the Philippines? The Philippines is like 10-15 years behind the US in terms of development and mostly Christian. Having been there several times and know a couple of first generation Filipino immigrants here, I tend to agree with him.
So this is part of the human condition. The outcomes are the same even though the West may have a chip on itās shoulder when it comes to sticking it to religion.
So, IMHO, we should probably eliminate that as a factor when it comes to teens fucking around and, instead, think about a teenagerās tendancy to rebel against any excuse he.she can find to rebel against. Does this make sense cos I think Iām rambling a bit now?
My youngest brother went through a commie phrase in his mid teens, which infuriated me deeply, and this was partly because he read about the massacre of commies in South Korea.

Yes, all that was funny, All in the Family, Simpsonās, Family Guy, and god knows how many films. Nearly all entertain media has a message, even when funny, and nearly all of the masses go right along with it. Most parents, even good ones, cannot fight mass societal peer pressure. Hence the whole notion of all ideas and values coming from home is BS. Par for the course in a radically individualistic and hedonistic country. What can I say, the West likes being glorious losers and donāt mind family extinction.

Iāve not watched the others but I think the Simpsons based Homer on Fred Flintstone and his inadequacy and incompetence was what made him popular with, and endearing amongst the audience so they made him more and more stupid as the seasons went by. So to me, The Simpsons was based on what the audience wanted to see, not the other way around.
The question is whether most commercial media and entertainment is a result of audience expectations or made with the intent to propagandize the audience. Iām leaning heavily towards the former since itās all about money weāre not living in the 40s anymore where even Disney would produce propaganda cartoons.
Disney even had to resort to making pro-allies propaganda cartoons to stay afloat during WW2:

I believe some can be inserted in big budget movies and there are small indie movies which lean heavily to one side but in the former, itās too insignificant to have any real impact while no one watches the latter other than people like me lol.
We can also debate that Michael Bayās Transformers movies were one long pro Right Wing military propaganda series if we want to go into this at face value, I can think of lots of counter examples like Hacksaw Ridge, Flags of our Fathers, Fury, Gran Torino etc.
P.S Iām quite familiar with influencing the ausdience through media ads since I do some as part of my job so I can spot shit like this quite easily.
I can even tell you which real mainstream movie comes closest to being a propaganda movie from the Left . The latest Charlieās Angels remake. tt was an abomination.
