The human in question is a radical. He’s already brainwashed, which makes him very similar. I’d have made that statement as a statement of fact after seeing some of the JI radicals.
I don’t know enough about Islam to comment about this but I do know my Muslim friends become VERY conservative culturally after their teens and when they get married.
Alright, I really dunno. Maybe there are more radicals outside of South Asia. The Muslims I know generally don’t give a fuck about things other than daily prayers and doing the stuff that normal people do.
My own Indonesian domestic helper I hired for my parents eats pork and doesn’t even pray lol. But if she’ll never let another Muslim know unless they’re good friends.
And the thing is, Macron did not condemn Islam, he condemned extremism and terrorism. But, his support for free speech and Charlie Hebdo makes him the devil.
I had a friend from Indonesia who wasn’t a Muslim. He hated them.
I would do the same. Not sure why there’s need to condemn Islam? If he condemned Islam as a public figure, he would have pissed off all the Islamic countries who are actively fighting the extremists.
EDIT:
However, they need to not shut down media personalities who are criticizing certain parts of Islam. That’s how the religion will evolve with the next generation.
If he’s Chinese or a dark skinned Eurasian, I’m not surprised at all. Had an Christian Eurasian friend who would get spat at when he bought pork at the wet market because people either assumed he was Muslim or they were against one of his parent’s conversion from Islam.
Do you mean you have a problem with Macron not condemning Muslim extremists/ Islamic extremism? Now that’s a different thing altogether and I’d agree with you here that he was wrong.
I think people were having the same problem with Obama when he refused to use the word “Muslim” in “extremists”.
I gave my life to Christ years ago and it changed my life for the better. But even I have to admit that maintaining my intellectual integrity while staying as a Christian is hard, mainly because people are good skeptics. I think it’s a good thing.
Atheistic government… A government rooted in nontheistic worldviews with the sovereign ruler treated as the law, instead of basing things under the classic Ten Commandments. It’s a VERY BAD definition but I can’t come up with anything else. I’ve always had this idea that America is a very Christianized country.
Communism… A system of government with a non-existent economy and a non-existent concept of private property. First, we have feudalism. Then it evolves to Capitalism. And then ultimately, as what Marx predicted, we will all realize the inferiority of Capitalism and accept that Communism is the better way.
Actually, the idea of a sovereign ruler for humans IS from religion. The only question is did humans construct religion or did God spread his Word through humans.
So, again, like I tried to explain many times above, if you are a Christian, then you would have to believe that all other religions started with humans creating a god(s). So they were the first atheists on the planet.
If you are an atheist, you would believe that the Judeo-Christian system and values were created by these first atheists.
Which means the ultimate outcome of atheism cannot be communism, but rather, the opposite.
Or you could call communism itself a religion that eradicated all others during it’s inception, which was what all other religions did.
If there’s a non-existent economy, the government wouldn’t exist either if you’re going with Marx’s actual vision.
EDIT:
I am not a communist. I am a Catholic. Just keep that in mind please.
I wouldn’t probe deeper into the Communism and religions thing. I just don’t have the necessary knowledge to understand them all yet. But I was wondering how you are with your Catholicism, specifically how conservative or liberal are you? What are your views on other religions and things like same-sex marriage?
I’m a Protestant myself and I’m a huge fan of Martin Luther.
I’m pretty liberal. That’s all I’ll say about my religion other than I also have a pretty good sense of humor when it comes to it. How one practices his/her religion is a personal thing so I hope you don’t mind.
If you want to talk about the religion itself then it’s fine.
I think same-sex marriage should be legal and people should be allowed to believe what they want to believe in.
May I enlighten you about Martin Luther? I know quite a bit, but basically he’s a sincere monk and he valued spirituality and trolled the Catholic Church by translating the Bible into German so that even peasants (who couldn’t read Latin) could read it. The fact that he wasn’t captured by the Inquisition baffles me. Really, I like the man for his courage and his devotion to his cause. I gotta admit though, he was a huge reason a bunch of Christians ended up fighting each other. But then again, anything causes war, I think.
But yeah, he is the one who started the Protestant Reformation.
In Medieval Europe, the Catholic, barring the bad stuff, was not just some powerful institution. They were also in charge of social services like giving alms to the poor, scholastic education, and running orphanages. It wasn’t an absolutely terrible institution, but when Luther learned how BS “indulgences” were, it angered him.
An “indulgence” is money paid to a Catholic clergyman with the promise that they will reduce the person’s time in Purgatory.
So when Luther actually read the Bible and started developing his own beliefs, he called them out.
I don’t know the exact numbers but I think an indulgence literally costed over half the annual salary of your everyday peasant.
