Religion Catch All

I attribute it to blatant ignorance, though I could very well be wrong

Perhaps the people at the top pulling the strings have ulterior motives

I don’t know

But the SJW subtypes eyes would bleed if they were to stay one day within half the countries they’re promoting

I’ve asked why and I get the response “that’s their culture you bigot!” or some equally lame response aimed at shutting down opposing points of view.

I’m not a bigot, I’m not a racist and I’m not a misogynist. It’s absolutely preposterous that I have to make these statements during conversation nowadays. Then there’s the “well you must be racist or you wouldn’t have opened with that” clapback

… no… I open with that because I know that’s the first ad hominem attack most will use when I try to voice my opinion.

They rail against misogyny, sexism, racism and discrimination within secular society. Going so far as to create an environment that actively shuts down opposing bodies of thought. I don’t think all men are trash… I think you have men who are assholes and women who are assholes.

This body of thought appqrently means I’m part of a wider problem?

However when it comes to ACTUAL misogyny, overt and blatant discrimination on the basis of religion or race, legitimate sexism going as far as to ban women from driving or leaving the home without a male companion… “that’s their culture” because third world, impoverished countries get a free pass for horrific human rights abuses? Ditto… got it, that makes sense.

It should be noted most of the left wing spectrum isn’t this extreme. These extreme analogies relate to "university politics’', the uniquely very left wing culture associated with large scale universities situated within big cities. The problem is, this minority is extremely vocal and therefore they tend to dominate the conversation.

You preach freedom but you shut down and even penalise (cancel culture) those who think differently? Odd…

I’ve seen the opposite end of this spectrum (radically right wing) too. As in i’ve had conversations with Neo nazi (didn’t want to, long story) or white nationalist subtypes as well as religious fanatics and those who advocate for political violence. These spectrums aren’t pretty… there’s a middle ground to be found, I just don’t know what that is yet.

The schools/after school classes I was sent to as a kid tried to teach me this

But my parents never really provided a solid answer here. I respect them for letting me make my own opinions here. They tried to give me a little nudge, but they didn’t shove scripture down my throat.

I attended synogague weekly, I went to Hebrew school and Jewish school at one point. In the end, some people will stray regardless of how much you try to keep them in line with your perceived ideal.

They were fairly strict though. Up until I was eighteen that is, after which I wasn’t subject to a curfew or rules over what I could and couldn’t watch etc (actually I think this was taken away at seventeen and 1/2 upon my request).

You are wrong, but the rest of your post might show you will one day be right.

Wait, what? WHAT??? You need to wear a helmet when you’re CYCLING in Australia??? Over here Sikhs who wear turbans don’t even have to wear helmets on motorcycles LMAO. And our laws make Australia’s look like an anarchist’s utopia. Fucking people from CHINA who come over here never fail to ask me why our citizens are so afraid of the government.

:joy:

You don’t know what you’re missing.

I don’t have a problem with the idea of wearing a helmet. I usually wear one, though I don’t have one where I currently am and I’m not buying one… or anything really for that matter as money is tight.

I have an issue with mandating people need to wear one, then pulling them over and issuing 400+ dollar fines because a cyclist didn’t wear a helmet on a wilderness trail…

And motorcyclists? Hah… you’ll be pulled over instantly in Aus if you ride one without a very specific type of helmet

And those who have only been riding for a year or two (in my state) need to constantly wear a glow in the dark, bright yellow jacket

You THINK I’m wrong

And you’re probably right

However I know for a fact the average SJW uni student knows jack shit about half of the causes they’re advocating for.

Why do you think feminist women welcome men from Islamic countries? @unreal24278

I’ll add one more question relating to this and then I won’t derail this thread further. In addition to my previous question, why do you think some European women from countries with good treatment of women used to go to the Mediterranean and the Carribean for sex tourism and relationships with men who were anything but concerned about women’s rights, fairness, and feminism? Were these women all ignorant and stupid? If so, how do you know that?

I didn’t know this was a thing. However the men from these countries tend to be more stereotypically masculine. They don’t sit behind a desk typing on a computer all day

You’re saying “women are attracted to masculine men, and the persuasive quasi feminisation of men is resulting in less attractive men residing within society”.

I think this is somewhat dependent on genetics too. Various cultures that don’t treat women well have male residents who aren’t masculine looking; I doubt you’ll find women travelling to India for sex tourism.

However within many third world countries (I know this for a fact) you won’t find as many men who look like they live on cheeseburgers. Whether they’re “muscular” or not… being lean and sinewy is quite common.

Within various cultures wherein men work in manual labour or practice martial arts from a young age and have done so for generations you’ll find the men (provided they have access to food) tend to be more attractive relative to the average American.

Even here in Europe in countries where cycling is the norm, you’ll find the average Joe is far less likely to be overweight. You’ll find some do go to countries like France or Italy looking for hookups… and I can see why, French women in particular tend to be quite attractive.

My rebuttal is… 17 year old girls have no idea what they’re talking about when they root for these countries. A good portion (say 30-40%) statistically haven’t ever had sex

Unfortunately within these countries many residents also don’t have access to basic healthcare, food, water etc. The people going for “sex tourism” are likely looking at these countries with rose tinted goggles, picking out the attractive ones and ignoring the fact that many die before the age of thirty… but that’s tourism too

Go to an EXTREMELY impoverished country, stay in a resort, party, make a mess, ignore the damage you’ve caused and leave.

It’s cheap fun that won’t weigh on your conscious because YOU (not talking about you) don’t have to deal with the aftermath.

I’m sure not all are. But… I think many of the younger ones are

It really depends which countries you speak of. France, Portugal, Spain and Greece aren’t on the same calibre of awful relative to Syria, Jordan, Palestine or Egypt.

All are Mediterranean countries, though the culture within all does differ from that of USA in that men are still encouraged to be… well… Men…

When it comes to Palestine and Israel… yes, I do think people are ignorant. They look at a few headlines and come to an immediate conclusion. It’s a VERY complicated situation and I don’t believe most read much into it past “this news article says this!”

Actually I was aware of people going to countries like France, Spain and Jamacia for hooking up…

I did not say that. I was responding to your notion that such women are ignorant, don’t know what they’re doing, or attraction doesn’t follow a pattern.

Did I get it wrong? I thought that was what you were implying

To which I agree, women are (typically) attracted to masculine men and men are (typically) attracted to feminine women

That’s how people are primitively wired. Can’t change that

It isn’t just women pushing this pro islamic sentiment… the men are too

And I do believe many of the younger people advocating for this are ignorant. They know very little about the agendas they push, but push them in order to out woke one another. It’s hilarious to watch.

16-18 year olds generally don’t think about this stuff in depth. They just go along with whatever status quo is being pushed so long as their rights at the time aren’t being enroached upon.

They don’t really care about impoverished peoples. They are anti white male so everyone else gets a pass because they want them to be allies in that crusade. This is why a white male can get cancelled for criticizing some middle eastern nation’s treatment of homosexuals by, of all people, homosexuals.

Sam Harris criticizes Islam and gets called a racist by the born again feminist Ben Afflek, and the next day those star struck, feminist yentas on The View are praising him for defending the very people who would send those women to the kitchen.

These are the types of people who will call Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a woman who experienced a level of misogyny these American women could not even comprehend, a bigot for criticizing the people who oppressed her.

In an ironic way, it’s an expression of the privilege they enjoy as women living in the West. They are free to criticize the supposed people in power, white heterosexual men, without fear of genital mutilation or imprisonment or forced marriage, etc. The same can be said of homosexuals who don’t have to worry about getting tossed off a roof.

I have an answer

They’re not actually going for sex! They’re going… because the price of decent fruits and vegetables is cheaper in these countries

Why pay 3$ for a kilogram of avocado when you could pay less than 50 cents?

And for the carribean? They’re going to canvass the tobacco fields because we all know women LOVE cigars

Boom… checkmate…

This was very odd

I don’t think he had a clue about what he was defending.

How many women actually do this? It isn’t enough to have any significance. But we could also ask why men go overseas to have sex with children. I don’t think the answer reflects upon men in general just as the previous question about women doesn’t reflect upon women in general.

Very few, I know of zero who have actually gone to third world totalitarian countries to procure sex from the men

Though I know it DOES happen. Men and women alike tend to travel in their early 20’s, and MANY will hook up at some point in time.

Chances are I’m going to meet a girl and have some fun within the next week. Does this make me a bad guy? No… I’m sexually frustrated and I’m an Australian in Europe… Australians are exotic now as most are too scared to knave the country.

This isn’t sex tourism, this is dating/hooking up… and many young men and women do so when they travel.

To note… I’m not fond of hooking up, but what alternative does one have given my circumstances?

Why are you taking albuterol tablets?

You already smoke… nicotine is a rather potent anorectic

And albuterol + the cardiovascular toxicity associated with long term tobacco use can’t be good for you.

Actually I know for a fact it isn’t… it’s terrible for you. Smoking tobacco is the single most preventable cause of heart disease, cancer and stroke.

2-4 fold increase in risk for developing CAD. 6 fold risk for stroke, 25-35 fold risk for lung cancer… the mechanisms as to why are terrifying. 7000 chemicals in darts (at least), over seventy carcinogens.

And I’m ashamed to say I LOVE cigarettes. There’s something extremely satisfying about them. Coming back to Europe where a pouch of rolling tobacco is 6 $ instead of like 120$ in Aus has meant I’m smoking like 3-5 per week (either that or the cigars). In Aus I’d smoke 1-2 per month. I’ve had that habit going on for a while.

Remember, nicotine is also one of the most addictive drugs on the planet. Though I can’t quite see why, I can go months without and sometimes do. They’re satisfying… they’re wonderful, but I don’t crave them if/when I don’t have them

My deterrent is… they screw up my cardio for boxing/kickboxing.
